Title: Fabulous Baking Book With Lots (!!!) of Recipes
Review: The book has a useful size with large, easy to read type, clear, concise directions, and organized in categories for easy access to the wonderful recipes. The index is also useful as an overall convenient guide to navigate the many baking techniques and methods. The book will lie flat when opened. The paper has a substantial weight and the matte finish lends itself to the beauty of the many detailed and dramatically lit photographs. The final section, âEssential Accompanimentsâ, is a great resource for making âflourishesâ to enhance the serving and enjoyment of the recipes. I made the Classic Scones, page 449. Superb !!!

Title: This Book Completely Misses the Mark!
Review: This book sounded so promising online. Upon inspection, was so completely disappointed! Where to startâ¦Letâs start with the photos. The photos in this book are so poorly composed, they do not tempt me or lure me in at all. And, there seems to be a recurring colorâ¦brown, brown and more brown. Also, the photo pages are of inferior quality - not the high gloss photos one would expect with such a recipe book.Next, letâs talk about the recipes. It bothers me that commercial names are used freely without giving credit where due. For example, âFig Newtonsâ, âOreosâ, and âHo Hosâ. Come on guys, at the very least, these are homemade versions - or copy cat recipesâ¦letâs call it like it is.Along with the typos, I canât help but wonder how recipes would turn out. Not keeping it long enough to find out. Save your money, look elsewhere. Check out the âBake from Scratchâ volumes.
