Title: Sustainably great shampoo
Review: Until I found this Ethique shampoo bar, I had never thought about all the industrial chemistry in regular shampoo. The chemistry is no good for your hair, while soaps contaminate surface water and threaten the existence of many wild animals. My old shampoo had 17 ingredients, mostly soaps and salts, with only 2 natural safe ingredients 9 (honeysuckle extract & aloe barbadensis leaf). The other 15 ingredients were industrial chemistry. In my experience, if you can't pronounce it, you shouldn't rub it onto your body. In contrast, this Ethique bar has 17 ingredients, none of which are environmentally destructive soaps & 7 are natural ingredients, including cocoa seed butter, coconut oil, lime oil, cinnamon bark extract, ginger root powder and epsom salt. It's also palm oil free, which helps to reduce giant palm tree plantations in developing countries to sell palm oil to Western companies instead of growing their own food sustainably. I use the Sweet & Spicy for fine hair and I love it. It smells great without being overpowering. One caution: it is a very soft shampoo bar. So you have to set it up to dry after showering or it will stay soft and tend to melt. And it cleans great. I wipe the bar across my wet hair 2-3 times then wipe the bar dry and it lathers up easily. And the bar lasts a good long time: I shampooed daily with it for 5 months (157 days, to be exact, sometimes shampooing twice a day in hot weather) until it was gone. So if you are looking for a great natural shampoo bar and love your Mother (Gaia, that is), this is the bar for you. Highly recommended.

Title: Amazing Relief for Itchy Scalp!
Review: The Ethique Heali Kiwi Shampoo Bar has been a game changer for my dry, itchy scalp. After trying numerous shampoos, this solid bar has really made a difference. It leaves my scalp feeling calm and itch-free, and my hair feels soft and clean without any residue.I love that it’s vegan, eco-friendly, and plastic-free, making it a sustainable option without sacrificing quality. The bar lasts a long time, lathers well, and has a subtle, pleasant scent. If you struggle with dry, flaky, or oily scalp issues, I highly recommend giving this a try—it works wonders!

Title: This Stuff Rocks
Review: Not that this doesn't have enough positive reviews already, but it's really pretty spectacular. 10/10 would recommend and will be repurchasing.Reasons why this is the best stuff ever:IT WORKS. Which....enough said right? I've got thin, frizzy/wavy hair. It's bleach damaged and dyed over on the bottom, but oily on the top. I usually wash every other or every third day. The stuff I was using before was something my hairdresser scared me into purchasing after she did what she could for my ends. It set me back 70$ for shampoo and conditioner, which was obscene, and I still needed multiple after-shower products to get my hair to act right. Before trying these bars I felt like those were just going to be the consequences of having damaged my ends so badly, but I decided I really wanted to try a different product because, yikes. I've used the San Clemente shampoo and the Guardian conditioner for the last 3-4 months. I'm not going to say I have a whole new head of hair or it's magically thicker or anything like that, but it does look shiny and healthy. It dries wavy/curly like it's supposed to and not in the tortured part straight/part frizz/part curly beast nonsense it was doing with the other products. I don't have to put two after-shower oils into it to be able to brush it. Bottom line, this stuff works well at a price I'm willing to pay. But it's got a bunch of other cool stuff going for it too:Additional Reasons Ethique is the Greatest:- It lasts FOREVER. For real. I'm well past the 3 month mark and maybe about halfway through? I thought the three bottle thing was a massive exaggeration, especially after seeing the size of these bars, but it's really holding true for me. I sit it on the ledge in front of the window in my bathroom in a little silicone soap tray I got from WalMart for like 3 bucks that lets the bottom dry out, and that’s enough to keep it from melting.- It's natural and biodegradable- you can collect your grey water and use it in the garden. You can go camping and not feel guilty about washing your hair (not in a water source, folks). Packaging is 100 percent compostable. It's palm oil free and they try to get their ingredients from companies who treat their employees reasonably and use resources sustainably. They’re great. -Literally, the only green issue I've got is that there's obviously a significant carbon footprint associated with shipping it to me, but if I only have to order it twice a year (or once, if I stockpile?) I feel like it probably evens out? I'm not losing much sleep over it.- Super transportable. I can throw this in my duffle bag for the weekend. I can take this on a carry-on no problem. It takes up almost no space and represents months worth of cleanliness. Which is freaking fantastic, because I'm a college student and we're kind of migratory by nature.- SLS Free! Silicone Free! PH Balanced! My hair is frizzy. It's chemically damaged on the ends. It's thin. And the dye on my ends is hiding a lot of sins. I cannot afford to be messing around with these other bar shampoos made out of soap that are all really alkaline. Dito for the whole baking soda method. Or the ones from LUSH masquerading as good things that are secretly out to destroy you and strip all color from your hair. Or the drugstore shampoos that promise silkiness only because they’re piling the plastics on.It’s a good shampoo full of good stuff that smells nice and is nice to your hair. Go for it. It won’t work miracles, but It does the job it’s supposed to do really well.

Title: Super sudsy!
Review: I honestly didn’t have high expectations for a shampoo in a bar (hello?!) but I was amazed at how good it works. Hair is great and super smooth. Mild to no scent, by the way. Just a few strokes will be enough to cover the whole scalp and hair (I have really long hair). So far I’ve been using it twice a week for about a month now. My only concern is that the shampoo bar softened quite quickly after a few uses and something tells me it won’t last 80 washes as noted on the packaging (won’t even get close to that).I will post an update when I’m down to zero 🙃

Review: I’ve been an SLS free liquid shampoo gal for some time.. which took an age to find the right one that didn’t leave my hair lank. But I began getting a dry scalp through autoimmune disease and menopause not helping. Nothing worked ! A shop bought GEL shampoo helped for a while then my scalp reverted to being a flaky itchy mess again (not dandruff)My hair being naturally blonde with natural white highlights, fine with medium texture. Oily roots and dry ends. Challenge was on!I don’t know how many shampoos bars I tried.. with most leaving my hair greasy within a couple hours and flat. Never mind the one advertised on social media beginning with K which appears all the hype… that left me with a waxy birds nest where I had to soak my hair in cider vinegar to get it out before I could move forwardAnyway .. thought I’d try this.Cleans my hair lovely and next day .. as normal.. I’ll put my hair up as looking a bit off (that’s normal for me)Leaves my hair feeling clean, and silky. my scalp loves it. No itchy mess, no flaking. Smells lovely and gentle enough I can wash my hair every day if I wantI do feel I need a tiny bit of conditioner on the ends thoughMy only gripe is … I can’t find a tin the right size to store for travel. Fine for bathroom storage but need something for travel

Review: This is gentle enough for everyday use but cleans well enough for use every 2-3 days. I've used it according to both frequencies depending on my workout schedule.I love the smell and the texture it leaves my hair with. I can't believe it's been five months and I still have some left. There's no getting around the fact that once you near the end of the bar's life, it breaks into smaller pieces. A minor inconvenience and totally worth enduring for healthy hair and a plastic-free product.
