Title: Works Perfectly!
Review: Bought this because I have the mower also. It was less expensive because I donât need another battery. I just use the one I use for my mower. It works great, as advertised. Easy to set up. I recommend buying eye goggles with it.

Title: Powerful trimmer but a bit heavy
Review: I'm really impressed with the power of the EGO string trimmer. It cuts through tough weeds and grass with ease, and I was able to get my entire yard done in one go, much faster than with my previous two trimmers. The battery life is excellentâit lasts much longer than my old trimmers, which is a huge plus. The only downside is that itâs a bit heavy, especially if youâre carrying it for an extended period. However, the performance and efficiency more than make up for that. Overall, I'm very satisfied with this purchase and would definitely recommend it!

Title: Would of, could of, should of
Review: So sorry that I didn't purchase this earlier. This truly is a fantastic product. The line trimmer shares a battery with my leaf blower which I have the large battery size which adds some weight, but the trimmer itself is amazingly light. There are two speeds that you can choose from, but I always just run the line trimmer on the lower speed and use the variable speed trigger to fine tune the speed that is just right for the project at hand. The trimmer automatically dispenses line when the line gets short. I thought that was going to be a hassle and didn't expect it to work, but much to my surprise, it works incredibly well. Overall, very pleased with this product. Have used the trimmer quite a bit now and have nothing but good things to say about it. EGO really has their stuff figured out.

Title: Line IQ Overrated / Where's the Strap
Review: NOT SURE ABOUTS:~Line IQ releases line intermittently which makes a sudden increase in cutting force and diameter which can lead to gouging the grass. I thought it would be smooth gradual release buts its more like 10 seconds of cutting and then sudden extension, and you have to quickly pull back to avoid gouging, which makes it hard to do a long smooth edge. My black and decker also had a similar periodic release of line that wasn't that smooth. Expected this to be better.Update: On a second week run I had less issues, maybe the line settled in and the release of line was much less noticeable. I changed nothing about the machine except maybe the battery was less charged. That could have dampened the intensity of the release.~The power load didn't work the first try, it just made noises. But took the line out and tried again and it worked.NEGATIVES-With a 5.0 battery this thing is definitely heavier than my black and decker electric so they really should have included the strap. 25$ is insane markup for a 25 to 50 cent manufacturing cost. They give you the strap bracket but no strap. You can buy another brand strap for 10$ and I did, but shouldn't of had to.-My black and decker also has a wheel for sidewalk edging so you can just roll down the sidewalk for a consistent cut. This would help with the weight and control.POSITIVES+It does have plenty of power compared to my B&D and does run forever. The B&D needed 3x 2.0ah batteries to do its job. One EGO 5.0 battery let me mow, hedge trim, weed trim and do some blowing before it got weak.+The power trigger and safety is a really great and light design. The B&D would cramp my hand after a few minutes, the spring was so strong, so much so that I put a clamp on it permanently while I'm working.+Lower handle rotates easily for switching to edge trimming. Don't even need to unlock and relock if the tension is set right. However its a bit awkward when using a strap.

Title: Great trimmer, no more bumping
Review: I love this trimmer. It is powerful, and easy to use. The battery lasts super long. I live that you donât have to mix oil and gas, just connect a charged battery and go. Not having to constantly bump to restore the thread is the best part of all. You canât go wrong with this thing, it is better than a gas trimmer in every way.

Title: So heavy
Review: I bought this because it seemed to have great reviews, and I was pretty happy with my Ego mower. I also really wanted the automatic line feed, and I thought Ego was the only brand that has that feature. But actually it isn't, there are other (cheaper) brands that have that feature as well. This trimmer is extremely heavy, in my opinion. I have a smallish city lot, and I just used it to trim the edges, but I was pretty miserable while I was doing it. Despite its size and weight, it's also weirdly short. I'm 6'2, and I think this would only be comfortable for people under 6' or so. I had to lean forward while I was using it, and with its weight, it becomes uncomfortable very quickly.I did consider ordering the strap (which they really should include, if they want it to be this heavy), but because I need to lean forward when I use it, I suspected it would still be uncomfortable. Luckily Amazon was kind enough to accept the return even though I had used it (I asked before sending it back). If Amazon wasn't going to accept the return, I was already prepared to sell it at a loss as a used item. But I appreciate Amazon taking it back for a full refund.I ended up getting a Black & Decker trimmer, which also has the automatic line feed feature, and it also has a wheel on the side so you can use it as an edger. The Black & Decker trimmer I got is about half the weight, and it cost about half the price. A much better value for a much lower price than the Ego.

Review: Purchased to replace a Cub Cadet SS270 trimmer. This trimmer has much more power than the gas model I replaced. A really nice feature is the design of the head. The head (unlike my Cub Cadet) has no place where long grass can get caught up and tangled, which was a frequent issue with the Cub Cadet. I've been using with a 5ah battery from my leaf blower, which gives it plenty of power to complete all trimming on my 1+acr property (at least 1.5 hours on a charge, but never ran out yet). I'll be looking to purchase a 2.5ah battery to make the overall unit a little lighter, but with the 5ah it's still not as heave as the gas model. Not having to keep and mix fuels is also nice
