Title: Excellent machine - but with one design flaw
Review: Except for one problem described below, this machine delivers truly amazing results. Its best feature is the ability to store eight different customized settings. My spouse and I differ in the amount of milk and coffee we want in our optimal cup, but it's been no sweat to create a custom setting for each of us. It functions at optimal temperature and pressure. It's easy to use and clean. With the right brew timing, it tastes awesome.When I say easy to use, bear in mind that expresso machines always require more labor than traditional coffee makers. That extra effort does pay off -- in flavor. It's important to tamp the shot, use the right brew time for the volume of coffee, clean the milk dispenser, and wipe down the brew head after each session. Also, I find the milk temperature too cool, especially when removing stored milk from the fridge, so I heat the milk for a minute in the microwave before starting my coffee run.Its one flaw is an overly small gap between the portafilter and the brew head. A single shot of espresso should be 7-9 grams and a double shot 13-15 grams. You will even find this stated in the included product manual. However, when I use the single-shot filter, I can only fit 5 grams of coffee, and with the double-shot filter a maximum of 10.5 grams. Add more coffee and the portafilter flatly refuses to twist into the machine. As a result, the single-shot filter is effectively useless and I have to brew two cups to make my standard morning coffee loadout. I've uploaded pictures to illustrate. In one, you can see the single-shot container from this device (on the left) and my older single-shot filter from another machine on the right. Notice how far the MAX line differs between the two. The other shows the double-shot filter nearly full with 9.8 grams of coffee.For me, this is still a 5-star machine. It's not burdensome to reuse the filter a few times in the morning. While I don't like the machine's preset brew and milk times, it just takes a few button presses to reset them with my preferences. I suspect the reviewers complaining about the flavor didn't get past the presets to set appropriate custom brew timings. Nevertheless, I would expect a machine at this price point to be able to deliver a proper double shot.

Title: Great espresso machine, excellent after-sale service
Review: I buy coffee from Starbucks almost every day, and recently I realized it might be more cost-effective to get a coffee machine for home. I’ve been considering this for a while and spent nearly two weeks searching for one on Amazon. Finally, I found this coffee machine with an LED temperature and time display, which made me feel confident in the brand.The product also came with a helpful video tutorial, and the instructions were very clear, making it easy for beginners like me to follow. When I had some questions after using it for a bit, I reached out to customer service. They responded quickly and provided detailed answers. Title: Absolutely excellent brand quality and value for money!!
Review: this espresso machine makes better lattes than my Delonghi and has more brewing selections such as using a separate hot water dispenser for Americano and hot water. I have probably had 6 or more espresso machines in the last 15 years. This one was heating faster than any other i ever had. With its powerful 20 bar pressure. it consistently deliver rich and creamy espresso! The LED water temperature and time display is a good touch and i can clearly see the process of making coffee in this machine.It has nice stainless steel finish and is study. Will last a long time!

Title: It works well, but I wish I could reliably get warmer drinks
Review: I'll start out by saying I'm comparing this unit to a Mr. Coffee Cafe Barista that we own that is a little more than half the price of this unit, has been in use for over two years, and has reliably produced two lattes almost every day, along with additional espressos. I know and love the Mr. Coffee machine despite its flaws, so this unit had a lot to live up to.I'll first start with what I like:* The controls are pretty easy, and the colored lights help indicate what the machine is doing* I can easily produce an espresso drink of my choice with minimal input* The portafilter is 51mm and all my existing espresso tools work well with it* The unit is almost silent when heating the water - I didn't even realize it was heating the water!* The machine has no problems with pushing out a double-shot of espresso through fine, tightly-packed grounds* The dosing of milk is consistent, regardless of the level of milk in the frothing unit, something that is a huge improvement over the Mr. Coffee machine I have* Cleaning the frothing unit is easy with the built-in cleaning operation, but I really need to make sure to hold down the buttons long enough* The machine gives the expert owner the ability to tweak water measurements, but I will likely not take advantage of this* The construction is sturdy with the outside being all stainless sheet metal - much more sturdy-feeling than the Mr. Coffee's plastic body.* The area under the portafilter is actually wide enough for two shot glasses in case you want to brew two shots, one into each shot glass. My Mr. Coffee machine doesn't have as much room for that.What I'm not as fond of:* The machine had a strong "plastic" smell when I initially used it. This was during the suggested process of pushing water through. I decided to use some vinegar to help deodorize the unit and the smell persisted somewhat even after that. This was after pushing through the equivalent of 4 or 5 full reservoirs of water of which one was a diluted vinegar solution. The smell has diminished somewhat now, but I wasn't fond of this* I suspect the "198F" reading is just a "feel good" display. I hardly think that this unit gets the water to 198 degrees F and holds it there in a precise fashion. I would prefer to have not only an accurate temperature reading but also the ability to tweak the temperature* Drinks are measurably colder from this machine than my Cafe Barista. The Mr. Coffee Cafe Barista reliably pumps out very hot shots and frothed milk - arguably maybe a little too hot. The drinks from this unit, however, are almost lukewarm. The manual suggests pre-heating the mug with hot water, but I would rather be able to deliver a drink that is a bit hotter than what this delivers* I wish the brewing area under the portafilter was just a little taller. Yes, I can remove the drip tray for some room, but I'd rather keep that there for security.In summary, I feel like there are just a few things holding this unit back from a higher score. For now, I'll primarily use my Mr. Coffee machine and this as a backup. I like how compact this unit is, how easy it is to use, and how sturdy it is. I wish it wasn't so difficult to clean it of the plastic smell initially and I wish it brewed hotter, or at least let me tweak the temperature. With just those things fixed, I would easily give it that extra star.
