Title: Amazing! ð¤ð¤ð¤
Review: I have been getting more concerned with ingesting plastic from plastic cutting boards, especially since I just bought brand new plastic cutting boards and they already have deep grooves and cuts, so I decided just to buy a wood cutting board. They are definitely more expensive than cheap plastic ones but I believe they are WORTH IT !! The quality is there and it's absolutely beautiful!! The 20x15" is a bit awkward to clean if you have a small sink, but it's totally worth it. I'm happy to say no deep grooves or cuts! Made in the USA!

Title: Beyond Fantastic!
Review: This board is not only gorgeous, but super heavy duty and functional as well! Although Iâve only had her for a short time, I know this board will last a lifetime. I use the âcutting boardâ side for obvious chopping, etc, and turn it over to use the âbottomâ as a pasta board. I love it! Once oiled and waxed, it is a cinch to clean and maintain.

Title: Piece of art
Review: So initially the first board came a little damaged and I got in touch with the Virginia boys kitchen! They donât have much power over Amazon so they suggested returning and getting a new one and Iâm really glad I did. This board is beautiful and made in the USA! Get rid of your plastic cutting boards - this is the one to get, keep, and use.

Title: It's a really beautiful board, but heavily flawed
Review: I want to preface this review by saying how much I really wanted to love this board. It's beautiful once it is seasoned and the size is perfect having a large area to work on, whether for prep work, dough kneading, or even carving meat. However, the production quality really soured the experience for me. Once I did have the board seasoned (and I seasoned it, both sides, multiple times over several days using Boos Mystery Oil and Wood Cream) the issues quickly became apparent. As noted in another review, the juice grooves are not sanded. This wasn't a deal-breaker for me. What was a deal-breaker is that right after the first use, the surface of the board started splintering. I was wiping off tons of fibers from the surface just drying the thing. Those fibers would have easily made it into food if I hadn't done something about it.That was annoying but I figured it was a good opportunity to get some sandpaper and smooth out the groove and edges. I sanded down the surface with 220 grit sandpaper, reseasoned it, and the same thing happened two washes later. I figured maybe I hadn't done enough, and proceed to sand and season it yet again. The board was fine for about 3 uses this time until it started to offer more splinters while being dried off. On top of that, despite having hand-dried it every time I used it, it started warping after two weeks of use. The board will not sit flush with my counter and rocks while it is being used.I initiated a return thinking I had just received a bad sample. It happens, right? I can't fault the company for a bad unit, it's the nature of production. The second board I received was shipped alone in a box with some packing paper on one side of the box (whereas the first was shipped within its own Virginia Boys box and had some paperwork). Right as I took off the wrapping, I immediately noticed several gouges on the board and a crack running over an inch on the bottom.Like I said before, I really wanted to love this board and I was excited to have it in my kitchen. However, the following weeks of use and inconsistency in quality across the boards were major letdowns. Maybe I'm unlucky and got two bad examples, but I am disappointed, to say the least.

Title: Beautiful MADE in AMERICA cutting board!
Review: My new cutting board came in a box designed especially for the size I received. It is quality made with black walnut wood that is gorgeous. When I seasoned it the richness came out in the wood, a deep beautiful brown hue. Highly recommend this product and this company! YES! MADE IN AMERICA!!!

Title: Pretty board with some drawbacks
Review: I was looking for a smaller board to use for little things like fruit so I had found this one and decided to order. Upon opening the packaging I saw oil stains on the cardboard inside which is a good sign, means it really is/was preseasoned. It's a nice chocolate brown color. The wood felt soft so it shouldn't wear my knives down quick. The price also wasn't bad for it being a Walnut board. Used it once so far and noticed a few things.Pros:- Aesthetically pleasing (rich color and grain)- Lightweight- Soft enough not to damage knives- Good size for small items (berries, cherry tomatoes, etc)Cons:- Bit smaller than I expected (also I believe it's about .75 inches thick)- Knife marks already showing (though edge grain is more prone to do this, just wasn't expecting to see them after one use)Big Con:- Mine had grain pieces lifting/splintering after initial use & mild wash, not surprising with edge grain, but it was really bad. So bad that I had to refinish and reseason the entire board, I'm lucky I had spare extra fine and fine grain sandpaper laying around along with John Boos care products. It also got really dry after that wash, and I didn't use very hot water or a lot of soap (just a drop or two) since I had only cut up some garlic cloves and bacon pieces. The rich dark chocolate color turned to this very pale and dull shade of brown. Despite all this, I'm still keeping the board to see how it performs in the future after finishing and seasoning it.However, if you're someone who doesn't know any better about woodworking/being handy, I could see why you'd return it. That being said, I still wasn't too happy about sitting down at the table and sanding my board for an hour while occasionally rinsing and checking for more lifting. I'm still in the process of seasoning, as I've had to oil it a few more times to make sure it's completely moisturized, just waiting for the beeswax to settle in.It's my first Walnut as well as edge grain board. My other boards are end grain Teak, about 1.5 - 2 inches thick. No splinters or marks after heavy use. Either way, please remember to season your boards once in a while!

Title: Beautiful walnut cutting board
Review: I finally purchased a large cutting board, after many searches I landed on Virginia Boys. It is nice and large, a good groove for juices, and it looks great.

Review: Great cutting board! The wood is absolutely beautiful, and the size is great. Very happy that Virginia Boys Kitchen items are available in Canada now, because I will only be buying from them from now on (although I doubt I'll need a new one anytime soon as this one is so well-made).

Customers say
Customers like the beauty, build quality, and size of the cutting board. They mention it's beautiful enough to leave on their countertops, holds up well to knives, and is a naturally hard and dense wood. Some say it gives them more usable space for meal prep. However, some customers have reported that the board has splinters, warping, and texture. Opinions differ on value for money and functionality.
