Title: Well done, but...
Review: Firstly, the book is big, well made, a beautiful picture on the cover that is actually textured with smooth nearly flat outlines of the decorations on the cake. The pages are not cheap and the font is acceptably sized in my opinion. Not to mention the fact that there are pictures for everything.My issue is the quality of said pictures. You remember tv in the 90's? That tv picture quality was about 480 to our now 1080p or 4k high definition. After 480 we got 720 picture quality in tv's and computers. Okay, still with me? This book has a few 480 but more 720 quality pictures. The picture of the chocolate cake with caramel drizzle is so color saturated the cake looks black, and not in a good deep dark chocolate way. The picture of the chocolate cupcakes are also very dark and dull. The paper here seems to have a semi-sheen on it which is nice, but I think gloss pages would have been nicer. I'm just surprised that the picture quality isn't hd. But like I said most of the pictures are more 720 quality and I appreciate that.

Review: Love the variety of recipes. There are sections on cakes, cupcakes, cookies, brownies & bars, pies & crisps, muffins & coffee cakes, scones, icebox desserts, and banana pudding. Plus there is information on tips and techniques and base recipes like chocolate wafer crumb crust, apple filling, cinnamon crumb topping and more!Easy to follow recipes with pictures. Highly recommend it for home bakers.

Review: I had high expectations about the recipes of this book. I’ve never tried the chocolate chunk caramel sea salt cookies in their bakery, and I really doubt this is the real recipe. I can say I am an experienced baker and there are thousand other cookies better than this one.

Review: Normalerweise kaufe ich keine Kochbücher aber in dem Fall habe ich eine Ausnahme gemacht da ich alle Rezepte bzw möglichst viele der Magnolia Bakery gesammelt auf einen Blick haben wollte. Die Amerikanischen Messangaben stören mich nicht, kann man leicht über Google umrechnen. Das einzig Negative ist das Tortenkapitel - da werden Seitenweise mit der selben Torte unterschiedliche Buttercremesorten/Icing aufgelistet - fand ich unnötig - diese hätten man in einem eigenen Kapitel machen können. So haben wir die Schokotorte 10x mit unterschiedlicher "Aussendeko" 🙄 lieber wären mir 10 unterschiedliche Tortenrezepte gewesen. Der Rest ist tadellos, ganz tolle Rezepte für Cheatdays - wobei ich versuche tw die Zutaten auszutauschen als vegan oder Keto - ist aber nur ein Experiment - ich backe die Rezepte auch 1:1 und sind ein Traum.
