From the brand
The Butcher Block for Every Home: At Teakhaus, we believe that cooking is an art form that deserves to be elevated, so get ready to be the master of home cooking. We designed our wooden chopping boards for your special home cooked meals, family occasions, or your next fun gathering.
Classic Rectangular Design: The Teakhaus end grain cutting board goes beyond function. It embodies beauty, sustainability, and longevity. The aesthetic hardwood grain appeal and feel gives you that smooth glide with every cut or slice. A heavy-duty chopping block that can withstand significant pressure during chopping or cutting tougher ingredients. Nothing won’t taste glorious after using this board.
Made of Real Teak Wood: Teak is a durable tropical wood with superior moisture endurance. With no plastic components, coatings, or finishes, Teakhaus butcher blocks are naturally food-safe. Teak’s unmatched beauty and aesthetics make it the perfect charcuterie board over a classic elegant end-grain pattern or for chopping big cuts of meat, grilling, and preparations that require heavy-duty work.
Lifetime Quality: A Teakhaus cutting board can last a lifetime with proper care and usage. Hand wash your teak chopping board with your regular dishwashing soap (not dishwasher safe) and give it a few oil drops to keep it looking brand new.
Ethical and Sustainable: Our products are FSC certified, which validates the origin of our teak wood from responsibly managed forests. It also ensures that our production processes have minimal environmental impact and prioritize the protection of workers’ rights at every stage.

Title: It cracked, and I still love it because I figured out the dang secret!
Review: So this is the most amazing cutting board ever. But it cracked. So now itâs the two most amazing cutting boards ever, and Iâve learned my lesson. When I bought this, I was terrifically excited. Gorgeous egg grain teak, nicely finished, great durability. I used mineral oil fairly religiously, kept in a spray bottle under the sink, same as I use for soapstone counters, just more frequent. Kept it on my countertop all the time because it was so dang massive I didnât know where else to put it. And that is the beginning of the drama, and of me learning a thing or two.Every few days, maybe once a week, I would find it had begun to warp, raising up in the middle. âAha!â I would say to myself, âitâs drying out, I need to oil it more!â and so I would, and it would always thirstily soak up whatever I put on it. The drying cycle was much worse in the winter when the air is very dry here in New England â dry noses, skin, etc. my wife made fun of me for the amount of effort I put in, but I loved this cutting board for everything - meat cleaver, onions, herbs, chopping vegetables, it is a real gorgeous centerpiece and hugely functional if you have the counter space.Imagine my dismay when after 2 years, I got lazy and didnât oil it for a few weeks and... one night I hear a tremendous CRACKing noise, come downstairs, and after searching for an hour finally find the cutting board has cracked. âCrapola!â I say to myself, âafter all that effort!âSo finally, I do my research. First I cut the thing into two pieces (luckily the crack was parallel to the short side). It wasnât that I was oiling it too little, itâs that when I wiped it down I was letting it sit in a small amount of water. No wiping the counter afterwards would ever be enough. Any amount of water trapped underneath would leach in, and when it evaporated would cause the bowing. Enough bowing and it would naturally crack. Simple physics. So now I have two smaller boards which make for a lovely cheese serving tray and a gift for my son in law, and Iâve bought a new one. They donât bow nearly as much, because I found the secret. Keep it on top of a folded kitchen towel, and pick it up to dry out once every few days! Oil it once every week or two. It drinks up so much less oil now that I keep it on a towel. You canât beat understanding the physics. And if you doing understand the physics, they will beat you every time. Itâs not the cutting boardâs fault if it cracks, you (& I) are just not maintaining it right. If you want a cutting board to to be maintenance free & impervious, buy something made of petrochemicals or glass. This is wood. Treat it right, Iâm confident it will last a lifetime. It broke and I still love it.

