Title: Sturdy Brine Bags That Hold a Whole Turkey
Review: Brine bags, particularly if you choose to wet brine, must be thicker and sturdier than ordiinary plastic bags to keep from leaking and/or tearing during both the brining period and the transfer. These brining bags have that tough construction. They come with two strings to tie the turkey legs -- not that big an accessory -- but also a plastic clip to run along the zip tab to make sure it is properly sealed, something that helps a lot. The brand I usually buy has that clip attached for easy closure, but the included clip here works almost as well. I'd rather it be attached so I don't misplace it. Title: I am 79 and this is the worst product I have ever bought
Review: This bag has caused a Thanksgiving catastrophe in our house. When brining began the bag collapsed and spilled brine all over the kitchen floor. Brine everywhere. When refilled it was impossible to close. The seal would not close, the slider was not included in the bag and the thickness of the plastic made it impossible to close using the piece of string provided. And then it sprang a leak. I was forced to brine using garbage bags, which were not up to the task. I have made many a turkey in my 79 years but this Thanksgiving experience was the worst because of the terrible quality of this brining bag. Do not buy this bag unless you want a lot of problems, are willing to clean up spilled and leaked brine and only if you don't care that you can't close the bag. My advice? Steer clear.
