You may need The Art of War to defeat your enemies, but if you prefer to win them over, read The Art of Woo

G. Richard Shell and Mario Moussa know what it takes to drive new ideas through complex organizations. They have advised thousands of executives from companies such as Google, Microsoft, and General Electric to organizations like the World Bank and even the FBI's hostage rescue training program. In The Art of Woo, they present their systematic, four- step process for winning over even the toughest bosses and most skeptical colleagues. Beginning with two powerful self-assessments to help readers find their "Woo IQ," they show how relationship-based persuasion works to open hearts and minds.

"Ranging across history, from Charles Lindbergh to Sam Walton, the authors examine how savvy negotiators use persuasion - not confrontation-to achieve goals." -U.S. News & World Report

Title: Timeless, relevant across the human spectrum not just business
Review: Came recommended by a trusted colleague. And, that was enhanced by it being a few years old and still used in high level academic circles. My apprehension was unfounded, this is a deep but easy read. Although written by academics, more than enough relevant, practiced, and diverse examples are available to learn from.

Title: Excellent book on delivery of ideas
Review: Well written, well thought out book. Many excellent examples, including a couple anecdotes from the career of Steve Jobs. The first, about creating Apple with Steve Wozniak. The second, a brief marketing meeting at the depths of Apple's problems in the last 1990's before the big turnaround.

Title: Useful for people who work in organizations
Review: I found it useful, however, as an independent communications professional I was looking for some B2B examples of wooing. Nevertheless the book delivered some good psychological insights which I will definitely use.

Title: If sometimes you just don't "click" with people when it matters, read this!
Review: Need a way to connect, to get others on your team? I'm still reading this book, but can already say that it will be very valuable to me, as I feel frustrated by feeling that a project or sale was lost because somehow we just didn't "click" when it really mattered. Understanding my communication style and the factors that people base their decisions on, and knowing how to utilize that understanding, will be priceless, both in business and personally. This Kindle download was a little higher in price than I like, but the book is not fluff. It appears to have real tools for improvement that will make a difference.

Review: Richard Shell three books (Woo , Bargaining and Spring Board) is very good and I believe itwill remain in that condition for very long-time. I feel like he has been finding something fromhis study (perhaps from his life) and now developing it and someday will become a popularnew branch of discipline. He is a professor from very well-known university.

Title: Extremely Helpful
Review: This was very helpful in thinking how do we communicate to others in order to be heard. It laid out strategic thought about networking and how to form an argument. This book is great for people in any realm, but I think it's a necessity for managers or sales people.

Title: Good Primer on the Art of Persuasion
Review: People are always asking me about how they can improve their persuasive writing. To them I say, "Read this book, and apply its principles to your proposals, white papers, and editorials." The stories in this book are mostly interesting, and its guidelines are always on target.

Review: What I do not like about the book is this: I read the book with a lot of attention and made notes. I also able to remember most things from the book. But there are only few things I learned from the book that use in daily life! I would have appreciated the book to be less abtract and more concrete. But the book is on a great topic: how to woo other people over! The books does use a lot of examples. Thus you probably will enjoy the book but do not expect to become an overnight success at "the art of woo".
