Title: Short and Sweet...Just what I needed.
Review: This very short was extremely helpful, and my friends and I made a fantastic first batch of sweet cider. The hard cider is in the process of fermenting, and we'll see how that turns out. It's going to be a while. There isn't a whole lot of guidance on the hard cider, but their rudimentary explanation was MUCH appreciated. If you want to get really technical on the hard cider, buy another book. For sweet cider, I feel like this book is all I need.

Title: Very informative book for someone trying out making cider!
Review: This book assumes the reader knows nothing about cider making, which is very handy because I didn't lol. It has a ton of practical info but also lots of advanced ideas for those who have the basics down. 🙂

Title: apple cider making
Review: The latest version of Annie Proulx's book on cider making is an improvement on the earlier editions and a good reference for persons interested in making their own cider. It covers cider making history and hard cider quite well. Sweet cider coverage has improved from earlier editions, but information is still scarce. Coverage of apple varietys suitable for cider making could be expanded. I would like to see more details on perserving sweet cider for long-term storage.

Review: First time for me with fresh apple crushing by hand with my new crusher. What an experience! The final product was spot on. The book was well written, easy to understand. So glad I bought this one.

Title: Great ... if it Was 1930
Review: Storey Publishing has published a series of this homey, old-time project based pamphlets. The information seems rather antiquated, and I found far better information and instructions elsewhere. It's cheap, but that doesn't mean it's worth what you're paying.

Review: Informative but quite short. You probably can make some decent cider from the instructions presented here. Don't expect more than a beginner's guide though.
