Title: Good stuff
Review: The software is a little cumbersome, it would be nice to be able to attach a keyboard as well as a mouse but it gets the job done. Overall I like it.

Title: Great system, excellent image quality
Review: I previously had a Swann security system and four cameras that worked well, but they cameras were old (low resolution) video. My primary motivation for buying another Swann system was that I could re-use the existing cabling. Swann uses two cables per camera - a BNC/coax cable for the signal and a second power cable. That was extremely important. Drilling holes and running cable all around your house is about 95% of the work of installing one of these systems. Having the cabling in place was a huge time saver.Once I got the cameras all connected the video quality is just great (4K). The app for your phone (iPhone or Android) is a big improvement over the old app. Easy to to view live cameras or playback any video captured as a result of motion detection. The motion detection is great, you can block out custom areas in each camera that you don't want triggering the motion detection. You can also setup intrusion detection zones and privacy zones (mostly for indoor cameras). Also has a feature to upload video to a Dropbox account.Overall, I would highly recommend this system, especially if you're looking to upgrade your older Swann system.

Title: THERE IS NO âAUDIO CAPTUREâ. The interface is an antique. Update: Still working well after 4 years.
Review: This system has strengths. The hard-wired, 4k cameras provide clear video, particularly in daylight, but perform well 24/7 and in varying degrees and kinds of artificially-generated light. The focus is flawless, and the units themselves light and relatively compact. The base station HDD produces very little sound, and has an efficient, relatively sturdy design. The included cables are generous in length, appear durable, and have well-fitted plugs that attach with a reassuring grip. The onscreen control interface appears to have been designed during the Ford Administration, with its cutting edge 1920âs World of Tomorrow graphics and darts-at-a-dartboard-while-blindfolded menu design logic. The documentation, possibly produced by a thousand monkeys typing on a thousand keyboards, and featuring the delightful cost-saving innovation of cramming every related model into one owners manual, is neither accurate nor specific enough to help with the choose-your-own-adventure remote viewing feature, or the atoms colliding imprecision of the playback controls. And, as the title says, it does not, repeat, not, have an audio capture capacity with the included cameras. That title has remained unchanged and blatantly deceptive at least since late 2020...itâs simply inexcusable that neither Swann nor Amazon have bothered to correct it.Update: Four years later and the title has been corrected. Also, the system is still working well, so Iâm upgrading my rating to four stars.

Title: Here is what you should know. Not best for the buck, Company could do better. Terrible support
Review: Updated:Unit died prior to a year, When you call Swann they will try to sell you a service plan on the device or a SUPPORT plan where you can call in. What they dont tell you is that turn they off your web interface and make the device only communicate via their APP, which they force you to pay for.Absolutely terrible support, extremely rude support. Please avoid this company1) Its loud, Not deafening, but you can hear it constantly running. Its louder than my computer at home. For a brand new unit thats only running a single drive, this is dissapointing.2) Programming has errors. Especially it has limited Browser Support. It was to run on Google Chrome 44.0 browser which is several years old. This concerns me when it comes to quality,securiity.3) Does have decent App support for your phone and and the wizard helps ease the installation, however there are some bugs you have to work around.Swann could do better, I think I would go with another brand like Tough Dog (American Made) or Lorex. in the future. The cameras require high light they are not true night vision cams

Title: Great security system
Review: Most reviews that are negative are not substantiated. I see people commenting the video is not 4k. It is if you view it on your TV, the picture is super clear. The mobile app reduces the quality in what is transmitted to you to allow faster transmission. You can select medium or high quality. It is set on default at medium. If you click High quality, the video becomes good quality. What gets recorded on the harddrive is going to be in good 4k quality. The setup was easy, no problems at all. The app is good and responsive, loads instantly. Overall, very intuitive and easy install. The app is actually pretty good as well.

Title: The best one can expect for this price range
Review: This is my second Swaan unit. My last $300/4 1080p camera unit lasted 5 years before giving up... this one has significant upgraded cameras (although colors get washed out in higher light levels), details can be seen that the previous high res cameras can't display. I am currently using only 2 of the new cameras and all 4 from the previous system and love the improvements.I also like that i have enough storage to record a couple cameras 24x7 so a complete record is available something my old system couldn't do due to lack of storage.Trival imho my only complaint is that the brain is a little noisy even compared to my desktop computer's multiple fans.

Title: Super noisy
Review: Not bad quality but it is really noisy. I had the previous version it lasted 3 years with no problems it even recorded a hurricane. So when it broke I upgraded. I returned the one I bought because it was too noisy. The replacement is still noisy. You cannot have in a bedroom at all. It drives you crazy. Trust me I am writing this review thinking about how I can pay someone to rewire the whole thing but fl attics are super hot this time of year still.

Merci Swann

Review: Day vision is great and night vision average. Cameras are hyper sensitive to movement so a breeze blowing things around will trigger notifications. Wiring up was a pain but once set up they work well. Only annoyance is the app seems to freeze and drop out too often for my liking but no issue viewing via the box linked to the TV. All in all I would say good camera for this price point.

However, some are disappointed with the audio quality, motion detection capability, and noise level. Opinions are mixed on the ease of installation and responsiveness of the app.
