Title: After 'Alien: Covenant' my expectations were low, but this delivered.
Review: 'Alien: Romulus' delivered a fresh perspective on the world of 'Alien.' When I saw the previews with the young cast, I thought this was going to be a basic "young people being slaughtered by monster/killer" flick. I was pleasantly surprised. There is a mix of action and horror, with elements of the other films that tie in neatly. The effects and editing are nearly perfect. Rook does look a bit off, though. Yes, there is recycled dialogue, but it's brief and pretty basic—after all, you should expect to hear some of the same lines when speaking to an android. No one but me complains when it happens in 'Star Wars,' though.FYI: Rook is not the same artificial person as in the first movie; his name was Ash. Some people seem to be confused about that. The name of the space station comes from Roman mythology, not Star Trek. If you're going to complain about names that don't make sense, you should think about why an alien race's home world would be named after a Roman mythological story.Like anything these days featuring a young female lead, the incels get triggered. Here's a reminder: 'Frankenstein' is widely considered the first work of science fiction. It was written by Mary Shelley when she was 18 years old. She invented the genre that all these movies and video games exist in.A couple of things legitimately do not make sense, however. The way the Corbelan just sort of fell into the hangar and the space helmets made of Libbey glass were kind of silly. This review was, of course, written by AI, whatever that is.

Title: Home Run!
Review: This is an excellent edition to the Alien franchise. Romulus has elements of every alien movie and puts it's own spin on it : From the opening credits , the font of the credits, the colors, sound effects, music , and certain lines used in the movie ,but there are some new never seen before additions also. The acting is superb; Cailee knocks it out of the park , but David Jonsson's (Andy) performance should not be slept on and i think it is worthy of an oscar nod as well as the visual effects; stunning. For an " Alien" movie it was surprisingly poignant;the bond between Rain and Andy was touching but for die hard Alien fans, it gives us what we've been waiting for: nail biting suspense, jump scares, gore, a great story, and a third act that will have you glued to the edge of your seat ; HORRIFYING!This movie is a new modern day sci fi horror classic that will take the Alien franchise in a whole new direction . I am anxious to see where the Rain lands next. 5 stars.

Title: Out and out cut and paste script; nondescript characters, emaciated story, boring aliens
Review: I am so sorry I purchased this film. Loved the first three Alien movies, hated 4, 5 and 6, thought this might be a return to the quality, mystery, and horror of the first three. Instead for the first ten minutes of the film, I swear I was watching 100% video game CGI figures instead of people. Then a feeble plot device and set up that appeared to be stolen from The Expanse, Outland, and other "miners in space" movies. Then we have a synthetic brother to the main character who is taken over by the ruins of Ash from the first Alien--and a terrible CGI of Ian Holm and his voice. Not to mention that the actor playing the artificial person who was the only potentially interesting character and a good actor gets hamstrung at every turn by the other actors and characters who are completely interchangeable. Whole cloth lines and background sounds are lifted rom the first two movies--I mean, having the synthetic person kill an alien and say, "Get away from her, you bitch"? Just wowwowwowbad! Finally the face huggers who were so scary in the first few movies look like toys from the mall here. As for the Alien Adults, their mouths operated as if the puppets needed to be oiled. 🙁

Title: Its hits just below the mark
Review: two real main characters actually do a great job at acting even tho there is a fodder character in the end stretch that I thought was a main until then who was also a great actor, the actual fodder characters where also not bad, the art for the movie on the cover is a spoiler to who dies so that was a buzzkill already knew as soon as I saw the character show up. people say in the comments that there are cringy scenes and I really didn't think there were really any at all, or im just to blonde. the movie kept my attention, I had to read a text in a part and realized I was only 3 minutes ahead and already going wow what happened. The director did a great job and making sure there was a good nostalgia factor along with the modern day sprinkle in it. I do wish they took a different approach as in completely brand new rather then making it in the time frame between the first and second alien/s. I did not like the slight predictability and the Prometheus idea pull, but I guess thats how this movie is in play because its a sequel/prequel. Alot of inspiration was taking from space odyssey and alien isolation (the video game). all in all a good watch.. excited for alien isolation 2 the game and hoping for a brand new alien movie with a different plot line would be nice and minus the hybrid xeno's thats kinda lame.. I liked in alien Dark Decent (the game) they had a massive xeno that would be sweet to see on the big screen.the practical effects did steal my soul, I come from (82's) the thing (no im not that old but I watched it when i was 8), the dark crystal both movie and show(F netflix tho for not continuing the show), and of course alien. 4 stars only because I do love my xeno's on the big screen!

THE END
