Title: Best Of The West
Review: I bought this cookbook along with 4 or 5 other cowboy/chuck wagon style cookbooks on Amazon. Of them all, this one is by far the pick of the litter. It is not only filled with a whole bunch of finger licking good old time recipes from beans and bacon to trailside stew, but its also chock full of all kinds of rare pictures and facts about our favorite TV westerns and movies from televisions golden age. Its fun, interesting, delicious, and well worth your money. No wonder it has become hard to find. There isn't another like it here or anywhere else I have found. Dang burn it.....Go for it!!!!!

Title: Paid for, but didn't receive hardcover
Review: Wonderful book, I've used it for years and wanted to get a second copy to donate to a fundraiser for a silent auction. BUYER BEWARE! I paid for a hardcover, which is pictured on product description. However, I only received a paperback with the red comb, (spiral bound) binding.

Review: This is fantastic it has a lot of recipes from western movie actors and family. And good stories too. Added information inside as well. I think amazon ought to place this in the western movies collection because I don't think people know about this book. There are a lot of pictures too. A great price and received it fast. If you love the westerns and love recipes you should get this you will enjoy it too

Review: This is a great cookbook, I love all the interesting information and notes on actors in the films from the old West and up through some pretty recent western actors. The recipes look terrific, my son collects this type of cookbooks and I love going through them before I give them to him. Thank you for a great cookbook. You can tell it is older but it is in great shape. I would buy here again. Thank you

Review: Here’s a neat idea, especially if you like cowboy food and you’re a country music and/or western movie fan. And even better still, if you like cooking! The idea was basically simple: roundup a number of singers and actors fitting the genres and ask them for their favourite recipes (or, perhaps, not so simple as authors Ken Beck and Jim Clark state in the introduction: “rather like trying to lasso a stray longhorn in the midst of a stampede” as the list of possible contributors was long and, some, not easy to contact). The completed work is impressive and providing menus that move from appetizers to desserts, the book takes in everything from soups to salads, beans to chilli’s, stews to meat joints, breads and beverages, and much more! Then come the stars’ connections and, throughout its 255 pages, there are numerous photographs, mini biographies, quotes, film and tv references, alongside ranch and historical listings, making the book much more than just a cook book! So if you fancy a casserole, battered fish, chilli, chicken and dumplings or cowboy coffee (or something stronger!), Marty Robbins, Tracy Byrd, Johnny Cash, James Arness, Rex Allen, Frankie Laine, Jack Elam, Randolph Scott and Roy Rogers are among the many offering tasty advice. (Originally published in 2000, the book is still available and in a paperback edition!).

Review: A friend showed me a copy of this recipe book when I complimented him on his fab homemade chilli. I have subsequently bought the All American Cowboy Cookbook as the ideal gift for my cowboy-film-mad brother. The combination of authentic recipes married with great photos and stories around now classic cowboy films is unique and quite fascinating. Whether you cook any of the recipes or not, I'd defy anyone leafing through its pages not to be drawn into the tales and pictures. Its an interesting read, a conversation starter... would make a good coffee table or perhaps in this case, kitchen table book!
