Title: Wish it was easier to find this stuff in the states..
Review: As far as middle-of-the-road pomades go, this one is a real winner.. Apparently from the late 19th century, It's not too stiff, it's easy to get through the hair, and it has pretty decent hold (not like murrays or the red dax but good for my needs - I have generally straight hair with tons of cowlicks and sweeps). The shine is decent, not extraordinary. It is said that Elvis used this stuff but frankly it doesn't really produce that much shine (which I was expecting based on that one fact).. No problemo for me though, I have plenty of light pomades and hair dressings which could fill that in, if needed. Frankly it's pretty good on it's own. The smell is interesting: Coconut, Vanilla, cinnamon?! something spicy, at least. Honestly it vaguely smells like a tres leches cake or something.. Whatever it is, it's fairly subtle. As with many medium hold (and the hard stuff) pomades, it's still a bit tricky to get this out in the shower, but if you're here reading this then that's probably what you want in a product like this anyway, so stay greasy! Anyway, this stuff is a real classic and if it were easier to get ahold of, I would use it all the time.

Title: Great stuff!
Review: I like several of the older hair products for a number of reasons: they're usually affordable, they have fewer ingredients, and they don't leave your hair hard and crispy. Black and White is one of my favorites. For context, my hair is thick, wavy, and coarse and has a mind of its own. I don't do anything spectacular with it -- typical contour haircut, short on sides and a bit longer on top. I know a lot of folks use B & W for pomps and slickbacks, but I was just looking for something to give my hair a bit of control and texture without it looking like a helmet. This stuff works perfectly and takes very little to get the job done. Very, very little. It smells great -- sorta coconut-y but not too strong at all unless you're laying it on thick. And it's a large 7-ounce container so I expect it to last a while. All in all, it's a great pomade and is now my go-to hair goop. And despite having to order it from England, it arrived promptly and in perfect condition. Would definitely order it again!

Title: The best original Pomade
Review: I discovered this hair product back in the mid 90's. The trendy old fashion styles that many younger guys are wearing now, I was already sporting back then and i needed good pomade, i found this by accident in a barber and hair salon supply shop. i wish i discovered it in the 80's when i was into the whole Rockabilly thing. It is a bit greasy and you don't need to use a lot, but just a little will do. It also has a coconut smell to, which i like. I moved across country and haven't been able to find this product in the city where i currently live, so i've had to purchase it online. For the price it's well worth it, this lasts me a long time, up to five months. For me it's simply the best.

Title: Great stuff
Review: This stuff works wonders. I have pretty thick hair and usually do a comb over style with my hair and I was looking for a product that was easy to use and keeps my hair up all day. The pomade is easy to spread across your hair and very easy to style. Keeps my hair up pretty good for a full day and makes my hair soft. The smell of the stuff is interesting. Some say it smells like hints of coconut and some told me it smells like baby wipes. The only con I find in this product that itâs kinda hard to wash off your hands.

Title: Very solid, classic, light hold pomade
Review: If you want something that's classic and works really well as a light holding pomade, it's this or Royal Crown. The scent is very pleasant, yet subtle. Applies with no resistance to the hair, even when the hair is dry. High shine and works well holding your hair as desired. However, I can imagine if you have hair that has a greater diameter (thick straight strands), curly or nappy hair, you're out of luck with this one.

Title: I love it!
Review: I've used it all, Murray's, Murray's Super Light, DAX, Layrite, Royal Crown, Brylcreem, Groom and Clean, and many more, just to try to get a good classic hairstyle. In my opinion Black and White beats them all. The scent is amazing, however the hold isn't too strong. I wouldn't recommend this if you have shorter hair especially on the sides. B&W probably is best for medium length to longer hair. The hold isn't too bad it just isn't as strong as Murray's (but then again nothing beats the hold of Murrays Superior) or other similar pomades. The shine is great. One of the best things I like about this pomade is that it washes out pretty easily. If you want to go for the Clark Gable or Cary Grant look, don't look anywhere else. Your hair will stay in form!If only I could find this in my local stores, oh well.B&W can't be bad if Elvis Presley used it!

Title: Doesn't let you down (but sticks around longer than needed)
Review: I decided to give this a try, as my hair is nearly impossible to tame with gel or mousse. I remember reading other reviews that this washes out completely, but for me it does not.Scent: The first day is great. The scent is the best combination of mineral oil and basic candle wax. For me, the second day isn't as pleasant, but I also have snakes, so it's likely the scents combined in an unfavorable way.Hold: My hair didn't budge at all once I smoothed it down, other than what my visor displaced. Very little transferred to my brush, unlike Magik & Royal Crown.Texture: The texture of Black & White is softer than Magik (nearly a solid Vaseline) but thicker than Royal Crown. Once worked into your hair, it has a slightly diffused shine.I might buy this again, but time will tell. I'm new to pomade, and my hair becomes more unruly as I get between "barely able to wear a hat" to when I can finally tie it all up.
Customers say
Customers like the hold, quality, and smell of the product. They mention it holds their hair style all day, has a perfect balance of hold and flexibility, and smells great. Some appreciate the shine, value for money, and softness. However, some customers differ on washability and greasiness.
