Title: Great Complement to Duolingo
Review: I started learning Spanish via the app, Duolingo. I bought this Spanish book to help me understand and the basics. This is a great resource. It really does teach you Spanish by building up the concepts. It explains a lot of grammar concepts better than Duolingo. It still takes a lot of work to learn; sometimes I have to read the explanations over and over again before it finally sinks in.I recommend buying the spiral bound version of this book. It’s easier to flip through the book with the spiral binding. Buy a mechanical pencil with a big eraser for all the mistakes that you will naturally make as part of the learning process and enjoy learning Spanish!

Title: Excellent Spanish language text book
Review: This is a great textbook. I am an adult self learner. I have a basic knowledge of French and wanted to learn some Spanish prior to a trip to Peru.The organization of the book is logical and clear. The grammatical explanations are concise. Tons of vocabulary introduced logically. Good exercises in every chapter. I especially like the Reading Comprehension pieces.I do have one question. In total how many Spanish words are in the book? In other words what is the vocabulary number in the book?In sum, if you are an adult learner you will benefit from this book.Gracias!

Title: Thorough Book for Beginner to Intermediate
Review: I did take Spanish on and off a few years ago, but this book really helped me remember the basics. It is thorough but not wordy. This book is for a class I want to take, however, the semester to sign up has already passed. Nonetheless, I am going through it as a self study guide until the next semester in winter. So far, this book does not disappoint!

Title: Good balance between reference and practice
Review: Excellent coverage of the topics necessary to master Spanish language. Structurally focused on verbs, their tenses and conjugations interspersed with other parts of speech and some vocabulary development. The exercises and reading practice do reflect the reference material presented. However this book is not sufficient by itself. It needs to be supplemented with pronunciation practice, substitution drills, topical dialog, vocabulary development and more reading exercises.The book deals with each topic to the same uniform level of detail regardless of the learning difficulty of the topic. For example the topic of indirect objects and relexive verbs receives about the same level of scrutiny as say the topic of present subjunctive. But even the author recognizes the difficulty of objects and reflexive verbs and encourages the student to not continue until thoroughly mastered. So one could evaluate this book as tradeoff between reference and practice.There is also some online material provided by the publisher in conjuction with this book and others they offer. Its useful but not that impressive.

Title: Perfect for beginners
Review: It’s perfect for me and how I learn. Starts off very basic with lots of exercises and explainations. I learn best by doing and writing and this book is great. It is a great pairing to Duolingo. I have been in the app for a few months before I bought this book. It is a great addition, it helps me to work outside of the app.

Title: Great Book for Learning Spanish… If It Were Shipped To The Right Place! (My Fault)
Review: I bought this book for my boyfriend who works with a lot of people who speak Spanish, so he wanted to start learning. It’s the perfect book to help him immerse himself in the language. Only one small problem… I accidentally sent it to MY address instead of his work address! So now, instead of mastering Spanish, he’s probably wondering why I’ve gone radio silent on my language support. Meanwhile, I’m sitting here at home, flipping through a Spanish book that I can't use. Five stars for the book, minus zero stars for MY mailing skills. Here’s hoping my next shipment ends up at the right place next time! 😆Update: I ordered the book again, and I just found out today that it made it to him safely and he loves it! He looked it over and said it looks really comprehensive and that by the end of it he should know intermediate Spanish! Glad that it made it to him my second go around ordering it. 😅

Title: Wonderful beginner workbook
Review: I (and my small group of Spanish learner friends) love this book. It’s truly for a beginner or someone who is re-learning or revisiting the language. so often language books are there for beginners, but are too difficult than this is a great way to review and learn and feel accomplished and good about the process. We highly recommend this book!

Review: My Spanish learning journey has seen me go use various apps and watch lots of different you tube channels. Although I was putting in the time I never really felt like I was progressing.I bought this book and now I am starting to see my progress. It gives your learning some structure, each lesson building on from the last. I wish I had started with this book, as I am convinced I would be much further along than I am now.This book is now at the core of my studying. I use Pimslur and watch some you tube channels to compliment my learning but this book is what's given me the confidence that my hours spent studying may not be in vain after all.
