Title: Love this bari much!!
Review: Wunnerful, wunnerful, wunnerful!I got my uke around 4 months ago, and used the internet to learn the basic stuff: how to read uke tabs, the major chords & a few others, simple strums, and the rudiments of fingerpicking. Utube has many really good tutorials. I had a great time noodling around, but most of the beginner's songs I found that for baritone uke were overly simplified arrangements - nothing I'd want to play for friends. This book has 30 good song arrangements that listeners may actually enjoy hearing!! Some are just 3 chords arrangements, others are more complicated, but they all have a pleasing musicality. The song selection is diverse: standards, country, folk & pop - up to the Beatles. Every song includes baritone tab charts to show the fingering for _every_ chord change, so you don't have to search it out somewhere else in the book, or in another book or online. This makes learning the chords MUCH easier and faster, and since some less common jazz chords are used in the arrangements, your chord vocabulary will grow, and even noodling around becomes much more interesting.I sure hope that we'll see a second volume of the Bari Best.

Title: Real Fun with Baritone Uke
Review: As a bassist who plays a little bit of guitar, I purchased a baritone ukulele, because I thought it would be a bit easier to transition to and play reasonably well. I bought Jumpin' Jim's The Bari Best at the same time (along with Hal Leonard Baritone Ukulele Chord Finder), and I'm glad I did: if you have experience as a musician, and want to move to a different instrument, this is a good choice. You start right in playing some great songs - "Lullaby of Birdland," "Crazy," "Tennessee Waltz," etc. - and, as another reviewer noted, building up your chord arsenal. The hardest thing for me has been getting used to reading treble clef. The point is that you can jump right into this book if you have musical experience, but if you don't, you should start with one of the primers first. Also, this book does not have tablature. That does not bother me, because figuring out my own fingerings is part of the fun; but if you refuse to learn to read music, this book will not suit you. The book also has some historical information about the baritone ukulele. Highly recommended for the experienced-but-new-to-uke player.

Title: Not for beginners
Review: Not for beginners. I have been learning and practicing with another beginners book but this one has different notation on the sheet music and chords that I've never seen displayed on chord charts for the baritone uke. Someday I hope to be practiced enough to be able to read and play from this book.

Title: Great book for the baritone ukulele
Review: I'm just learning to play the baritone uke and ordered the few materials I could find for a baritone. This is the only book that I keep using. It has a great choice of songs with really nice arrangements. Although I'm trying to memorize the chords, having them shown makes it easier to sound pretty good while still learning. I love this book.

Title: Good collection of material
Review: I'm not as hot on this as a lot of users are, it is a good collection of materials and they are arranged well but I just want to see more done for the baritone. There is such a lack of good materials for baritone players, a lot of beginning materials but little after that level. I'm surprised that no publisher has seized on that. Maybe because they think that baritone players are all guitar players as well. This book does fill a void, but it would be nice to see more intermediate and advanced resources for the baritone ukulele. This is still a good find.

Title: I love the song choices for the most part
Review: It has taken me a few months to be able to play the material in this book. Now that I have enough baritone uke chords under my fingers, I am REALLY appreciating this book. I love the song choices for the most part, and the harmonic choices for the chords are stretching my knowledge and getting me into the area of jazz standards on my baritone. I LOVE this book, and am glad that I waited to write the review. When you are ready to expand your chord knowledge beyond the simple I, IV and V chords, then you may just like this book as much as I do. It also helps that I am old enough to appreciate these tunesâ¦.but even if you are young and interested in learning jazz standards, this is a good book to begin that journey!

Title: Could only use some of the songs.
Review: It doesn't have as much content as I would have liked. My expectations were much higher for more tunes I could play.
