Title: Fantastic, built like a tank.
Review: Wow! I'm totally impressed. The build of these are unreal. Yes, they have some weight to them, but it's substance. The optics are really bright and clear. I had to adjust each eye-piece separately as my eyes aren't the greatest as I get older. The compass card is huge and easy to read, especially with the red LED night light. What a substantial set of optics. I had considered cheaper alternatives but the reviews convinced me to go with the real deal the first time, else I go through multiple purchases of cheap substitutes. These will no doubt outlive me; the case is great and I will eventually opt for the floating strap once I get out on the water this spring. I was following several pairs on eBay but the ending price of the auctions for used binoculars was so high that I figured brand new would be the way to go. I don't regret this purchase at all. This is a worthy investment as I plan on doing even more sailing where I'll need to read buoys and channel markers, take bearings, and look for shoals and rocks. I like to navigate by paper chart and do my own plotting and cross-bearings, relying on electronics as little as possible. If you take the plunge on these you'll never look back; these will definitely be going ashore with me so they don't "grow legs" while I'm off the boat. I could not justify the extra expense of the Commanders and didn't really want the rangefinder reticle to take up my whole viewfinder, as it is, the compass doesn't really block the image much. If these aren't military grade, I don't know what is. No buyer's remorse here!

Title: The gold standard since 2015!!!
Review: Prior to purchasing these binoculars, I did a thorough online research on it & its closest competitor, Nikonâs OceanPro.I had a few reservations particularly due to the price differences between the two. Doing a cursory side-by-side comparison they have several features in common. Each one has their own pro & cons and itâs up to the end user to ultimately decide which features best suits their needs. However, I would argue that more importantly are the practical features that do not appear on each of their description, mainly âPersonal fitâ. What I found based on a hands-on assessment is that the Steiner Navigator Pro was a better choice for me. The Steiner Navigator Pro was much easier to use, has better âEye Distance/Reliefâ, as well as better âInterpupillary Adjustmentâ. No matter how many adjustments I nor the salesperson tried neither one of us couldnât obtain a clear lens convergence with the Nikon OceanPro. Which made them for all intent purposes non-usable. I didnât have that issue with the Steiner. They are built like a tank, and they can handle any austere situation you may throw at them. This design hasnât changed since they were first developed in 2015. They been tried & tested and are the benchmark that all others competitors use and aspire to beat. Thatâs why military services around the world use Steiner binoculars.I guess my final tip is to avoid purchasing solely on technical data points but rather try (in person) as many binoculars as you can before you buy! But in the end Iâm confident that youâll end up choosing Steinerâs. Iâm very happy with my selection!

Title: This model is discontinued great way to buy a top quality binocular at a lower price
Review: Always wanted the Steiner military commander with compass but could not afford it. This is the civilian version for boaters much less expensive. They are heavy and bulky but do not feel heavy when holding to view through. These binoculars will out live me and the image is as good as it gets. My main use is watching the Bald eagles on my lake.

Title: Most amazing no-focus binoculars
Review: These are the most amazing binoculars-somehow everything is in focus past like 60 feet. We use them on our sailboat and they take all the annoying parts out of using binoculars- just look through and see what you need. Highly recommended and worth the price.
