"★★★★★ Twin Towers is recommended to those who enjoy pure action with romance, aliens, vengeance, and having the ability to change the past. September 10, 2001. Special Forces Major Kyle Mason is honeymooning at New York’s SoHo Grand Hotel with his bride, Padma Mahajan. The couple’s hotel is only a few hundred yards away from Padma’s place of work on the 105th floor of the World Trade Center’s North Tower.

When Padma steps out for coffee and a cigarette, a mysterious visitor enters the honeymoon suite, warning Kyle of an incomprehensible catastrophe that will result in the total destruction of the World Trade Center towers, killing his wife. The stranger enlists Kyle’s help to avert a disaster that will occur the following morning – on 9/11.

The first book in the Time Tunnel series, “Time Tunnel: The Twin Towers,” re-imagines 9/11 as a critical inflection point in time, the outcome of which the government determines must be altered in order to reverse the course of the American empire.

Title: Outstanding writing and a thoroughly satisfying Read A+++++!!!!!
Review: Richard Todd has proved he is a consummate master of words. This book is so well written it easily proceeds as a dramatic and an action-packed movie in your minds eye! Through gradual and meaningful encounters, Todd builds his main characters. I could NOT put this book down! The combination of detail- rich history and unexpected character turns make it all the more real. I’m off to the next book in this series, but at the same time, I feel I could fall in love with this book all over again in a second read. Thoroughly recommended for time travel fans, history buffs and anyone who lived through the events of 9/11 and wishes things could have turned out differently. Thank you so much!!!

Title: Adult fantasy of revenge against the Twin Tower Terrorists from 9/11
Review: This is the first book in a series of at least three books that use the umbrella title "Time Tunnel". The first book "The Twin Towers" clearly sets up the series, as an adventure to build a time machine at great expense, from the tech recovered and discovered with the TWO Roswell saucer crashes of 1948. Most of the book is spent giving the back story to each of the main characters, and moving them around the chessboard, until everyone has a stake in trying the time tunnel machine for the very first time. The mission is to intercept and eliminate each of the Bin Ladden terrorists just prior to 9/11/01. The book is written well, with short chapters for the most part. As the final build-up to operation of the Time Tunnel is approaching, the pace and the tension picks up, making for a swift and satisfying conclusion to the adventure... but clearly setting up the immediate need for the second book "Empire", with a cliff hanger. As mentioned in the title, this is an adult fantasy of "What could have happened to prevent the 911 event" and the prose stops just short of cheering when the terrorists are confronted. However, the success of the mission is not without cost, and each twist along the way increases the suspense and the climax.I will caution that this is an adult book, with clear depictions of sex, killing, blood and language periodically thrown in... so I cannot recommend this as a Young Adult book. It is for adults...those of us old enough to remember 911 and how it really went down. And, although nothing but the title is retained, those of us who remember Irwin Allen's "Time Tunnel" TV series. Something always seems to go wrong, forcing the team to keep jumping from time to time. That being said, the clues to future plots, based in incidents and remarks made in this first volume, are abundantly clear, as from the first chapter, I could see the necessity for the storyline to circle around and return to that point in time. Likewise, developments that threaten to derail the mission have been sprinkled through this volume and clearly will pay-off in either the second or third volume. It's an enjoyable ride, although not much deeper than a rah-rah session to "Kill the terrorists...avenge our lost ones"... but it did hold my attention right to the end of the first volume. I will probably seek out and read the second, if not third volume, if only to see if I spotted the unexplained clue correctly.A good fun read, but don't look too deep for deep meaning or an examination of the human condition.

Review: Excellent. I enjoyed this book so much. Twists and turns kept me entertained. Tears are streaming down my face, I don't know whether in sadness or joy. You read those words, must read. You will be rewarded if you need them.

Title: Fantastic Book!
Review: What a fascinating idea... of all the recent events that have taken place in the United States, 9/11 is still the most hurtful and hardest to wrap my head around. The loss of life and tragic stories of that day still haunt me.But what if that day could be changed in the past? What if 9/11 was just another day and not one remembered for massive casualties and terrorist attacks? Author Richard Todd creates a story where Delta Operator Kyle Mason is sent back in time and fights to stop 9/11 as we know it.I’ll admit I was a little nervous to read a story about the twin towers. I was worried that even if written well, it might be disrespectful to the victims and heroes of that day. I was nervous for no reason. The author uses action, humor, and historical references to make the story respectful and entertaining. Some of the scenes were written so well I had goosebumps imagining what the actual people in the real situations went through. The hero, Kyle Mason, was a solid character with an awesome back story. The explanation of time travel was fascinating and well thought out.I can’t wait to read the second book in the series. I’m definitely recommending this to my like minded friends.

Title: Enjoyable read, not quite as good as prior story.
Review: Lots of action, story does not blend together as well as I would like. Perhaps continuation in next book will bring things together better.

Title: OH, IF ONLY…
Review: As I read the climax of the book I found myself cheering as Mr. Todd’s characters did their thing. The trauma our country went through with the 9/11 attacks all came back as I recalled the helplessness we all felt as we saw the horror live on t.v. The level of research that Todd must have engaged in to write this book really paid off in making the reader re-live that day and imagine how they might have reacted to the news of the outcome of this unlikely but thoroughly enjoyable ride. There are some slow moments as he builds his character’s back story but I can see how this all adds to the measure of empathy the reader feels for them as they go through their experiences that culminate in a very satisfying ending! I am left with one small request of Mr. Todd: More like this please.

Title: Warning for Snowflakes
Review: If you're a conservative white male, you're not going to like this book. It's replete with strong women who beat the crap out of misogynists. Oh, yeah, and the author pulls no punches in rightly positing 9/11 as the beginning of America's sad decline. Sadly, even if you're a dyed in the wool liberal, you're going to have a hard time liking this book. At least three quarters of it is back story -- Roswell, the Texas Tower massacre (?!?!), Desert Storm, 9/11, the botched hunt for OBL -- with which we are all well-acquainted. Plus the just plain dumb bits (no one was driving a Lexus in 1985 because they weren't introduced until 1989, you don't have to say a 40s phone was "rotary dial," touch tone hadn't been invented yet.) Otherwise, it is occasionally engaging, with just enough interest in the principal characters to hold your interest, along with the corker: will they succeed and how will they manage it?

Review: Area 51 AND time travel AND 9/11: what more could someone want? Admittedly a bit cartoonish it nonetheless provided a much needed respite from heavier material I’ve been reading lately. Highly recommended for those so-inclined.
