Trisha Yearwood, host of Food Network’s Trisha’s Southern Kitchen, is adored by fans as one of country music’s top stars, but among family and friends, Trisha Yearwood is best known for another talent: cooking.

Throughout her life–from her humble roots in Georgia to her triumphant recording years in Nashville and a fulfilling married life with husand Garth Brooks in Oklahoma–Trisha has always enjoyed feeding those she loves. Now she dishes up a collection of more than 120 of her go-to recipes in a tribute to both home-grown cooking and family traditions.

Trisha believes a recipe always tastes better when it has a memory attached to it. Here, she teams up with her mother and sister to share their family’s best-loved recipes. This is the kind of classic comfort food you’ll want at the heart of your own family’s mealtime memories. Inside is a full menu of Southern fare with a contemporary twist. But you don’t have to be a Southerner to enjoy Yearwood family favorites such as:

Trisha’ s Chicken Tortilla Soup
Gwen’s Fried Chicken with Milk Gravy
Stuffed Pork Chops
Breakfast Sausage Casserole
Blackberry Cobbler
Banana Pudding

Along with the recipes for inviting soups, textural salads, home-style family entrées, colorful side dishes, and irresistible desserts, Trisha shares everything from charming personal anecdotes to practical advice, time-saving tips, and creative ingredient substitutions to accommodate all tastes.

With full-color photographs taken in and around Trisha’s homes and a foreword by Garth Brooks, this soul-warming slice of Southern life will delight country music fans and home cooks alike. Best of all, this is un-pretentious food that is easy to put together, satisfies even big country appetites, and tastes like home. Trisha’ s warm evocations of pre-paring food for loved ones will transport you back to your own childhood. These are recipes you’ll enjoy with your family for years to come.

Title: Delicious and simple.
Review: I love Trisha Yearwood and I love her cookbooks, all three of them. I have a couple cookbooks by some current and very popular TV chefs/cooks, but can honestly say Tricia’s recipes are all I would need for the rest of my life for daily, delicious meals. I don’t even pick my other cookbooks up anymore. Trisha is my go to for fun and good cooking. And she has Christmas and Thanksgiving cooking and baking covered, too. My daughter who doesn’t cook, but eats my cooking from Trisha’s recipes, has she said if she could only have one cookbook in the world, it would be a Trisha Yearwood cookbook. Trisha’s cooking show is wonderful, too. She keeps everything simple and her steps are easy to follow. I especially love the way she brings her family on to the show. Her sister, Beth (love Beth, and she is on a lot) , uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews. Many of her family are also good cooks.

Title: A New Favorite
Review: I recently purchased Georgia Cooking in an Oklahoma Kitchen: Recipes from My Family to Yours after reading rave reviews about the book. I have not been disappointed! Trisha Yearwood has shared some of her family's favorite southern-style recipes and I think they will quickly become some of your favorites as well. All of the bases are covered in this book - from appetizers to salads, main dishes, casseroles, and all types of sweet cakes, pies, cookies and other desserts. A lot of the recipes are good basic recipes with a Yearwood twist. This would be a great wedding shower gift for the bride-to-be who enjoys cooking but at the same time it would not be intimidating for someone just beginning to experiment in the kitchen. There are lots of personal notes from Trisha, her mother, and sister as well as an introduction/forward by Trisha's husband, Garth Brooks. The photography is quite beautiful as well.I am so happy I decided to purchase this book and will ordering Trisha's new book Home Cooking with Trisha Yearwood: Stories and Recipes to Share with Family and Friendsvery soon!

Title: It’s an ok cookbook.
Review: I was hoping to find the recipes a bit more interesting. I know I’ll try something out of this cookbook, but I don’t think I will refer to it very often.

Title: Clear Instructions
Review: This is my second Trisha Yearwood cookbook. The recipes require ingredients that I would imagine most people have in their pantry, they are easy to follow, many tried and passed down from friends and family.

Title: Wonderful - Easy and Good
Review: Really well produced cookbook, lovely, great writing, funny stories - and the recipes are top! While I love Trisha's TV show (and duh, her amazing music) if this cookbook was not useful I would not have given it five stars. It is a very good cookbook. The author has some good salad recipes and an unfried chicken that is the real thing but without extra fat. Really nice family food in this book.

Title: Great Cookbook for Real People
Review: I am not a chef and I am not looking for complicated gourmet recipes, but in these days of pre-processed food, home cooking is becoming a lost art. I wanted a basic cookbook with down home recipes using basic ingredients that are easy to make and taste great. Bingo! A few recipes call for condensed soup but most are totally from scratch. An example of the recipes are buttermilk biscuits, fried chicken with milk gravy, meatloaf, BBQ ribs, stuffed pork chops and chicken and dumplings. The Chicken Pie recipe is so delicious and it's simple to make. I haven't tried the German Chocolate Cake that is Garth's favorite yet, but I hope to soon. Most of the recipes have an accompanying picture which is a nice feature. Trisha provides family stories behind the recipes and excellent little tips and tricks along the way. This cookbook is full of recipes that family and friends pass down to each other. Thanks Trisha for passing down yours.
