Title: First impressions: This product works well and packs a punch.
Review: I've been taking B12 shots for the past few weeks, and found them to be beneficial. I started looking for an alternative because:1) Shots are expensive. (The ones I've been getting from my naturopath are $15 each. That adds up!)2) B12 may be "natural," but needles aren't. Something bothers me about the idea of trying to fortify my health by jabbing a sharp metal tube under my skin and giving myself an injection.3) They can hurt, if you inject them in an area that has a lot of nerve endings.3) With needles, there's a possibility of infection or complications.4) Many injectable formulas contain cyanocobalamin, not necessarily the best kind of B12 to take.SO WHAT ARE THE ALTERNATIVES?If you don't want to take B12 shots, you might consider:(1) B12 capsules and tablets (typical "vitamin pills" designed to be swallowed and digested)(2) B12 tablets (sublingual; designed to dissolve under your tongue)(3) B12 liquids and sprays (sublingual)(4) B12 patches (transdermal; the vitamin is absorbed through your skin)(5) B12 creams (also transdermal) (such as this one)The problem with item 1 (typical B vitamin pills) is that if you're not absorbing B12 from food, you're unlikely to absorb it from a tablets and capsules which, like food, end up in your digestive tract.Items 2,3,4 and 5 are all intended to bypass the intestinal tract (like injections) so in theory could result in better absorption. My experience with item 2, sublingual tablets, has been uneven. When I feel anything, it's a quick burst of energy that fades quickly. The ones I like best are the B12/folic acid/B6 tabs from Trader Joe's. But again, they're made from cyanocobalamin. And their effect doesn't seem to last.I've also tried item 3, sublingual liquids and sprays, but have not felt the same benefit I get from shots.B12 patches (item 4) are a popular alternative to injections. Some people like them a lot. But they can sometimes come off as they rub against clothing, or when taking baths or showers. And they're pretty pricey -- over $2 per patch, on the average. This is less than the cost of an injection, but still adds up. The cheaper ones have a reputation for not staying on, and for staining clothing and skin. This leaves item 5, B12 cream. Creams, like patches, deliver their product transdermally, through the skin. They're not patches, so you don't have to worry about them staying on.HOW THIS PRODUCT WORKSThe cream goes on pretty much like any hand lotion. The insert recommends rubbing it into the wrists, so I've been doing that that way. I roll up my sleeves, apply the cream to one wrist and rub with the other. There are visible blood vessels in the wrists, visible just under the surface, so I assume it's going rapidly into the bloodstream, when applied this way.The cream is a light pink in color (all B12 products have some "red" in them), and has a very faint fragrance, almost undetectable. Initially it's very visible on your skin, but if you rub it in again a few minutes after applying it, it won't be visible anymore. It feels a bit like applying a thin film of soap to the skin. One nice thing about this product, Vita Sciences Maxasorb B12 cream is that it contains methylcobalamin, which many people prefer to cyanocobalamin.MY EXPERIENCEMy first impression (on day 1) was of a jolt of energy. It felt as effective, and even faster acting, than the shots I had been giving myself. The second time I used it (day 2), I noticed a milder energy boost. It may be that my body was lower in B12 the first time, so the cream had a more noticeable effect. Still, I did feel something. All in all, my impression is that it works well, works quickly, and is an effective product. For those looking for an alternative to injections, it's worth trying.CAVEATSThe first time I pressed the dispenser, a tiny chunk came out. Apparently this is what was stuck in the dispenser. The second time, I got a large ribbon of cream. The third time, a big blob. The next couple of times, more ribbons of cream. It may be because the container is new; hopefully it'll settle into giving the same amount in each dose as the days go by. If I run into any other problems, I'll update this.

Title: Finally, a game changer
Review: My son has excema/ extreme dry skin on his hands and face that he scratches to the point of bleeding creating open wounds. I read some research that showed excema and atopic dermatitis could be an indication of a vitamin B deficiency so I looked into this product. This IS HEALING HIS SKIN like nothing else I have tried and I have tried a ton of things. The wounds are healing and in addition his skin feels sooo soft like baby skin should!! We are mostly using it once a day, at night before bed. The first couple of days after receiving the product I applied it morning and night. I’m amazed and I’m not exaggerating. A problem I have with other “excema” products is that my son screams that they burn but this product doesn’t bother him at all! He loves that it’s pink and it has a minty smell which I imagine feels good on his itchy skin. I will be buying again!

Title: Gave me a lot more energy
Review: I have pernicious anemia. I went through a period where I did B12 shots every day and then once a week. This got to be an expensive option. Not to mention the shots do not feel good. I tried oral B12, but, that gave me some nasty side effects. So, I have been going without B12 supplements for a while. A coworker talked me into trying this product and it has been a godsend. No nasty side effects, goes on easily and absorbs quickly. There is no oily residue left over, nor does it feel like anything is on my skin.I usually put one squirt on my wrists and one on my stomach then rub them in. I haven't had this kind of energy in a long time. I am able to stay up later at night and not feel too tired. I forgot to apply it one day and it felt like I was dragging the whole day. I will never say one thing will work for everyone, but, this product has worked very well for me. I hope to get my levels tested by my Dr. soon to see if this has raised my levels. but, for now, the improved energy is enough to make me reorder when the time comes.

Title: Light fresh scent
Review: I like the feel of this lotion, it goes on easily and rubs in quickly without leaving a sticky residue. It's pink when it comes out of the pump but the color disappears when rubbed in. It has a light fresh scent. The pump dispenses the same amount each time so it is easy to get the "dosing" right.

Review: But I couldn’t tell if it’s effective

Review: I was concerned that I maybe wasn't getting enough B vits however, despite buying a good brand of multi B vits, they upset my stomach. I then tried sublingual drops but even they didn't agree with me. I wasn't too keen on wearing patches, which left this cream. I was a little concerned at trying to absorb a vitamin through the skin but then I do know that a large percentage of what you put on your skin is absorbed into the blood stream. So I began putting the recommended dosage of two shots of the cream onto my wrists and lower arms. It's taken a few weeks but I do notice a subtle difference in my energy levels, particularly I don't seem to get the usual three o'clock slump. I'm just so pleased that this cream is available for those people who are sensitive and can't take capsules and drops. I've already purchased again and this will now be a regular for me.

Review: Just received this cream to use on my eczema and was disappointed to see a long list of ingredients which includes peppermint oil which is not tolerated on my very sensitive skin.I bought this product because I was told that vitamin B-12 was good for eczema and the product is advertised as a superior form of b-12 nothing about the all the other ingredients.

Review: (cfs sufferer) Can feel it working, improves my listnessness. I've tried lots of forms of methylcobalamin delivery and it certainly works, but so does grinding up a tablet in some coconut oil or dimethylsulfoxide and smearing it on your arms. Guess which is more cost effective. Hopefully with the market being flooded with various new innovative forms of delivering methylcobalamin the prices will eventually fall to something more reasonable? The more acute the dose the better, in my experience.Knocked off two points because of the folic acid. I look forward to finding a cream or patch one day that leaves out all forms of folate, even 5-mthf, as I like to control that variable separately. And maybe includes lithium, nickel, zinc, and histidine as these are needed for transport or binding of b12.

Customers say

Customers like the effectiveness, skin care, and energy level of the vitamin. They mention it works well, helps with itching, and heals. Some also say it gives them energy much better than the pills. Customers are also happy with the scent, absorbency, and quality of the cream.
