Title: This book can build cultural literacy and support imagination
Review: These stories have been passed down and studied throughout the generations, and with their format in this book featuring 10-minute segments, the cultural touchpoints of Western Civilization are even more accessible. The book contains illustrations and maps, which lend deeper engagement opportunities for exploration. I also really like the idea of using this book as a read-aloud, for people of all ages, including well into advanced age. What a lovely way to interact with loved ones. I recommend this book.

Review: Very interesting read, delivered in bite sized chunks. Distilling Greek mythology in this way makes it quick and easy to learn and remember. Although targeted at older kids (might be scary for younger kids) it is also very interesting for adults. It taught me more in 20 mins than I remember from any school lessons.

Review: The stories are great. I bought this for my 8 year old so we could look at Perseus/Medusa, and we both enjoyed the tale. But the poor punctuation and typos are frustrating. e.g. p163, Athena is called Athen. Twice. And there are multiple examples where the he said / she said / they said is incorrectly punctuated.e.g. p.77 "Thank you, sister." Smiled Herakles as she disappeared in a flash of light.e.g. p160 "Come with me." He said, holding out a hand to Andromeda.e.g. p163 "Behold the Aegis of Zeus!" Cried Athen. "It is safe now." She explained. "If the bearer wished [...]And those a just a small sample of errors in the last two chapters (the only ones we read as they focused on Perseus & Medusa); I found the one on p77 simply through opening the book at a random page. I've now randomly opened it to three other pages and found similar issues on p59 and p43; p37 was fine.If you can skip over the sloppy editing, then go ahead and buy this book as the stories are good. However I can't recommend this, and won't be buying others in the series by the same author.
