Title: Moneyball... kid's style!
Review: Ok, Moneyball and Little Big League covered different areas in baseball, but there are some noted similarities. Both movies take the audience behind the scenes for a look at day to day operations, dialogue between manager and GM, trades, cutting players, conversations with players, big games, pivotal moments, and so on. Little Big League holds its own as the young manager, Billy, finds his way in his new role, and it's enjoyable to watch. The way Billy handles himself in team meetings, pulling a disgruntled pitcher from the game, and benching a player (Timothy Busfield) for dating his mom are classic, so treat yourself to this Minnesota gem. Timothy Busfield moves one state north after Field of Dreams...and those Twins fans who loved the '87 and '91 championship teams will love this, reliving Metrodome era Twins baseball.

Title: My family's favorite baseball movie.
Review: It was a toss up between this and "The Rookie." "Little Big League" barely won. A great show. It's also nice to see a team that isn't from NY or CA be the focus of a show.

Title: I Love Fun
Review: "Little Big League" is an amusing, appealing, authentic-looking baseball comedy that the family can enjoy together. As an English teacher in China, I was thrilled to discover that the DVD has Chinese subtitles. I've used "Little Big League" to teach English and introduce hundreds of students to baseball and it never fails to be a crowd-pleaser. It somehow manages to capture a lot of the pull of the game. The baseball scenes look great and the math problem scene is hilarious. The movie also makes good use of the song "Centerfield". It's rated PG for a small amount of profanity and sensuality.
