Title: The best cook book ever!!!
Review: I first encountered Jackie Newgent at a healthy cooking class she taught in Manhattan. It was the best cooking class I had ever taken. There was a whole lot of recipes that were divided amongst all of us there. She had an easy going attitude- what I call a "jazz attitude." What I mean by that is that she turned any "mistakes" into other possibilities so that everything worked. I felt there was no stress in her class, and frankly, that has not been the case in many of the other classes. She obviously knows so much about cooking and about healthy eating. At the end we ate an incredible smorgasbord of different and delicious things that we made. And, all of the dishes were low calorie and they were not that difficult to do.From that class I was inspired to buy her "1000 Low-Calorie Recipes" cook book. I also bought a copy for my sister. So far I've made the following from it:Autmn parsnip pureeCaramelized red, white and yellow onion soupMushroom herb sautéMiso dressed vegetablesBanana nut smoothie100 calorie dark chocolate chip cookiesBaba ghanoushGinger chicken , broccoli etc stir frySticky Lebanese cinnamon chickenApple compotePoblano corn soupzesty lemon squaresEvery single dish I've made, except one, has been incredibly good. I am a total believer in the talents of Jackie Newgent. By the way the one dish that I didn't like probably wasn't good because I changed the recipe so much. (I didn't have what I needed). Anyway, look at that list of stuff I've made so far!!!The book is set up beautifully as well. It's easy to follow and it tells you all you need to know about the portions and calories, etc.I am planning on taking more classes with her and cooking more from her book. So if you just need me to spell it out for you, if you are interested in cooking healthy and delicious than buy this book. Period.Enjoy.Janice

Title: Enough Recipes to Last a Lifetime!
Review: In this latest book by the terrific RD chef, Jackie Newgent, you'll find more recipes than there are days in the year! What makes this book different from so many other cookbooks out there is that not only do the recipes look tempting and delicious, but they're created with nutrition and health in mind. The recipes incorporate a lot of common foods and ingredients, but integrate them with a special twist. I can't wait to try many of them out, and I'm sure my family will love them as much as I will! Thanks, Jackie, for another great cookbook! This RD gives it 5 stars!

Title: Not what I expected
Review: I purchased this cookbook after previewing it online. However, the recipes are more elaborate with longer ingredient lists than I anticipated. It is comprehensive and includes all nutritional information, but I wanted recipes for quick, low-calorie meals. These recipes require time and a well-stocked kitched to prepare.
