Title: It's big and heavy
Review: Dear Prospective Owner of this De'Longhi A/C,(cue background music:) ⪠It's like a heat wave âªI purchased this through Amazon, although it can be cheaper bought directly, but I wanted it sooner and, frankly, Amazon can be better with deliveries and returns, imho.Don't be fooled by the strapping young lad who carries this over his shoulder to your door-step. This is frick'n heavy. I couldn't lift the box to carry it inside. What ever protein shakes and such that they are doing to these Amazon delivery guys.. I don't know. So, thankfully, this device has wheels, so unboxing it where it is and pushing it where you need it to be is a huge plus.OK, now I only found this out after it was delivered and turned on... if this had a chance of being shipped on its side or whatever and not upright. LET IT REST UPRIGHT for at least 6 hours before turning on so the oil can filter back down to the compressor. Or else, you might ruin the compressor. (I did not have this prob, it's just noted in the manual.)Now that you have burnt 3,000 cal man-handling this contraption into place and removed all the weird tape and shtuff on it. It has to be vented. Shorter distance the better. I have an old pet door (RIP Spanky the monkey!) that hasn't been used in years that happens to be a convenient exhaust portal.Thankfully, unless in a humid environment, you don't have to do trips to the whatevers to do repeated emptying of a water bucket. It self-evaporates. ð ð ðThis contraption blows air almost straight up.. which can be a bit annoying, depending on the deployment of said contraption. But, it is effective, albeit loud like any A/C unit.PROS:- Sort of looks like a Penguin if you squint your eyes a bit.- Cools well, albeit, you have to be patient, but it's like any other A/C of this range.- Has wheels!- NO EMPTYING BUCKETS, this is actually pretty neat. Last unit I had needed a lot of maintenance.- Remote is a little bit of a gimmick and not always reliable, but cool (pun intended)CONS:- Heavy. Like, you seriously might need help getting this into place if you aren't in the WWE or work for Amazon Freightâ¢.- Points air UP, which, I know the ceiling could use a little more attention, but you might end up using the excessive packaging cardboard to fashion a 90 degree duct to blow the air where you want. (seriously)- Kind of expensive, but relatively OK for gadgets in this genre.4.5/5

Title: Buyer Beware! These units crack and leak at the bottom!
Review: I don't usually write reviews, but I'm doing this out of a sense of responsibility. These De'Longhi ACs have a major design flaw that will result in your floors being flooded and damaged. The worst part is, that De'Longhi is well aware of this problem and continues to ship the product. My photos here basically tell the story. These units are designed to literally sit on the plastic water tank. Instead of having a metal bottom with casters (and the tank inside the unit), the tank is directly at the bottom of the unit and the casters are attached to it. This results in a lot of pressure and stress on the plastic, mostly from the weight of the unit, but also due to how the plastic is attached internally. As you can see this results in the plastic cracking, which allows the water in the tank to pour out. These units produce a lot of condensation, and it only takes a few hours of running to flood your floors. I discovered this the hard way. We had so much water leak out of this tank that it drenched our carpet and the subfloor. It actually damaged our house, and we spent a week trying to dry the carpet and padding out. We probably have mold now as a result. These units are literally shipping out with this defect. It arrived at my home this way, but we didn't know because the crack was underneath. It wasn't until our floor had been soaked numerous times that we realized there was a major problem. By the time the crack was discovered, the damage had been done. This is not an isolated incident. If you read through the reviews here you'll see this is a common and known issue. In fact, when I contacted De'Longhi support about this it was obvious that they had many customers with the same problem. They shipped me out a replacement under the warranty, and guess what, it has the same problem!Look at the last two photos I've attached, and you'll see there are stress marks (white marks) in the plastic in the identical location of the unit that had the crack. This replacement unit has the same problem, and is a ticking time bomb waiting to crack in the same location. This is a stupid design flaw on an otherwise very nice unit. Why they are not making these with metal bottoms is beyond me. My guess is they are being very cheap about it. I have another De'Longhi AC from years ago, and it also has a plastic bottom. My guess is they are saving more money than they are losing from this issue.Dealing with De'Longhi support is a nightmare. You will spend at least 30-45 minutes on hold. When you finally get someone they will only offer a replacement. They will not refund under any circumstance. In my case they offered me a 4th unit and I laughed. I've had 3 defective units from De'Longhi. The first one shipped out with an assembly defect in the outer casing. The second one had the cracked bottom, and the third unit has the stress cracks in the same spot.By the time you realize you have an issue your only choice is to go through De'Longhi support. Amazon will not refund past 30 days. In my case I've had 4 months of replacements and no one will refund me, not De'Longhi or Amazon. I'm left with a unit that will likely split open at the bottom in a matter of days or weeks.De'Longhi does not care about their customers. I've spoken with them many times, and it is clear they only care about their bottom line. They are basically committing fraud here by shipping these units out with clear knowledge they crack and leak. They just don't care! They also have an absurd policy that requires you to cut the power cord on replaced units and send that photo to them in order for the warranty to be maintained on the replacement. This forces you to then pay to dispose of the defective unit. In my case I just glued the plastic bottom using a plastic epoxy and then sold the repaired unit. I just couldn't throw out a unit that was working perfectly except for the crack. What a waste that would be!If you do end up in my situation you can repair the cracked plastic by using J-B Weld PlasticWeld Super Strength Epoxy (sold by Ace Hardware). It will completely seal the crack and dries harder than the original plastic.Beyond that, I recommend staying away from De'Longhi and these AC units in particular (unless you prefer cracks and leaks).De'Longhi, shame on you for this!

