Title: Get the 15" antenna
Review: I work in the mountains of southern Nevada for an off-road adventure company, 40 miles south of Las Vegas, NV. I knew I would need the longer range antennas due to the lack of "line of sight" issues with the many terrain issues. Title: Powerful penetration & long range
Review: This is Coach Frank, I am part of Polk County DHS USCG Auxiliary here in Lakeland, FL. I took about these pair of Samcom FPN30A two way radios with my wife to Lake Hollingsworth. I was impressed to learn as I was on foot & my wife on a bicycle, we where able to stay on communication while I was still on the city side & she was already 1.5 miles away from at the lake on the northern side. Once reaching the lake property since its a 5KM circle, we both went opposite directions and we still could comm with each other. This included when the was almost 2 miles away accross the lake. So from what I am gathering, it does have powerful penetration on a clear & not clean line of sight. Not very happy about the battery life it could be better 2800 batter vs. 1500 but the radios performance its impressive. Now it has a clear transmission but the speakers could use being louder like the ones from my BAOFENG GMRS radios.