Title: It stays flat with proper care, great value
Review: Purchased Dec 2017. Review from Feb 2020.When I first received the board, I took about 24 hours to oil it deeply. Edge to edge and on the sides, I allowed it to soak up a solid 6 applications (it was appx. 1/3 of a 32oz bottle of oil). After a buffing it beaded beautifully. This board sees daily use in my kitchen. Plenty of knife work and plenty of liquids. I didnât expect to be sitting here writing this review when I purchased it, as the price is wildly lower than same-size end grain competition. I figured it would split or warp by now. Alas here we are.Chiefly, this board has remained absolutely flat. I attribute that to our dry climate and my fastidious cleaning procedures. I wash it at least 3x a week with warm water, copious dish soap, and a Dobie pad. Key to the procedure, I always towel dry it out of the sink and lay it flat to finish drying on a large tea towel, flipping it once the top is dry. I then follow up later that day (once completely dry) with the oil, which I allow an hour or two to soak in. Then I wipe off the excess and buff to that lovely matte finish with a towel. It is also is a rather fast board in my opinion, despite teacâs lower-than-most janka (hardness) rating. My knives are sharp and honed, and you can rock and chop all day on this thing.Oil is absorbed well and quickly, some blocks taking more than others. Score marks are shallow and relatively unnoticeable to your hand passing over them, even after 2 years. I imagine itâll need a light high grit sanding sometime in the next 1-2 years, but thatâs fine by me.In conclusion, this is a large board thatâs great value for the money asked. Treat it with more respect than you should.

Title: Huge, thick, and gorgeous! ("You know what else is..." ð)
Review: I see some other reviews talking about cracking or whatever but I've got three of these (you can never have too much cutting board space imho) and haven't had any problems. I do use Boos Mystery Oil & Board Wax monthly-ish (depending on usage) which gives it a buttery smooth feel. The end grain is fantastic -- not only does it have a wonderful look, but it has a great knife-feel (no getting caught in grooves), resists wear, and keeps your knives sharper (so I'm told). It's big enough to carve a whole turkey (or a whole Tofurky if that's your pref?), and (unless you toss it in your fireplace) should last approximately forever. It's pretty enough to be an uber-classy charcuterie board, if you order your charcuterie by the barrel...I do recommend adding some feet (like simple screw-on rubber bumpers) to avoid any liquid getting trapped underneath.

Title: Color is not as pictured
Review: EDIT:Iâll cut this company some slack. Itâs a good board, and the color brightened up a *bit* after piling. Overall, seems like high quality of a build. So, with the caveat that the color is not guaranteed (of course it would be impossible since all the pieces in an edge grain are necessarily different), Iâd say itâs holds up its value.ORIGINAL:I'm pretty disappointed with the stark contrast of color from what is pictured and what I received. I received a rather grey-looking board, whereas in the photo it is a much warmer/brighter palette. I understand since the items are unique that there will be some variety, but if the variation was going to be as strong as it is, I feel like they should showcase that in the marketing photos here. They would have allowed me to ship it back, albeit with a 50% restocking fee. However, on top of that the shipping would be $50, so it's not quite worth it to ship it back. It seems like a functional cutting board, so I'll still use it, but again, I'm definitely disappointed for having spent so much on it, and not having the real product match expectations.

Review: I hesitated on buying this because of its size (cumbersome to maneuver while cleaning), yet that's also exactly what I was looking for from it - the broad coverage and beautiful piece. It works perfectly, and I oil and wax it regularly to maintain the stunning colours and its hydration (to avoid any cracking and warping). I would say that if you invest in a piece like this, be prepared to care for it regularly - it deserves that and you'll be rewarded for it if so. I read several reviews here to get a sense of what people thought of the board, its composition, and the care, and knew that I was in for a commitment with looking after it but I haven't had a single regret. It's lovely, does its job, and is a beautiful decor piece in the kitchen. I have a process now where I wash it, towel dry it, apply some oil, then wax once absorbed, and flip to do the reverse side and edges. Again, it's a little work but it's worthwhile if you like nice things.

Review: Il tagliere è sicuramente bello e massiccio.
