Title: EXCEPTIONAL
Review: This is my second Hamilton- Beach breadmaker. I replaced my first one (which still works well) because this newer one has some newer features and is stainless steel). The newer features include more loaf size choices, a few more types of items to make, and - most importantly - automatic seed/fruit inclusion - so you don't have to wait around for 25-30 minutes before adding seeds, etc. The only "odd" thing with this model is the "start" button: Apparently you have to hold it down for a few seconds, let up, and then push it again to start. Not a big deal but this is not mentioned in the instructions. The cycles are a bit longer - about 30 minutes for the same recipe in my older model - but, again, that is not a dealbreaker. And finally my older machine came withan extra paddle - but there is just one with the new machine. New bread bakers will love this machine and "we older" bread bakers will use it occasionally, and for partial aspects of breadmaking. But I would not be without one, as you can make a loaf of bread quickly - and/or overnight with the delay option, which is really convenient. It's also very nice to wake up to a warm loaf of newly baked bread.Bread machines (all of them) work the same way, and produce a good loaf - not exactly the same texture as "regular" loaves - but certainly loaves that are good tasting, simple and easy. The price of the H-B machine is probably the best of all comparable machines and is the only bread machine brand that I would buy.UPDATE: There are some on here who have complained that the "start" button does not work. Well yes and no. The directions are not clear on this point, but in order for the start button to work immediately, you must first program in crust, loaf size, and the cycle number - each time - before hitting the start button. Also, you must unplug the machine every time after you are done with it (I have mine plugged into a "strip" with an on/off switch). These are not dealbreakers - just quirks.

Title: 1st Review-->Didn't even get to run the test! 2nd Review---> Positive Update!
Review: Ordered the bread machine. I opened the box, took the machine out, and unwrapped it with care. Read the instruction booklet... Step 1: Check all parts. Step 2: Clean the removeable parts. Step 3: Plug it in for a 10 minute test run... Instantly received an error code EEE. Called Hamilton Beach customer service. They want you to email them explaining your problem, then it hangs up. Googled error code EEE only to find out it's an error that cannot be fixed by the consumer. Talk about deflation. I'm returning it. I was so excited to try this machine. I would give it 5 stars for beauty, but I'm too angry to say anything nice. Didn't even get to test it. The shame of it all.***UPDATE 5/5/22: Returned the defective machine to Amazon, received a refund promptly, and then turned around and bought the exact same machine. I had already spent way too much time researching bread machines and reading reviews. I had my heart set on this one. I'm glad I remained stubborn and stuck to my original decision. The second one works like a dream. Washed the parts, plugged it in, ran the test, washed it again, made two two loaves of white bread. The first loaf was something of a raw-tasting brick because I used All Purpose Flour and room-temperature salted butter--not good (not wholly terrible, but definitely nothing to write home about). Second loaf, using bread flour and a recipe from a book I purchased (The Bread Lover's Bread Machine Cookbook: A Master Baker's 300 Favorite Recipes for Perfect-Every-Time Bread-From Every Kind of Machine by Beth Hensperger), came out light, fluffy, and quite delicious. The only con to this machine is Hamilton Beach's Customer Service, of which I have STILL not heard from! At the rate they're solving problems, I'd still be machineless, breadless, and writing angry reviews. lol Praying I don't ever have to actually deal with them... Still, changing the overall rating from 1 to 5. Would buy this machine again (obviously) and would recommend to others. Happy baking to all 🙂

Title: Fresh Bread!
Review: The recipes provided in the user guide are easy to follow. We thoroughly enjoyed the basic white bread and pizza dough made with this machine. We weren't particularly fond of the French bread though. The bread machine is easy to use and clean, but the controls can be a little confusing at first. It is very loud and the machine kind of jumps when it beeps, that part is very strange.

