Title: Anker S500 - Amazing
Review: I purchased the Anker S500 to use at work, and it paired up almost automatically and the sound quality and build quality is very solid. A little disclaimer about me: I typically like name brands (Jabra, Bose, etc.), and I have always thought of Anker as an "Amazon"-type brand, but - I decided to go with this one because a team member has the same one and he swears buy it. Other people within my team have various portable conference room speaker/mic devices (Jabra, etc.) and hands-down, the S500 is a superior product. 80% of the time, my laptop is glued to my desk with dual 24" monitors and I use a bluetooth headset, but 20% of the time - I need to work remote and have TEAMS meetings with other people where we need conference room mic/speaker capabilities and up to this point, I have been using the built-in technology of my Dell Latitude (standard corporate issued) setup .. but, the new Anker S500 is loud and the microphone picks up voices while cutting out unwanted background noises (like dogs barking, overhead announcements, etc.). There are many other cheaper choices (and they may be equally as good), but if your budget can afford it, I would recommend the Anker S500. You will not be disappointed at the overall quality (you get what you pay for with this device.)

Title: Great! But needs IT support to set up
Review: I was going back and forth between a 4 and 5 star, but considering I have bought 3 of these Ankers, I decided to go with 5 stars. These Ankers work like a charm. Both the input and output sound is great quality, even from across the room. I use these with my virtual assistant. We have gone through a few microphone options and this one has been superior by far. The reason why I keep buying them is because they work so well.My only issue with the Ankers is they are super hard to set up. They will work when initially plugged in, but with subsequent uses there seem to be issues with the computer and also the computer programs being able to recognize it. I've had to have IT support help me set up all three Ankers I've purchased, which includes disabling any other sort of microphone connected to the computer and some other IT magic.

Title: Pretty good!!
Review: These are great and I sync two of them together but the suppression is too much and does not work that great in a conference room setting. The people on the other end always ask us to repeat ourselves whenever there are interruptions.

Title: Excellent Microphone and Sound
Review: The Anker PowerConf S500 stands out as one of the best microphones I have utilized for professional purposes. In our practice, a significant number of patient consultations are conducted via telehealth. Thus, securing a microphone capable of capturing voices from two doctors in the room during patient meetings has been a persistent challenge. Previously, our solution involved a complex, hardwired microphone system connected to an amplifier and then to a computer. Although effective, this setup was cumbersome due to the wires involved. The PowerConf S500 has impressively replaced the need for two microphones while enhancing sound quality. Its portability is a major advantage, allowing for flexible placement anywhere in the room to accommodate single or multiple doctors during consultations. Despite its slightly higher price point of approximately $210, the investment is justified by its performance and convenience.

Title: Very good at picking up distant voices, if one person speaks at a time
Review: The item has a weird secondary operational mode which prevents it from working as a speaker. Took me weeks to understand the issue. Was about to send it back for a refund. Just install the software on your PC and insure the proper setting is selected. The speaker phone has good wireless range, works well with MacBook Pro as well as iPhone, iPad, iPod.Speaker volume is not the loudest but was enough most of the time even in larger rooms. The microphone is VERY EFFECTIVE at picking up voices even at 10+ feet distance, and making them clear to remote participants.Edit after long term use:The microphone system is very effective at picking up clearly the voice of someone speaking at 10ft distance in a room with lots of echo, but performance drops to zero if there are multiple people speaking (of course it canât determine what is the voice to focus on and what to cancel out, so it sort of cancels everything).

Title: So close, but the one glaring bug destroys it all: Bugs with mute button sync
Review: Sound quality is great. Build quality is great. Usability is great. Except for one thing, the mute button. It tries to sync with your computer, in my case an iPad Pro, but fails.I use Microsoft Teams, and Anker has added cool tech to try to sync with the mute button. It would be okay if it wasnât there, or if it was and it worked, but the middle ground is the worst of all possible cases. The two devices start out in sync, but then gets out of sync, but then gets back in sync, and then out of sync, etc. I donât know where to look to see if I could talk, as everytime I hit mute on either Teams or the Device, the device tries to sync and changes. It makes it impossible to use this device. If this bug is fixed I would love it and give it 5 stars, recommending it to all who work from home. I reached out to Anker, but they responded with a thank you and thatâs it. So no luck. Iâm taking it back.

Review: Overall very satisfied with this unit. I keep it connected to my computer uisng the USB-C cable at the same time It's connected by bluetooth to my cell phone. Pairing easy, connects all the time. Sound is excellent when watching movies also. Highly recommend. Cannot comment on duration of the battery since I use it almost always connected to my computer, but I've used it for over two hours unconnected with no issues.
