Title: I was skeptical, but they did successfully re-invent the can opener!!
Review: I am fairly conservative and don't lightly abide "re-inventing the wheel." I definitely felt skeptical of any claim to re-inventing a freakin' can-opener. But I read about this can opener on a credible tech website, so I tried it. Everything the review said was true. I have owned it for over a year, and it is a better can opener! And it is interesting enough to get me to write a ditty about it.It is a bit off-putting at first because it does not have "arms" that clamp down onto the can like every other can opener I had used in my 56 years on Earth. (Electric or manual). Instead, you hold it up against the can, turn the knob once or twice, and the cutting disc and the support disc rotate into place and holds the can, itself, while cutting. It can do so because the cutting disc cuts sideways into the side of the can under the lid instead of cutting downward into the lid of the can. All the support disc needs to do is hold onto the top lip of the can outwards, with the cutting wheel pressing inwards sideways into the can.Once I fumbled with it the first two or three cans and learned how to do it, I've had no problems. Functionally, it works as seamlessly, easy, and quick as a normal can opener.First, as advertised, the cut edge always comes out smooth and safe, unlike the jagged edge produced by all can openers that cut down into the lid. No sharp edges at all. For that, alone, it is superior and worth it. Not a huge problem, but when you can avoid sharp pieces of metal, that's an improvement. The sharp metal becomes unnecessary.Second, because you cut the entire lid off instead of cut the lid into a circular piece, you can replace the lid back on the can to put the remainder of the can in the fridge: particularly useful for pet food. I bought some fancy little plastic lids to "re-seal" a half-used can of pet food, which prevents the food from drying out in the fridge while also preventing spills and aromas from pet food from stinking up the fridge. Those plastic lids are not necessary, now. The lid doesn't not "snap" on as tightly as the plastic lids, but they do a good enough job re-sealing it for the brief time the can sits in the fridge.Third, because it only has one handle instead of two handles that clamp together, it takes up much less space in the utensil drawer.Fourth, although you cannot "see" the cut progress and finish like standard can openers, you can feel a change in tension when the cutting disc completes its turn around the can. Then you can just lift the lid off with the opener as a handle. The lid stays on the opener, the can stays on the counter. Or you can turn the knob the other direction to release the cutting wheel's tension, and just pull the lid off. (I prefer using the device to pull the lid off because that confirms it is done and doesn't need to be re-seated, yada, yada.) But the upshot is that you do not need to "dig" into the can with your finger or fingernail to pull the lid out from inside the can. Because it cuts the lid off, you just take the entire lid off.The one downside is that I used to use the circular piece of the lid that the standard can openers cut off to press down into cans of tuna fish and squeeze out the water. Because this opener cuts the entire lid off from underneath the lip, the lid will not go inside the can to serve as a press. A feature in one aspect is also a small drawback. But I don't eat much tuna fish, so that is not a huge problem. I just use the lid as a strainer (hold it on while water escapes through the crack) instead of a press.Still, it is smaller, safer, and better. Strange as it might sound, they did successfully re-invent the can-opener!

Title: Best Manual Can Opener Out There!
Review: This is the best manual can opener that I've even used. It's easy to use, taking very little strength to turn the handle. As advertised, it is "safe" to use in that unlike the usual hand held manual openers, it cuts the outside of the can and not the lip inside the top rim of the can. The top comes off in one piece with no sharp edges on the top of can. It also works every time unlike my previous hand openers which would cut partially at times leaving a half opened can and few options. This opener is a game changer. I only wish I had bought it years ago. It would have saved me a lot of frustration and more than a few cuts on my hands!

Title: It works!
Review: Since returning home after recovering from a TBI (traumatic brain injury) I've had to relearn how to use kitchen utensils/gadgets that I used to take for granted. Using my old can openers resulted in deformed/jagged rims and uncut tops. This Safe Cut can opener is very easy to use and leaves a dull edge when the can is opened. Once I got used to its operation, I've had no problems opening small or large cans. I've taken all my old can openers to Goodwill and Salvation Army so someone who is healthier than I am can benefit from their use.

Title: Great choice of can openers creating NO sharp edges
Review: This works very well to open cans while leaving NO sharp edges. Initially tricky to get it placed on the canâs lid to get it started. Once I got used to it, it was very easy. I had an electric one that was great but needed batteries. Once the blades didnât work in the electric one, I looked for alternate. Being manual, this one avoids the use and waste of batteries. It uses some strength to turn the handle so someone with bad arthritis in their hands may want the electric variety. I am recovering from a broken wrist but have no issue turning the handle with the affected arm. Overall, itâs a great purchase and will be ordering a second one!

Title: Efficient. Economic.
Review: Had trouble using first time, somewhat easy the second, & opened a 4 in. Tuna can in about 3 seconds just now.Rubber handle has nice grip.Gear lever could be better quality. (Plastic)Very effective once the right placement is applied.(Placement is effortlessly laying the tool on its guard & allowing teeth to bite as simultaneously turning lever clock wise)

Title: Great except if you have arthritis
Review: This is now my go-to can opener. We had purchased a regular opener prior to this with great reviews but bought this one only because we left it at a family member's home by accident. I read such great reviews about this one, so I decided to give it a try.The Pakitner works very well. It cuts on top of the can and leaves no sharp edge. It fastens easily to the can which can be a challenge with other openers. The blade does not touch the food which is a huge plus to me as I do not put my can openers in the dishwasher, but because I mostly open salmon cans, have some concern it will be fully clean with hand washing. It has a slim silhouette so it does not take up much room in my utensil draw.It cuts the can easily and is easy to grip. I found the only drawback to be how difficult it is to turn the handle (especially when new) when opening the can. This would definitely be a drawback to people with arthritis in their hands. If that happens to be your case, you may want to consider a regular can opener instead.

Review: Cuts off the lid of the can from the outside edge. No mess.Turn handle back (anti clockwise) put the opener on top of the can then turn clockwise. The can will rotate as you turn the handle. After a 360° rotation the top of the can will just lift off with the opener.Very easy to use, good value.Waited more than one month for delivery?
