Title: Great for the money
Review: This radio is on the lower end of price when it comes to a double din that has Apple CarPlay but it has worked flawlessly since day one! I donât drive the truck often so it sits a lot so that means this radio has been thru summer heat and winter cold and starts right up everytime no problem, no lagging or buffering whatsoever. Highly recommend if youâre on a budget!

Title: Amazing for $200!
Review: This is a great unit for the price. The camera is comes with isnât amazing but itâs still a clear enough picture to know what your backing up to. I put this in my 15yo daughterâs car so she could use her phone for music and directions without having it in her hands. I replaced the factory 6.5 and 6x9 speakers too and this thing powers them really well. I was worried Iâd have to put a small amp in there but I didnât. It actually sounds really good. Heads up, it turns the music way down when you shift in neutral. Pretty cool feature for a new driver but that would drive me nuts. Not sure if itâs a setting. I didnât look since I wanted it to stay on.

Title: Great Head unit for the price!
Review: My wife's 2011 Nissan Sentra severely needed an audio upgrade. She got spoiled by having carplay in our other car and decent quality audio for phone calls. This thing came in to save the day at a decent price point. I know there are other head units for almost half the price of this one... but I really didn't want to risk going through the work of installing a radio system to find out it has a crappy GUI and/or terrible sound quality. The installation for this went as expected (if you've ever done a radio install). Took me about 6-8 hours total with looking up video guides, routing wiring, and getting everything tested out.Cons: I had to take 1 star off for this, but would have only taken a half star if possible... The mic that came with this had the crappiest little mount, I'm pretty sure it was broken out of the box, but even if it wasn't, it was really flimsy. I was able to route the mic up the left windshield pillar and gave it enough tension that it sits reasonably well between where pillar and the roofline meet. Once installed, I called my wife and she confirmed everything sounded nice and clear. If I were to add any other cons. I think the wiring that comes off the included camera could have been longer. Although this might have been particular to the Sentra. To get it all connected properly, I had to cut the wiring and extend it so I could route it out of the trunk lid and through the grommets that go into the trunk. It wasn't really that big of a deal, but added more work than I expected for this portion.Pros: We'll see what the wife says after a few weeks, but I think the interface is perfect. Not flashy, not too plain, it just has all the essentials laid out simply, and the settings area is the same. I hate products that overcomplicate settings, or has a wonky UI that wasn't thought out and has a bunch of weird quirks or menu's that weren't vetted by native speakers. The sound! Holy crap the sound. I knew a replacement head unit might product better sound than the stock unit, but wow, even without a sub, in my wife's very stock 2011 Sentra, you can really get the bass bumpin when you turn the 'loud' mode on. I think I may still replace her speakers as certain mid frequencies sound a little tinny, but the quality of sound improvement surprised me.The screen: I haven't driven around in varied conditions yet, but in our driveway the screen looks pretty good day and night. The response time and feel on the finger tips feels nice. It's definitely a higher resolution screen than what we have in our 2021 Hyundai, which I found surprising.Backup Camera: This seems like a really basic no frills camera. I have a feeling we'll need to tighten the screw that holds its angle in place. Overall though, it does the job and is really helpful to have.

Title: Three Strikes and You Are Out....
Review: I really wanted this unit to work for adding CarPlay and Bluetooth to an older vehicle. But after purchasing three from two different vendors and returning all of them, I gave up. I am not a car audio professional, but I am an electronics engineer and have been toying with car and home audio most of the past 30 years.First letâs start with the pros:Nice quality screen, easy, ergonomic functionality, and intuitive to use.Physical volume knob (hard to find)Front and rear camera (optional add-ons, I didnât evaluate).Wired Apple Carplay works well. Very responsive. I had no issues with it connecting and staying connected. This unit does not support Wireless Apple Carplay. Front USB connection does not offer CarPlay, must use the rear USB dongle and connect a Lightning cable to it and fish out the front of your dash. Not a big deal I have a cable hanging in a car all the time anyway.Bluetooth paired and worked well with my iPhone 10.Screen resolution and touch sensitivity performs well.Plentiful pre-tapped mounting holes in various configurations allowed my existing side brackets to make a perfect fit in my 2000 4Runner. Front bezel fit perfectly in the dash.FM tuning and pre-sets work great.I had no problems with the functionality like other reviews.Has 3-year warranty, and from talking with their support, I donât think you would have an issue with a warranty claim. They were fast to answer, and really wanted to help. Now the Cons:Built-in 4-channel amplifier is severely underpowered. I think my clock radio in my bedroom has more power than this thing. Boss states on their web site this has a 320W amplifier (80Wx 4 channels). This is total baloney. I opened it up and took a look at the numbers on the amplifier chip: TDA7388 made by STMicroelectronics. Their data sheet shows this as a 4 channel x 26 Watt @ 14.4 V, 1 kHz, 10 % Class AB Amplifier. The distortion (THD) graph shows 10% at 11W (this is why is distorts the sound as you turn the volume up to 50% level). To overcome road noise and actually hear music it needs to be 40% to 50% and then the sound unbearably distorts. I was so disappointed in this. For the price I was willing to get over this and manually wire the RCA pre-amp outputs into a 4-channel 25W/channel external amp (even with this little wattage the sound was like night and day compared to the internal amp). But when the pre-amp outputs were used, there was a constant hissing noise on the outputs. I tried three different units, all had the same problem. Even with nothing connected the noise showed on my o-scope. Boss has US based support, and they seem to stand behind their products, but they could offer no explanation. All they could offer was a RMA replacement on the units. Because I was in the 30-day Amazon return period, I didnât want to risk a full refund.I donât know why the unit is 6.3â deep. It is literally hollow inside and the whole thing weights 27 oz.Some of the good reviews on Amazon and Crutchfield blow my mind. These buyers must really have replaced sucky factory units. My Toyota factory unit this was to replace is not âpremiumâ by any measure, but had decent quality sound. Even though the features and operation of this Boss unit were nice, I am buying it to hear it not to watch it. I still can't get over how bad it sounded so I can't give it more than one star. I ended up purchasing a ATOTO A6G2A7PF due to another posted review and could no be happier with it, in fact it blew me away for the price point (and it has wireless CarPlay).

Review: Installed that in a 2008 Toyota Matrix. The radio doesn't fit very well in the hole, but it is what it is with this kind of "modification". It works very well with Android and the included backup camera. They are features that still need testing, but so far we are pleased with it.

Review: I usually shun cheap decks because I've had a lot of bad experiences. This one surprised me. The screen is bright, however it is not quite as crisp as our pioneer. The sound is good, apple play and android auto work better than our pioneer. I will be buying a similar model for my truck.