Title: Customer Service
Review: The first item received did not work. It was returned and replaced with another of the same model, still had issues. The third item came and it worked. As an owner of a previous Hamilton Beach bread maker that lasted many years, I was initially upset and disappointed that it took so long to get a product that worked but was happy with its performance. After using machine only 8 times in the 14 months when I prepared and added ingredients, set program, size & crust, pressed start & machine sounded like metal on metal. Took out ingredients, cleaned the pan then plugged in and tried again....same result. Tried to contact Hamilton Beach customer service and corresponded with the Zendesk automated system. Gave information in detail. Was told that the series # I provided was not valid, so I sent a photo of the sticker that was in the documentation in the box. Then was told past 1 year so too bad. I asked by messaging to get a number of a person to whom I could ask some questions. Was told to send a letter to President of Customer Relations in South Pines NC. which I did. No response got the telephone # for that facility after 3 weeks and and got automated telephone service that to be connected to an extension there you have to have a name. Kind of hard if no ones talks to you. So, after trying for over 2 months and no response, all I have to show for my troubles is a $100 plus appliance that is nonfunctional and the company chat bot is "sorry it is not performing up to expectations" IT IS NOT PERFORMING AT ALL! Former Hamilton Beach Customer!!

Review: This is a decent, but not extraordinary, bread maker. It works as advertised and is great for yeast based breads. The manual includes a handful of recipes, but not for every option. I would have liked to see recipes for artisan, dough, cake, jam etc.You can absolutely make bread with this, but unless the dough is baked in an actual oven, the crust won’t be comparable to what an artisan loaf would give you.I’m using the machine to bake yeast doughs but when it comes to sourdough I prepare the dough with the machine and bake the loaf in my actual oven.A few things that I noticed so far:- the display is difficult to see without leaning right over it. I’m 6’ tall, but someone shorter might have to stand on tiptoes.- the machine fits on my counter (cabinets above) but I have to move it forward to open the lid.- the bread pan seems large enough for a 1.5 lbs loaf but I wouldn’t make anything bigger in it. The raisin bread I made was 1.5 lbs and the dough extended well above the top.- the fruit&nut dispenser has a metal flap that opens, but won’t close before baking, allowing the heat out and I wonder if that’s on purpose. I made raisin bread and the sides were well baked but the top is pale and a bit soft.- the heating coil in the bottom is exposed and makes cleaning harder. Make sure to fill ingredients in the baking pan BEFORE setting it in the machine.- the buttons below the display are not as easy to clean as a smooth plastic covered panel. Little ridges attract flour dust etc.- the “dough only” function works for yeast doughs (like pizza), but is too short for sourdough. Meanwhile the “artisan” dough option seems best for sourdough but takes 5 hrs and that doesn’t include baking.- I wish the manual would show the exact time intervals for each program and how long it kneads, rises, etc. It would make it much easier to allow for the dough paddle to be removed before the last rising interval.- I now know I would have liked a custom function to set the knead/rise/bake cycles myself and to time it better. But machines that offer this are much more expensive.

Review: One word. EXCELLENT.Bought this unit primally for baking keto bread, and boy does it do a good job. Anyone who eats keto knows how hard it is to get a good decent priced bread that is keto compatible or one that even tastes ok. Well using a keto recipe that I have, this breadmaker makes wonderful bread. It does such a good job on my keto bread that I can't imagine how good of a normal loaf of bread it would make. The large nonstick bread pan and paddle work wonderful with cleanup as simple as wiping out the unit with a paper towel or cloth. Its size allows me to make a loaf that will give 26 slices of bread. There are tons of options for baking your bread but to be honest the simple option works best for me. I just put the ingredients in as recommended, put the pan in the breadmaker and press start. 3 hours later you have fresh bread. The recipe I use can be found by googling "The BEST Keto Bread EVER! keto king". This recipe isn't just for keto. Our whole family eats it. It is nutritious and low in calories. The unit looks great as well and is not to overly sized to take up much counter space.I would recommend this unit to anyone and even more so for someone looking to bake some delicious bread, especially keto bread.
