Title: Great sound and performance but remote a bit quirky.
Review: I needed a compact all-in-one sound system for my living room to put atop a new bookcase. This Victrola 8-in-1 delivered just fine. It contains a record player, CD player, cassette player, FM radio (no AM in mine though some models come with it), Bluetooth connectivity and the capability to record off your Cd's or USB. At only 13 pounds it stands on my bookcase without any fear of damaging it and it looks beautiful - the woodwork is outstanding in my opinion. This is what a retro sound system should look like. But the real factor is the sound and functionality. First the sound. The sound from all sources is great overall, but I would have hoped for for bass or at least a treble-bass knob to customize the sound so what what you hear is what you get. The bass is not bad by any means but if onw wants more in this area perhaps get external speakers to boost the sound. For my purposes in the room it's in I am satisfied. Note however that the unit comes with a wire antenna and not a metal telescoping one. You will have to adjust the placement to get the best sound. Now to the remote. it is a bit quirky and here's why. For starters there is no On/Off button on it - you must turn the unit on manually with the power button on the front left. Then after you turn the system on, you must wait a second or two for it to power on before you select what mode you want to listen to. This also applies even when the unit is turned on and you want to switch from one mode to the other. You just have to let the unit breathe so to speak before each function is enabled. Not a big deal to me but you should all know this. Please note that the buttons on the remote are duplicated on the front of the system so you have a choice of how to make it work The remote also has the usual controls for volume and CD function ( FF, reverse, track, pause, mute). The record player functions just fine - just read the directions first. There is a grip to hold the tonearm in place when not in use - please use this. Also, the tonearm is manual and not automatic so be aware of when the side ends to lift the arm and put it back in the cradle. The stylus seems OK and does not to damage to the records as some have said but I will keep an eye out for this. The CD player has a tray for the CD which works fine and seems sturdy but if using the remote to get the tray out you must point it directly in front of the tray for it to come out. There is also an eject button in the right front of the unit for this purpose. CDs sound fine. The radio also sounds great - just know that when you turn it on it will sound at the highest volume level so be prepared. Depending on your reception you may need to adjust the placement of the wire antenna. You decide whether you just move it curled up or whether to unravel it. You should know that you cannot change stations with the remote. You must use the dial in front of the unit for this. Some may not mind this but others may. I just listen to one FM station most of the time so no big deal for me. Again there is no AM on my model.Bluetooth connectivity is quick and easy with excellent sound quality. The manual says the Bluetooth operates a 30 foot distance from the unit but I have not tried this so I cannot say for sure. As for the cassette player I have not tried it so cannot comment on its functionality. I did not buy this system because of the cassette player so that was not am issue for me.So to sum up the Victrola 8-in-1 is great unit for the price. The remote will take a little getting used to but should not be a deal breaker. The sound and functionality are just fine for an average size apartment - I can hear it playing clearly from the back of the apartment. So I would say go for it - you should be fine with this unit. And it looks great too.

Title: It's really good for casual vinyl people who might like a radio playing and pop a record. Don't have audiophile expectations.
Review: I've only had it for a week so far but after having to choose between the Aviator and the Electrohome Signature and taking a chance with either of them despite the scary negative reviews that had me worried about these all-in-one record players. It's not bad. The speakers are pretty decent and damn well can get loud if you're just a casual vinyl person and not audiophile. Also! Big plus is this one has phono out which is nice if I ever want to add some powered external speakers in the future unlike the Electrohome from what I've read. So, you know, keep that in mind. The am/fm radio is really nice and clear even in this three story apartment building I'm in which acts like the Bermuda triangle and can't get a signal out with my phone to save my life sometimes. The bluetooth works excellently and quick. (Note: the Aviator will show up as, "Wooden music player" or something along those words.)The cd player works which is all I can really say on that subject because I played, like, two disc on it but it works nonetheless and reads even clear, black, blue cd backs.Haven't tried the cassette player yet. I'll add onto this later when I get some cassettes to play some day.And the big one. The vinyl player. It comes with a little first startup manual laid across the platter. So setting it up was easy. It plays all speeds like it says it should. I tried 33 1/3 LP's, 45's, and 78's. It comes with a tonearm lift so that's nice so you don't have to just drop it. The platter doesn't skip and the needle reads clearly. Now of course the quality of the needle some audiophiles will say, "Eck! Ceramic garbage! Destroy your records!". Like, okay, sure probably they do but I just wanted something that works and doesn't actually destroy your records like Crosley's record players. It's good, good for casual vinyl players that just want to play some of their old records, and new ones occasionally. It's actually not bad. Also the packaging was something else. In a good-ish way. Came in four boxes and the box with the record player in it was protected with foam braces and air bags. The vinyl player has a transport screw the tone arm was secured with a wire and foam block and plastic clip to hold it to the resting arm and the platter was held stiff with a foam block pressed down to it. I'd recommend holding onto these foam pieces just for future reasons. The needle was protected with a plastic cover. They supply three extra replacement needles and a microfiber cloth. A manual included with a remote. The remote did not come with batteries. The remote acted funny at first with the volume not going up or down without first going down once before going up in volume and vice versa. The knob for the volume on the console is weird it's molded with a arrow and a printed - to + picture but the knob you might have to twist it around all the way twice to turn it from 20 to 0 volume because, I don't know, oversight?

Title: Basic all-in-one that does nothing exceptionally well or exceptionally bad
Review: Was looking for a versatile player and this Victrola met my needs and looks great in a room full of vintage furniture.Quick review of the features-1) Had no issue with the record player. The one record I tried had some warping in the sound but that was due to the center hole in the vinyl being punched slightly off-center. (Slightly adjusting the hole with an xacto knife fixed it, which confirmed it wasn't the player.)2) CD player rattles loudly but if you turn up the music volume enough, you don't hear it. I was pleasantly surprised that it played scratched CDs without skipping or stuttering.3) Tape deck controlled with one button that doesn't rewind as others have pointed out. I won't use the tape deck much anyway, so this didn't bother me.4) Streamed from my phone using the Bluetooth option. Worked well and the range was pretty decent.5) The radio reception is crazy. I didn't set up the antenna wire at all but the music came through crystal clear. I haven't had a radio work this well before in the house. Just note that it only supports FM not AM.6) Speaker quality is bad no matter what option you are using. There is a constant hiss and sometimes crackle, even when nothing is playing and the volume is low.Overall, I'm happy with the purchase, but I wouldn't want to pay more than the sale price.

Review: I do not recommend buying this product. I acquired this Victrola and when I heard the vinyl, I found that its sound was very low. We can only hear if we sit in front of the sound or put on a headset, but it is still low. In the other functions Victrola works normally. I tried to contact the manufacturer to solve the problem through their website, but they never answered me. I have a device that I can't hear the vinyl and this was the main reason for the purchase

Review: Steer clear of this. Buy a good player from a pawn shop.I used to have the previous generation of this product and I absolutely loved it. This one is atrocious. The turntable was completely loose and constantly skipped. When I finally thought I fixed it, the whole audio popped and sounded like it was on the lowest level even when I turned it up. On top of that, the cd player wouldn't even recognize the cd I bought brand new yesterday. Pathetically made product. I will be returning.
