Sip and Taste Your Way Through Austin
Prohibition Creamery
Prohibition Creamery takes two things we all love (ice cream and bourbon) and mixes them together to create their classic boozy ice cream flavors. Mix and match flavors and toppings to try scrumptious scoops, shakes, floats, and malts.
Café Josie
The bar menu is made to complement the tasting menu. Explore wine from around the glove and right here in Texas hill country. The cocktails are highly approachable but offer unique twists on standard favorites: The Old Austin is Café Josie’s Texas take on an old fashioned, but with added notes of pecan for a unique twist.
Franklin Barbecue
Behold, the king! Franklin Barbecue , named after its founder, pitmaster Aaron Franklin, is on everyone’s radar, and for good reason. The brisket is melt-in-your-mouth tender, and Franklin Barbecue has won just about every major barbecue award there is, including a James Beard Foundation Award for Best Chef: Southwest and inclusion in Texas Monthly’s “50 Best Barbecue Joints in the World”.
La Condesa
This is one of the few restaurants in Austin where I enjoy the bar experience just as much as the actual restaurant. The starters are creative and satisfying as appetizers for a meal, or perfect as a small meal enjoyed at the counter. Try all four creative flavors of guacamole in the guacamole tasting, the bright tiradito ceviche with Hamachi, ginger, and charred scallion vinaigrette, or the Zanahoria Salad with roasted Texas carrots and crispy quinoa.

Got the book in the mail recently and it has great photos and write ups and a nice quality feel in your hands. We have been marking the places we want to try next time we get to Austin!!!
