Title: Concise & To The Point â From The Bouse Himself
Review: If you don't want to read my whole review, just buy the book. It's good and worth the money even though it's short. Jeff knows what he's talking about and has sustained a strong career in this industry for many years. It's the kind of book you read in one sitting and get hyped from, feeling ready to get to work as soon as you put it down...I have been watching Jeff's content since 2012, and have had the pleasure of seeing his career evolve and grow. The most important thing to know about this book is that it's written by someone who knows what they're talking about and has the longevity to prove it. He has gone through the ups and downs that many streamers go through, but he's still here streaming â and better than ever. He put in the work and built a streaming career from nothing. While the book is short in length, it doesn't waste any time getting into the details that you need to know to understand what it takes to be a professional streamer. I do wish it was longer, had more anecdotes from his personal experiences, and had more explicit examples of things he's done that worked and didn't work â but because all streams are different, those might be lessons better learned by one's own experiences. It certainly has enough content to be worth the money. If you are a streamer, or are thinking about becoming one, you will without a doubt make a lot more money with the strategies and tactics in this book than you paid to read about them. Plus, there is a companion website with some additional information that he says will be updated over time. Some people might say that this is all "information you can find online for free", and maybe some of it you can, but this stuff you can believe and confidently put into action right away, because you know the author is an expert who has lived this life for years, and grinded it out like everyone else had to.I am not a streamer, and don't intend to become one, but I bought this book because I like the way Jeff runs his business. I also own my own "content creation"-type business, and I found this book very inspiring. It's always nice to hear from someone who put everything on the line and shot for the stars â especially when they're one of the few who make it.

Title: Valuable, Informative, Inspirational, Entertaining
Review: I loved this book. It's full of real, non BS advice and experience from someone who clearly knows what they are doing in the streaming and Esports field. I'm terrible at video games but love playing them and love Twitch and this book helped me figure out what kind of streamer I could be, how to plan for that, how to grind to build and audience, and when and how to monetize.Jeff certainly lets his personality shine through, this book is not a grind to read, and I think if I ever start up a stream I'll go back to it again and again for both the tips and the encouragement. His personal story and experience with streaming is honestly a pretty unique and inspirational tale.If you're thinking about starting a stream, or you're a part time streamer, or you have an audience and are looking to monetize, you should definitely read this.

Title: You won't find this insight anywhere else.
Review: The Grind is without a doubt one of the most comprehensive streaming books currently available. The author has streamed for over 7 years, even before Twitch's inception. After reading this book, you will see that he isn't just bragging when he says he is one of the most experienced streamers out there. The Grind not only focuses on how to start streaming, whether as a hobby, part-time, or full-time, but it also prepares you for the long run. Topics range from setting up, to earning money, all the way to streamer health. As a result, you know what to expect every step of the way.Whether you want to start out streaming, or have been streaming for a while, The Grind offers so much to help you grow and earn more from your stream. Even if you are a successful streamer making more money than you've ever imagined, after reading The Grind you'll realize that you are most likely undervaluing yourself, and could be earning much more. The conversational tone of the The Grind clearly conveys the author's sincerity in everything that is talked about in the book. Ultimately, you should read The Grind even if you just want to learn the ins and outs of the streaming world, because I guarantee you won't find this insight anywhere else.

Title: Too short
Review: Jeff shares personal stories and experiences in the streaming industry to educate the reader on what it takes to successfully stream on Twitch. I bought the book as a fan of MaximusBlack for entertainment. The book was indeed entertaining, and it was interesting to read about Jeff's story. That said, this book does not have every thing that you need to know. It is very short, too short to justify the price I think. There are certain parts where he notes "I could write about this topic all day" or "I could make a whole book out of this", yet only spends a paragraph or two on the subject. More specifics and details, for example about exactly how to deal with trolls and spammers in chat, how to set up and start a stream with OBS etc., would truly make this book the "Streamer's Bible".The result is a book that is somewhat unfocused between autobiographical dialogue and broad streaming tips. In addition, there are some grammatical errors. Entertaining, nonetheless.

Title: The Grind delivers on all promises and then some
Review: I have been streaming myself for a few years, so I like to think I at least have a decent grasp on what I am doing. Boy do I have a lot of room to improve. THE GRIND by Jeffrey Johnston is exactly as it is described in the title. We are given a back end insiders look at the best strategies, hardware, software, and habits you need to develop in order to start and grow your own Twitch stream to the point of successful monetization. Jeff is a pro, and I couldn't really think of anyone better to write a book like this. You wont get any BS sellouts on products or any pushing of some sponsored application, Jeff just tells it like it is and is completely honest. Coupled with The Bouse's own website, thegrind.gg, a complete beginner should have no trouble reaching affiliate on Twitch within 6 weeks using the information in THE GRIND. 11/10 will read it again!
