Product Description
BJC Speaker Cable, made with our Ten White cable stock and Welded Locking Banana Plugs
At Blue Jeans Cable, we were never happy with the conventional methods of attaching speaker cable to banana plugs. Setscrews are fine, but lack pull strength; compression connections are never as strong as they look like they're going to be; and solder, on large high-mass connectors, is slow going and tends to cause a lot of insulation meltback. Our solution: ultrasonic welding. Our Sonobond Ultrasonic Welder (made in West Chester, PA) welds the copper wire to the brass banana plug body without the excessive heat associated with conventional welding, fusing copper to brass in a tight, strong, low-resistance, reliable connection.
Our Ten White speaker cable stock is a 10 AWG cable with each conductor made up of 65 strands of bare copper for high flexibility.
Ultrasonic-Welded Locking Bananas: a Blue Jeans Cable exclusive feature
The Plug
This is our locking banana plug, disassembled. Notice anything? There's no attachment mechanism for the wire -- no set screws, no clamps, nothing but a channel for the wire to sit in.
The Welder
This is one of our Sonobond Ultrasonic Welders, in our Seattle shop. Unlike heat-based methods of welding, it drives a large amount of ultrasonic vibration into the junction between the wire and the plug, fusing them together.
The Weld
Here's a plug body after welding. The surface structure of the wire breaks down during welding, allowing dissimilar metals to fuse. The resulting weld has extremely low contact resistance and high pull strength.
The "Locking" Feature
The outer collar of the banana plug is threaded. It should inserted into the binding post with the collar "backed off" from the plug end (top image). When the plug is in the binding post, simply turn the locking collar clockwise (bottom image) and it pushes a central pin forward, expanding the splines for a firm engagement in the post.

Title: Great value quality speaker cables
Review: Very nice quality speaker cables. I have used a lot of different speaker cables over the years from fairly âhigh endâ to generic and the Blue Jean speaker cables are fantastic. I really like the locking banana plugs on these to keep them snug and tightly connected. I have Emotiva XPA monoblocks that have the positive and negative speaker terminals about one foot apart from each other. I had to do a slight modification to the speaker cables by pulling up the cable end jacket (more like a pair of pants) and then carefully cut the jacket surrounding the two wires back about seven inches. The âpantsâ part slipped right back over the main cable jacket and all was good to go. These cables are no nonsense neutral cables so they do not act as tone controls to alter the sound from my speakers. I am aware of the whole psycho acoustical effect experienced by audiophiles who claim that adding a certain cable, power cord or interconnect cable makes their rig sound better. But, the Blue Jean speaker cables did make a difference over the generic 16 gauge speaker wires I was using. Is it because the Blue Jeans are 10 gauge or the cold weld connections? I donât know but I can say I would highly recommend these to any audiophile who wants a great speaker cable without spending a fortune.

Title: Quality material and connections
Review: I just got them hooked up today running through a Paris A10 Classic to Klipsch Cornwalls IV, I also added a Shiit Mani 2 preamp and used the Blue Jeans RCA Interconnecting cables, I wanted to make sure everything was replaced out going in and out with a Technics 1500C TT with upgraded from the Red Ortofon cartridge to a bronze, also upgraded my optical coming off my WIIM PP streamer, As always when changing out cables, components the benefits show through more the longer the system is played. But what I heard today makes me happy with my choice changing to more quality cable without breaking the bank, which I have seen could be regarded as crazy prices,

Title: Great Speaker Cable with Banana plugs
Review: I'm really happy with this speaker cable I got. It came with Banana plugs, making it super easy to connect. I did a bunch of research, and this brand was priced just right. I've definitely noticed a difference in how my music sounds â everything seems clearer and more vibrant. Plus, the white color looks cool, and these cables feel really solid and well-made. Overall, a great purchase!

Title: Great Speaker Cables
Review: BJC has been my go to cable company for some time but I had yet to try their speaker cables. They're just as good as their interconnects. I didn't notice any difference in sound quality over my previous cables but the sonic welding and expanding banana plugs ensure a tight fit.

Title: Incredible
Review: I was shocked how good these cables are. My old cables were hiding the capabilities of my speakers. Very revealing on my system.

Review: Why buy this? Why bother when you can DIY? Just why?Okay, let me begin by saying I have made custom DIY cables already. I used 10 gauge wires, the highest count of strands I could find, OFC pure copper. Twisted the cable for EMI, put BFA connector on it and made sure both cables were the same length. Here I am 3 years later. For me this decision was mostly because I didn't like the look of the cable and I made poor choice for the connector type IMHO. Buying a locking banana connector is pricey and these were recommended, so... why not? connectors + best cable + welded... alright I ordered.Differences?? Yes. I am not trying to sell snake oil, just what I personally hear.- When my amp was running but my pream/dac (XLR balanced) was off on energy saving, I could hear a hum in the speaker if I put my ear to them. This is gone (I assume better insulation/EMI rejection from BJC)- The bass feels... punchier...? more defined. For lack of better wording, it's like it was starving before- The mids have more clarity and vibranceMy speakers sound a bit snappier, and less muddy; like when turn off a bass tone stack.I highly recommend these cables, I wish I just went them first instead of having the trouble to make some. My only negative point is the connectors, a light negative tho. When you screw it to lock it inside the plug, the connector wants to turn altogether, so it's hard to grip. I had to use a plier to hold the connector ends while screwing the moving part with my grip. Very happy with my purchase, the ten white looks and sound great

Review: I've wanted to replace a pair of really crufty old cables I use in my office for a long time and finally decided to splash out on these. My second experience with BlueJeans cables, just as great as the first. For starters, nice heavy gauge, none of that 14awg stuff, but still very flexible. I like the cold welded bananas and the locking feature is impressive and highly functional.I really appreciated the careful and modest packaging. Low waste and reusable Velcro wraps to tidy them up when not in use.And on top of it all a reasonable price considering the exchange and what not. Thanks BlueJeans for another excellent product and thanks Amazon Canada for carrying it.

Review: Great step up from basic speaker cable. Love the locking plugs, and love that they are welded. I bought one long 40 foot cable, and cut it in half. I use the locking plugs at the speaker terminals, and bare wire at the amp. These are rated so you can safely pull them through walls. Simple, basic, high quality cables.
