.... compares two theories―Naturalism and Theism―on a wide range of relevant data. It concludes that Naturalism should be preferred to Theism on that data. The central idea behind the argument is that, while Naturalism is simpler than Theism, there is no relevant data that Naturalism fails to explain at least as well as Theism does.

Title: Best argument for preferring Naturalism over Theism
Review: Oppy is the best atheist philosopher in the world. This book serves as a good starting point for those that want to get into his larger work. While I do disagree with his conclusion I think he does present the best short but we'll thought out case against God.I would recommend this book be read by anyone that wants to get the best argument for Naturalism.

Title: Oppy on Cosmic Fine Tuning
Review: I've not read the whole book yet. Oppy seems to have an entirely new criticism of the cosmic fine tuning argument. I don't understand his criticism completely, but it's becoming clearer upon re-reading. He seems to be moving the fine tuning debate toward (and forward to, at long last) considerations of the putative universe creator's motives for creating and tuning this universe. Dare the theist assign probabilities to what a perfect deity will or will not do? Let us wait patiently for the theist to unpack this theological jumble.

Title: Exceeds Expectations
Review: I read it for what the title suggests, and it is honest about many subjects. Review: This book belies its rather arrogant title, when the author writes, "We should not be too confident that there is a compelling evidential argument in favour of Naturalism over Theism." (Page 88) The book is rather challenging to understand thoroughly, so that reading and rereading some sections is advisable.
