Title: Great meat cleaver but no bone cutter
Review: I was a bit skeptical of this knife as Iâve tried other knives like these that have a beautiful design but are as dull as a spoon. This knife however is actually sharp. I first used it to cut a boneless lamb leg and I was able to cut through the meat without any trouble but I was not able to cut through the lamb shanks at all and they were thin bones. I will say that the bigger reason that I took away a stat was due to the very short handle relative to the blade itself. Overall this is a nice meat cleaver and has very nice tiger design on the blade. If it had a longer handle I would feel a lot more comfortable using it as a bone cleaver.

Title: It's really cool looking!
Review: I'm not going to lie; I got this because I wanted to add it to my collection of knives. I wouldn't use this in the kitchen ever. It's too cool looking to get dirty! But it feels like it would get the job done if I needed it to!

Title: So fancy!
Review: I feel ambivalent about this cleaver, in spite of the 4 stars. Why? Because it's so fancy that it reminds me of those decorative but useless-in-any-practical-sense knives and swords that were so facinating to me as a middle-school child. Obviously my problem, not the cleaver's.And I am in no way implying that this cleaver is useless. On the contrary, I like it a lot. It is 28 grams lighter than the cleaver I already own, but has a wood handle instead of metal. Because of this, more of the weight is in the front, where all the business gets done. Just hefting it I can tell it will make my cuts more accurate and effective. My one complaint is that one of the rivets is not flush with the wooden handle. It's just a tiny bit raised, but its edge is sharp, so minus 1 star.

Title: My Meat Cleaver
Review: The Ogival Meat Cleaver with a Tiger Pattern is an impressive kitchen tool that combines both functionality and aesthetics. Here are my thoughts on its performance and design:Design and Build QualityThe tiger pattern on the blade adds a unique and visually appealing touch. The high carbon stainless steel ensures durability and sharpness, making it ideal for heavy-duty tasks like chopping bones and tough meat. The full tang handle provides excellent balance and control, enhancing the overall user experience.PerformanceThis cleaver excels in tasks requiring significant force. Its weight and sharp edge make it perfect for cutting through bones, large pieces of meat, and even some hard vegetables. The blade retains its sharpness well, and the high carbon content means it's less likely to chip or wear down quickly.Comfort and Handling:The full tang handle offers a secure and comfortable grip, reducing hand fatigue during extended use. The handleâs design ensures a good balance between the blade and the grip, making it easier to handle precise cuts. Versatility:While primarily designed for meat and bone chopping, this cleaver is versatile enough for a variety of kitchen tasks. It can also handle slicing and dicing vegetables, making it a multifunctional tool in the kitchen. Maintenance:As with any high carbon steel knife, it requires proper care to prevent rust and maintain its edge. Regular honing and hand washing are recommended to keep the blade in top condition.

Title: Fantastic Meat Cleaver!
Review: I can't find anything not to like on this Cleaver! It is plenty big enough to fit the average kitchen, weighing in at almost exactly 16oz. It comes plenty sharp and can be used to thin slice a tomato or chop through bone. The handle is big and feels great in the hand.It does come with a grease coating to keep the finish in good shape during warehouse storage and shipping. This easily cleans off with soap and water. The tiger etching is nice. Mind you, it is not paint nor is it a decal. It is actually etched into the metal and, therefore, looks more dark grey than jet black. To get it to look jet black, a very thin coating of any food-safe oil does the job.It cleans easily with soap and water. As this is high-carbon stainless steel, it won't easily tarnish or rust. This is NOT to say that it won't! If you mistreat it, such as leaving it in a sink of water for days or use it to slice something acidic (such as lemons) and then just put it away, it will likely tarnish. Just give it a gentle wash after use and dry with a paper towel or kitchen cloth. It is welcome on my knife strip and in my kitchen! Five stars!
