The Premier Collar "Your Dog's Neck's Best Friend". With a leash or with your hand, the Premier collar tightens to give greater control and reduces the risk of escape. Because it offers limited closure, it's safer than a traditional choke collar . Unlike other collars, the measurement taken for the Premier Collar is at the top if the neck directly behind the ears. This corresponds with the size of the collar in the closed position, so it is not necessary to add inches. For example if your adult dog measures 14" directly behind the ears, choose a medium collar. Sizing recommendations 5"-8" Petite, 8"-12" Small, 10"-16" Medium, 14"-20" Large, 18"-28" Extra Large. Once you've selected the proper size, simply place the larger opening over your dog's head. Adjust to fit by pushing the nylon through the slide. When tightened with a leash or by grasping the smaller nylon loop like a handle, the two metal rings should touch directly behind your dog's ears. Attach tags to these rings rather than the D-ring. The smaller nylon loop will lie flat after few days of wear.

Title: Best Collar we tried for 10 lb chihuahua
Review: GET THIS ONE! 🙂 We tried other martingales with clips and other brands, and this is the best. We use the collar in combination with private/group training to prevent slipping out of collars. It is amazing. I can’t say that enough. Our chihuahua is 10 lbs and the XS works great. Her neck measure about 9-10 inches. It is very durable, easy to clean, and a good width for her neck size. I wish it came in different colors, but that is the only thing.

Review: When I fostered my chow chow in early April 2014, this was the kind of collar the rescue group had put on her. It is also the kind of collar they recommend in their adoption materials. So, when I adopted her in May 2014 I bought this collar for her. It's perfect for her.I like that the collar is adjustable so that she's never really choked by the collar. The collar tightens, but it only tightens until the square metal rings meet. This is different from most other choke collars that have nothing to stop them from choking as tightly as possible. This is a far more humane collar.My dog doesn't really pull on walks except when she smells something really exciting and she heels really well. I like that the collar is loose on her neck most of the time. I think it keeps her more relaxed on our walks. In fact, when I give her the slightest direction on the lead, she feels it and follows along. I have as much control over her movements as I do with a horse using its reins, and just as subtly. You wouldn't think that with a looser collar this would be true, but it is. Of course, all dogs are different.Another thing that makes this collar perfect for me and my dog is that I can use the loop as a short "handle" to help direct her when we're inside. She's totally blind, and she sometimes finds herself in a corner and can't find her way out. I only have to grab the loop and gently direct her in the right direction. Very helpful!I've hung her tags from one of the square metal rings. They're just fine there. In fact, better than fine. Since she's a chow, she has long hair. The tags are noticeable because they hang longer than they would on a tighter fitting collar. If she ever gets out of the house unattended, someone will be able to see all her information. I like that.Speaking of her hair, the collar doesn't seem to rub or break her hair off. I don't know if this is due to the material the collar is made of, or the fact that it's an inch wide, but I'm grateful.She's only worn this particular collar for 3 months now, but it's held up well. We've been caught in a rainstorm, and it dried out overnight. I've hand washed it in the sink with Dawn dishwashing liquid, and it looks like new. And with the matching lead, she looks like a princess!When this collar wears out, I'll replace it with another one just like it. Five stars.

Title: Perfect No-Slip Dog Collar
Review: I think I've left about 100 reviews on dog collars. I've been through many of them. So far this one has held up for about two months. One of my precious little sled dogs, named Coho, is the dog reincarnation of Houdini. She can escape harnesses, choke collars, leather collars, fabric collars, metal clasps, and plastic clips. You name it- she can maneuver her way out of it. This is the only dog collar I've ever used that she can't quite figure out how to escape from. They put some serious thought into this design and I love it.It slips on over the head and can then be tightened snug onto your pup. Coho is a relatively calm dog, so this was easy to do. But with other dogs who are more playful and energetic, getting them to sit still long enough to tighten this can be virtually impossible. I've had experience dealing with those pups too, but for this specific collar it went onto a dog that was really calm and she let me tighten it. 99% of the time it will remain in a loose state- which makes in comfortable for the dog to wear. But if the dog begins to pull, twist it's head, or try to escape, the collar tightens against the rope, leash, chain, or tie-line (whatever you're using). This makes it virtually impossible to escape from. This feature immediately made it five stars in my book. But what made it even better was the fact it's made out of thick, durable fabric that won't wear out easily. The clasps are metal- which means they won't break like plastic does. And the entire collar is made with quality in mind.The color of this collar is EXACTLY as pictured. It's a vibrant purple- almost lavender hue. Coho is a girly girl, but not really a 'pink' sort of dog. Purple was perfect for her! And it looks adorable contrasted with her black and white fur. Love the look! Love the quality! Couldn't have asked for a better collar. For the price it's unbeatable.

Review: We put this collar on our Podenco the day she arrived from the rescue shelter about 6 months ago, and it has not been off her since. It still looks as good as new with no wear to show what-so-ever. It is rarely used as a collar for walking because our dog is incredibly nervous so she requires a three-point harness for walking. That said, I think this collar is durable anyway. I guess that it is very comfortable for her to wear. She has never scratched at it, or attemped to claw at it. There is absolutely no rubbing underneath either, so no rash or fur problems at all. I highly recommend this Martingal collar by PetSafe.

Review: We have used the PetSafe Martingale Collars for years with all our dogs. No escaping from these! They last and last. We launder fairly regularly - just throw them in when we do our "dog" laundry. Excellent product and will continue to purchase as long as we have dogs! Love these collars!
