Title: Best value 4k player full stop
Review: Got it for $165. This thing has Dolby Vision support that detects and activates automatically, 4K picture is superb and 0 issues. The little little brother to the UB420 and the UB820. 420 is $80 more and you get the HDR Optimizer but lose Dolby Vision. The 820 goes between $350 on Black Friday and sometimes MSRP of $500. Both the 420 and the 820 have upscalers as well but... if you have a TV worth watching 4K on, the TV should have a good upscaler built into it already. I have a Sony X90K and the XR processor on board takes care of any upscaling from 1080p Blu Rays or DVDs. The HDR optimizer is not worth $200+. If you have a Samsung TV that doesn't support Dolby Vision, then take a look at the UB420 but in all other cases, this is the one to get.

Title: READ THIS if your eject button doesnât work
Review: ***If the eject button doesnât work, make sure to unplug the Ethernet cable from the unit.*** For some reason having it plugged in bugs out the eject button on the unit when you try to close the tray. Unplugging it will resolve the issue, it doesnât have any smart features so you really donât need Ethernet plugged in.Otherwise a pretty barebones but decent unit, as it supports both Atmos and Dolby vision, with an affordable price. Runs quiet and smooth, no complaints after the eject button issue is resolved. Itâs also pretty cheap looking but it hides in my TV stand so who cares.

Title: The absolute BEST bang for your buck, entry level 4K player with Dolby Vision capabilities!
Review: Recently, my girlfriend and I decided it was time to upgrade our "living room movie theater". First up was a new TV. I'd always heard fantastic things about OLED, so I decided it was time. I bought a 65" LG C3 to pair with our already existing surround sound system. I'll never be able to go back to another kind of TV. I'm a big physical media guy, and this was our first 4K TV, so next up was a 4K player. Trying to find a reasonably priced unit proved to be more difficult than I ever thought it'd be. It had to support multiple formats and that's where you start to run into issues. Most players with those capabilities tend to start in the $500 range. I first went with a Sony UBP-X700M. It seemed to work fine until it started to freeze during disc playback. Did some more research and learned this is a problem that's well known in the home theater community. I immediately returned it for a refund. Initially, I thought I was going to have to fork over another $250 to grab a Panasonic DP-UB820 (the most positively reviewed player under $600) until I came across this listing. Apparently, this player's been available in other countries for quite a while but has just hit the market here in the United States. I'm quite thankful I got into this when I did or else I would've spent so much more. There's not a lot of bells and whistles here, but that's perfectly fine with me. I use my LG TV's apps and such. I bought this player for my 4K/blu-ray discs and, for that purpose, this thing's fantastic. It supports Dolby Vision (lots of players in this price range don't) and HDR10+. It also features 2 HDMI ports to separate the audio and video signals. Doesn't feel like it's made from the strongest of materials, so I definitely wouldn't stack anything on top of it. If you're just getting into this whole home theater thing, this is literally the best there is right now.

Title: It skips. It skips. It skips.
Review: I took the gamble and purchased this last August. It's properly packaged, however, upon testing, it seems that I either received a defective product or the product is really just this way. I've thoroughly read and check for alternatives whenever you encounter skipping during playback, however, it didn't work with this. My TV is 4K with HDR and I used a 4K HDMI cable. I've played a brand new 4K disc of Taxi Driver, Last Night in Soho and Leon The Professional. I even cleaned the discs prior to playback, but sadly, all three discs skipped multiple times throughout each of their runtime. I've contacted Amazon support through chat, however, I couldn't get to a real person for assistance. I was advised by fellow 4K users to return it for replacement but Amazon only offers refund but I have to send them the product first with me covering for the shipping fee (they'll refund up to $20 as after they processed the return) which isn't convenient for me since I'm from PH. I just thought it would've been decent if I was offered a more customer friendly resolution with this. I'm past the return window for this. I guess I just have to live with this player for a while or resell it at a cheaper price.

Title: Works great!
Review: Bought this because my old player stopped playing 4K. Not only plays 4K, but picture is even better. Dolby Atmos works beautifully.

Title: Beautiful Picture
Review: Streaming movies is easy and cheap but for me the picture quality isn't the same. I bought this to replace an LG player that was one of the first 4k players released years ago. It could not play the newer discs without skipping and or freezing. This player is very bare bones, but that's okay with me. After connecting to our AV system, I put in Top Gun Maverick 4K and wow! The picture quality is crazy. Real happy with this player.
