Title: Great travel guide for NY city
Review: This book was great as a guide for the city. I had never been before and I used this book every day. I even did most of the things suggested on the 5 day visit page, changing up days to fit what I was doing. I already had tickets to 3 shows. 2 on Broadway and the Metropolitan Opera. The book advises to go to big tourist sights early in the day. Great advice. I traveled during the Christmas holiday - super busy time to go. But did the Empire State building first thing in the morning and had the place to myself and maybe a hand full of other tourists. Really lovely. Statue of Liberty is a must first thing in the morning too. Take the first boat if you can. My ticket was actually for the second, but they let me on the first anyway. So get there early. It turns into a mob scene later on. Great guide! Not in the guide however is the newly opened mid-century Terminal 5 at JFK airport. A hotel has opened up there called the TWA hotel. It is worth a look. They have men and women in the old TWA uniforms and captains uniforms that walk around the terminal. The hotel has 2 wings on either side of the hotel. If you fly in or out of JFK and you can afford a night at the hotel, it's worth it.

Title: Good guide book becomes even better.
Review: I read this book in its 2019 edition from library and decided to buy one copy myself. While searching for the book online, i found this 2020 edition at even better pricing! My family visited nyc twice already and myself been there a few more times for different occasions. As kids are older and more curious to explore other destinations nyc offers, we decided to go again and started looking around for latest guide book for formation and ideas. This book has good balance of overview info and in-depth details. With online resources so readily available, the last thing i need is a lazy compilation of free online info thrown into a book form as some other books do. This DK book shows great effort, with magnificent 3-d maps, building plans and stunning photos. DK books used to be a little too bulky and heavy to bring with me to the trips, but still great for plan for the trips. This new edition has changed for even better, in my humble opinion: itâs printed on non-glossed papers so its not as unwieldy as before. I am using it for planning for next trip to nyc and I will bring it along with me as well!

Title: A must have for first time visitors.
Review: I have several of these books they are GREAT for trip planning to new places. My favorite feature are the itineraries for 2,3,or 5 day trips. Planned out with great thought on how to see the most iconic locations comfortabley within your time frame the itineraries are perfect for first time visitors. The detail and the insider tips on everything from food to transportation to destinations (bonus: a section with suggestions for visiting on a budget) make the series a must have for any traveler.

Title: The Best
Review: The DK guides are what I consider the best out there and I own quite a few (2 older NYC editions + London & various other cities over 25 years). It's the pictures, maps, and dazzling blow-out diagrams that put them head and shoulders above the rest.I am however a bit disappointed in this most recent NYC guide. It's smaller and more compact with thinner page and cover stock (not bad), but sadly they've reduced the font to an almost impossibly small and narrow proportion - especially for this traveler over 60. I dare anyone at any age to read this in a moving vehicle - kind of important for a travel guide. At least there's a flap in the back cover if I decide to carry a flat magnifierThe included laminated map has always been a brilliant addition for plotting sites with my own wipe-off marker - I've easily folded, mangled, and jammed these maps into so many pockets over so many visits and they still spring back like new. Looking forward to using this guide to plan my latest NYC adventure at the end of this year - fingers crossed.
