Title: (((SIMPLY DIVINE)))
Review: The heirloom-quality book is laid out so you can sit back and enjoy the journey of "walking" through its pages of breathtaking plates, one after the other, unencumbered or distracted by verbiage (other than identifiers) which is (thoughtfully) best enjoyed separately in delightfully detailed format. Indeed, the next best thing to an in-person visit to one of 5th Avenue's -- nay Manhattan's! -- most prized possessions: The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Excellent-quality printing on substantial-quality paper from Hong Kong, long-recognized for their superior contribution to fine print work. The book itself is amply sized so as to offer images that are in turn generously sized which deliver nuances that might otherwise be compromised; be forewarned the "price" for that brand of satisfaction is a quite heftily-weighted book. Nevertheless. Whether you're a bonafide museum lover or finally quenching your curiosity of what all the hubbub is about, this extraordinary compilation will soothingly reaffirm and/or introduce you to the world-renowned collections housed at the one & only MMA.

Title: So beautiful and comprehensive!
Review: Spectacularly beautiful art book. The photos of the artwork are so large. One can fully enjoy and study the work. The guide to each painting provides informative and comprehensive information in language that respects the reader regardless of where they are on their learning journey. My very favorite book of art thus far. Worth every penny and I recommend it highly!

Title: Amazing book & price, but check for book defects inside and out, then enjoy.
Review: The book as a whole is simply beautiful. I like how its presented from works past to present. I had to send the first copy back to Amazon due to defects of both the inside front cover & inside back cover being cut from top down. I appreciate Amazon's easy return policy. Just brought book to The UPS Store, showed them the Amazon code on my phone, they scanned it, packed, and sent the book back to Amazon. Today I received my replacement in just couple days in perfect condition, thank you.

Review: I don't normally buy coffee table books, in fact I actively avoid them. I find them tasteless and too consumer oriented and not useful as reference material. I collect art books. I could talk your head off about what makes a book an art book and not a coffee table book, but my opinion on that subject also doesn't matter because regardless of where this one falls, you should buy it if you are interested in it. The reproductions are high quality, and usually I like things shot for artfully (see the Brassaii book of photos of Picasso's sculptures) but here it works marvellously with "voiceless" reproduction photographs because it also shows high quality zoom ins of the important parts of the works. The zoom outs are nonetheless presented large, so you really do get to take in all the details and overall effect of the works as if you were at a museum and standing back, then walking up close. Very very few art books do this, so in that respect this book is a great reference. The ordering by date makrs it easy to navigate. I wish every museum had a book this extensive and well produced. I find the Art Institute book too lacking, the Louvre book is too gift shoppy, etc. The MET also has a great collection so that this book is a good overview of all the important periods and movements. I find other books of paintings print them too small, or too few. Not a problem here. My only gripe is I wish the binding were higher end, and I'd like more essays and commentary, because the curators are top notch!

Review: I haven't finished, but I like the quality and the large pictures. If the pandemic stops people from going to the museum, this book may serve as the best alternative.