Review: I recently purchased the DeLonghi Portable Air Conditioner 14,000 BTU (model EX390LVYN), and so far, it has exceeded my expectations. This unit is designed to cool extra-large rooms up to 700 square feet, but it has comfortably cooled my house with ease.In terms of performance, the air conditioner handles the job effortlessly, even in the sweltering heat. The cooling efficiency is impressive, making my home bearable and comfortable during these hot days. The energy-saving mode is a nice touch, helping to keep utility bills in check while maintaining a pleasant indoor climate.I also invested in an insulating sleeve for the hose, which was recommended by other users. It turns out to be a necessary addition, as the hose can get quite hot. The sleeve helps manage this heat effectively, ensuring that the unit runs efficiently. For those interested you can also purchase this item from Amazon (De'Longhi DLSA003 Portable Air Conditioner Exhaust Hose Cover/Wrap, Insulated, Universal, Light Gray).Overall, Iâm very pleased with its performance. It has lived up to its promises and has made a significant difference in managing indoor temperatures. If youâre in the market for a portable air conditioner that combines cooling power with quiet operation, this DeLonghi model is a solid choice.

Review: Pros: works fantastic at cooling my bedroom, especially at night. Sleeping is fantastic with it so cool. My apartment is 730 sq ft and it does bring temp down outside my bedroom to some degree too and even further with the use of fans. Moves around easily on wheels. Pretty compact even with its size. Easy to assemble and doesn't take long to cool the area at all. Remote works great. I can set timer for it to start before I get home from work so apartment is cooler. Comes with a cover for the remote, and for the air conditioner, when I store it. Sleek and easy instructions with buttons to navigate the temp up or down. Has three options for use: air conditioning, fan or dehumidifier. I'm super happy I got it regardless that it cost a pretty penny. Very grateful!!!! Would do it again ðCons: hose was too short, only 4 ft I had to order another hose off Amazon as Canadian Tire, Lowe's, and Walmart didn't carry hoses. It cost me another $45 for a 4' 11" hose 5.9" round which works great but was not impressed that I had to pay more for another hose. Although it says it can cool 700 sq ft - I think it means one big room that's 700 sq ft as my apartment is 730 sq ft and it doesn't cool like it does in my bedroom outside of the bedroom. It brings the temp down to some degree outside the bedroom and fans help with the rest of the area however it works great if you're in the same roomor close there by.
