Title: It's more than cost-free as time elapses in most cases.
Review: I had an almost new small air conditioner that was noisy and wouldn't go inactive unless I turned it off. This appliance is bigger, works as a heater or a dehumidifier as well and when it is in the air conditioner mode, if it is a little cool outside, it goes on the fan mode when it gets to the adjusted temperature. If the temperature stays low with only the fan on, after a while even the fan turns itself off, till the inside temperature increases again, automatically turning itself on. I purchased this appliance a few years ago, and I have never noticed this feature, that is why I decided to write this review right after I have noticed it. I already knew that with the money that I have saved I could have bought at least two more of this unit. And it cools or heat the whole apartment, which is around 500 squares feet (it will take a little longer to reach the further areas). On the dehumidifier mode there will be water coming from the small hose. It needs some attention to determine how big the recipient that will collect the water will be for the planned time of use of the dehumidifier.I don't only recommend that you purchase this appliance, I ask you to do it if you don't have something as efficient as it is. That is a smart way to help to save the planet.

Title: Only used for heat so far
Review: Edit 4/15/2024-I've now used the a/c function. And it's leaking, badly now somewhere underneath. It wasn't too bad, I was planning on figuring out how to hook up a hose to it or something for a permanent drain. Then it got real bad suddenly. So I'll have to take it outside tomorrow and get a better look underneath it and see what I'm dealing with and if I need to call customer service or what. Not very happy. The heat worked good in all but our 0 degree temps for a week in winter. And the a/c has worked good till this, the few times I've used it, same with dehumidify mode. Going to be really disappointed if this is cracked like other's have shown. Will update again in a few days.So far I've only had the chance to use this in heat mode. And it does really good. My central heat and a/c went out a few years ago. That's a heat pump, so I have auxillary heat(which is barely working at this point) but that's very expensive to run. So this is to supplement that. I have a basic rectangle house, about 1200 sqft. I always keep the house on the cool side in winter, mid to upper 60's. So far this is holding to that pretty good combined with the main aux heat-which I actually barely run anymore with this unit.Problem though. It's been in use, not constant but pretty good for about 2 weeks, mainly in the evenings and overnight. Had the automatic drain hose running out the window. And, that has stopped working. So now, about every two hours it shuts off and I have to manually drain it at the bottom. FYI a pie tin fits almost perfect under for a quick drain if you need to do it manually. But, it's deep enough to hold all the water in there, need to dump it twice. No clue where all that moisture is coming from, it's winter and dry here. So I'll need to either take it apart and see if I can figure out what's up with the drain pump, or hook up the drain hose to the bottom, prop the whole thing up higher, and use a bin or bucket to drain it with gravity. Not too keen with having to do that. But I prefer using this to a space heater. I don't worry about the dogs or cats knocking this over, it just feels safer to use while I'm sleeping. And it really does heat up a good majority of my house really good. If I could leave my bedroom doors open, I have no doubt they would be a bit warmer than they are.Initial set up, it was a pain in the rear IMO. I've had several different brand of portable ac units over the years. They've been easy peasy to put together, 15 mins tops and just need a quick glance at the instructions. This? Took me about 45 mins with reading the instructions. Just overall a bit confusing. And I still haven't figured out how to put the cap on the intake side(that needs closed off for heat mode). So for now I have a filter covering it.The hose/tubes seem to be a better quality than other brands I've had, similar to one that was a higher quality brand. My main reason for getting this was the dual hose system. With the single hose, it draws in the hot air in the summer, and just they don't work good at all. Hope the dual hose works better as I've seen. I'll update after I get the chance to use the ac and dehumidify modes, or if any other problems arise. I managed to snag this on a sale, and got a couple of good discounts, so I got this at a much lower price out of pocket. But I'm not sure I would've bought it at it's current price. These things are just way too expensive for what they are and the problems that come with them. But they're so much more convenient (when they work) than a window ac unit. And this with the heat is just an added bonus.

Title: Whynter elite ARC-122DHP 12000 BTU
Review: Read other peoples reviews so I was a little worried. But I really needed an AC unit. so I bit the bullet cause it was on sale. bad thing is when I got the unit there was some cosmetic damage the coating on part of the AC unit was not done well. so we complained to Amazon and they gave us 40 GC YES!!! so we were happy. Performance wise I think it just depends on where you live. I live in California NO HUMIDITY!!!!! it works great. ICE cold air. we have a room about 20ish ft x 20 ish ft and works great. The AMP is 9ish so that is great also but when running these type of machines pay attention cause it could trip your breaker. Bought a 3 year warranty just to be safe. but ultimately LOVE this machine use it every day no problems. Noise wise come on man... its a portable AC unit its gonna make some noise. if you don't like install Central air or live in the heat. I have owned a portable AC unit before and this one is quieter in comparison.

Title: Miserable AC
Review: It is a genuinely awful AC unit, I bought this because the last AC I got from this company lasted 10 years. I think this one won’t last a year.It leaks because it won’t drain properly. It is less efficient because heat leaks out from the hole where you stick the tube that the water is supposed to drain from. It whines very loudly because the intake hoes does not seal properly against the AC. The whine is louder than the rest of unit. This also means the unit is less efficient because it is sucking air from the room it is in. Before the whine it was relatively quiet. I can hear the whine on the other side of my apartment. This is kind of a minor issue but the remote sucks. I legitimately don’t understand why they put a screen on it. It doesn’t use double or triple as. It doesn’t matter that much but it still sucks. It is bad from a design standpoint and bad from poor manufacturing quality. I am very disappointed and feel cheated out of my money and this unit is not cheap.

Review: Cool in the summer and heat up to 0 deg outside. No problems since two years. Really satisfied!*Best with both Insulated ducts with good sceal everywhere. A bit noisy but less than some others. I removed the carbon filter, less restriction for inside air intake so more efficient. For a portable device, it’s the more energy efficient that I found on the market.
