Does the bug zapper need to be plugged in or rechargeable?

The bug zapper needs to be plugged in with its US 2-pin plug. The input voltage is 110V/60Hz AC.

What pests can the bug zapper kill?

The bug zapper will zap any flying insect that is attracted to UV light such as flies, fruit flies, mosquitoes, wasps, gnats, moths, etc.

How long will the bulbs last?

The bulbs usually last about 6 months depending on usage. We recommend chang the bulb every 6 months for maximum performance.

Title: Works great!
Review: I have a worm composter in the house that got infested with fruit flies. I've been using this for about 3 weeks and it's doing a great job getting the flies under control; it seems to be killing them faster thna they can breed. Works far better than sticky traps or old-style coiled fly paper. I had tried the little outlet-based blue LED sticky traps, but they weren't effective.Operational aspects that may be problematic for others: 1) This is a classic bug zapper, so yes, it snaps loudly (a feature I found oddly satisfying in my bug war). 2) It has a trap to catch dead bugs, but a lot of bugs get propelled when zapped and fall outside of the trap. The trap is easy to empty, but the rest of the unit requires some patience to clean with the little included brush. But the unit is not at all fragile, so no worries about breaking fine wires when brushing. The bugs stick a little, so my canned-air keyboard duster wasn't very effective. I haven't tried my shop air compressor yet, but I suspect it might have enough oomph to blow the stuck bugs off.

Title: Bug Destroyer! ⚡🦟
Review: I got a 2 pack of these little death machines, one for the living room, and one for the master bath. The reviews are not kidding when they say these babies are LOUD when they get an unsuspecting customer, but I like it, because then I know they're working! Fantastic product, much more effective than the giant Raid brand one we have downstairs! Plus, they are cute. If you're on the fence, just buy them. These are a great product!

Title: Works well, you’ll hear it when it zaps something
Review: It does attract mosquitoes, not as well as I’d want but it does get the mosquitoes. You can hear it from across the house when it zaps something, so when your house sounds like WW3 going off in your house with zapping noises , you know it’s doing its job.

Review: I just received my order for the Gecko Man bug zapper manual turn off/on. It's 2pm and I thought well why waste time waiting for tonight I'll plug her in now. There's this one (maybe two) pesky little noseeum that flies around my head and phone at night while I'm in bed scrolling and it drives me CRAZY so I thought I'd set this next to my bed for now and turn off all the lights/pull the shades to see how it goes. Within 3 minutes of turning her on I was in the other room and heard a loud zap. Honestly it was so loud I kinda thought a paper booklet or something had fallen to the floor (I just moved and stuff is still in disarray) but thought WAS THAT MY ZAPPER!?! I was very surprised how loud. But I heard it again about an hour later and then a third time just now! It's only been about two hours. I went to check and SURE ENOUGH there's that flying bastid dead on the bulb 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 the zaps are loud, not gonna lie, and if it were in the same room with me it would probably startle me but from the other room I LOVE it. That's the sound of me winning 😎 and bugs DYING. I will place it hanging in my living room at night and let it live out it's murderous life's purpose while I sleep. It is aesthetically pleasing so that's a bonus.If the sound will bother you, don't get this one. If she's this loud when zapping the noseeums I can't imagine the sound of house flies getting zapped. HAIL GECKO MAN 🙋‍♀️I'll update my review if anything changes

Title: Just got my brand new bug zapper!
Review: I am very happy to have received my new bug zapper under warranty! It is sitting on my bed waiting to be opened and used!FINALLY, AN AMAZON SELLER WHO IS AS GOOD AS THEIR WORD!I changed my rating to 5 stars and am very glad these people are so honest.I've decided to upgrade this review since the manufacturer has informed me that the product has a TWO YEAR WARRANTY! That is worth a lot in this situation. They have informed me that I will get a new unit as soon as they are able, and are awaiting shipment of new stock.This zapper was a wonderful piece of equipment, but only lasted not quite a year before a capacitor blew and it just quit working.Now I have to try to locate a different kind since I prefer to pay top money for equipment that works for a few years, not just one.

Title: Buggy got Zapped! Bye Felicia, Jose, Shorty and well you get it.
Review: Ascetically pleasing (not overly big bulky or industrial looking unlike others I’ve purchased). Best of all easy to use, plug it in and let it work, ZAP bye bye bugs! It works as advertised, runs quietly until it kills all sorts of flying insects, warning big bugs being zapped may be noisy! It’s currently being used inside as I’m living through a renovation and the door has been opened more frequently than usual. I also have indoor plants which seem to attract bugs during the summer so it’s placed near them. I’ve noticed a marked decrease in all sorts of bugs. Lots of dead bugs on and around the light too.

Review: This is very effective against moths, gnats, and mosquitos. But flies are not attracted to this in any way. As others have stated, it's not effective during the daytime. Also, be careful where you place this. Moths in particular tend to explode leaving bug parts everywhere around the zapper.

Title: Slow starter
Review: I had my doughts about this at first and almost sent it back. It took a while to figure out the best place for this in the house. There really is no low light area because I live in a trailer. When it zaps the dogs and I would jump. Lol sometimes still do. But once I saw it also would kill the wasps that were coming in after my daughters dog got stung I decided it was a keeper. U have to give it a few weeks to really know how it's gonna work, and I moved it 3 times. But once u find the right spot and it gets going, meaning ALL the bugs begin to get drawn to it, it seems to really work well. I'd recommend it to anyone . It is rather bright at night, which works well for me, but if u are bothered by that then ull have to move it. I wouldn't recommend unplugging it at night because we did that and it just wasent getting the bugs anymore when it was on.

Il existe 2 modèles (avec et sans détecteur de luminosité).J'en ai acheté 2 de chaque.L'efficacité est redoutable la nuit et je conseil la version avec détecteur qui active la lampe uniquement la nuit (à condition que la maison soit lumineuse).J'habite dans une longère avec quelques pièces assez sombres, d'où mon besoin d'avoir les 2 modèles (modèle avec capteur quand positionné près d'une fenêtre).Je déconseille l'installation dans une chambre, car c'est assez bruyant quand une bestiole se fait électrocuter.

Review: Dieser Artikel wird als "Fruchtfliegenfalle" beworben. Damit das funktionieren könnte, müsste eine Fruchtfliege zwei benachbarte Stäbe gleichzeitig berühren. Die Metallstäbe befinden aber derart weit auseinander, dass die Fruchtfliegen einfach dazwischen durchfliegen. Nach mehreren Tagen Test hat sich zwar eine Stechmücke im Gerät befunden, aber keine einzige der circa 50 anwesenden Fruchtfliegen.Die Verarbeitung des Artikels erscheint nicht besonders hochwertig. Die Plastik-Bodenplatte unseres Exemplars war uneben, weshalb es bei der geringsten Berührung gewackelt hat. Außerdem lässt sich die Bodenplatte nur sehr schwer öffnen um gefangene Insekten zu entfernen. Wir haben bereits eine deutlich hochwertiger verarbeitete elektrische Mückenfalle und haben diesen Artikel zurückgeschickt.
