They killed the wrong girl. Rachel Hatch will make them pay.

USA Today best-selling author L.T. Ryan has teamed up with Police Detective Brian Shea for this debut novel in the gripping Rachel Hatch mystery thriller series.

Ex-Army criminal investigator Rachel Hatch is a drifter. No home. No commitments. Until her sister's drowning drags her back to the town she left 15 years ago.

Convinced her sister's death was no accident, Hatch partners with the local sheriff, Dalton Savage, to uncover the truth. Every answer unlocks another question, and as the investigation begins to unravel, Hatch and Savage find their lives on the line.

Hatch is forced to use her special set of skills - forged on the field of combat - to learn the truth about her sister and bring those responsible to justice.

The first novel in one of the most highly anticipated collaborative series this decade, Drift is a tightly woven story with deeply developed and endearing characters that will have you rooting for them at every turn, set at an exhilarating pace that will keep you listening late into the night.

Title: Truth is earned
Review: An amazing story that starts with a glitch. What happened to the two drug makers that found the body floating in the lake.Their mysterious departure from the storyline left me baffled and I don’t recall how placing them at the very beginning was never relived. Other than that glitch was resolved, but still left me baffled.mybe it was there but I missed it. A clarification would be in line.

Title: A well-crafted and engaging book
Review: I just finished reading Drift by L.T. Ryan and Brian Shea. A fast read. Not complicated. I had some issues with connecting with the main character Rachel Hatch. Her character seemed dry, and though she'd built up a protective wall, there seemed to be little compassion except for her niece and nephew. It had a good plot but it was predictable. All in all, I read it straight through and it held my interest. For those who enjoy action thrillers, I'd recommend reading Drift. Four stars.

Title: Good story - main character needs work.
Review: I'm a fan of the Jack Reacher series, and this seemed to share similar themes so I thought it was worth a shot. Overall it's a well written story with former army protagonist Rachel Hatch returning to her hometown to investigate the death of her twin sister. It's a quick, but enjoyable read with a good supporting cast. It's classed as a mystery but I see it as more of an action novel with a few procedural elements thrown in.Where things fell down for me is with the character of Hatch herself. The authors make an effort to portray her as this bad-ass ex special forces heroine, which is great, but she comes across as extremely arrogant and not really likeable in any way. I rolled my eyes whenever she'd spout another one of her many cliched lines like ""Not too many people get to point a gun at me and live to tell about it" or "I rarely misread a person or situation". She seems so selfish that even the death of her sister is taken more like a personal insult, rather then the tragedy it really is. She pursues the villains simply for vengeance, not for her sisters kids, or her mother, and certainly not for justice. It's hard to like such a character, which makes the blurb's claim of "enduring characters you can root for at every turn" quite comical. If you can overlook that, this is a fun read. I'll try the second one and see if Hatch's character gets any better.

Review: This was a waste of time, description of how guns and cars work are more detailed than the people and surroundings. No depth was given to the characters, and the plot is very simplistic.
