Title: Good price for a trusted name brand.
Review: Just had a whole house generator installed. Local code requires CO detectors in all bedrooms if you have a generator. These plug in to a wall receptacle so installation is easy. The two AA back-up batteries are included. The alarm is loud & piercing. They are well made which is typical of other First Alert devices that I have.

Title: Good units, I just don't like the red light in place of a green.
Review: I bought two of these to replace some older CO detectors which were nearing the end of their lives. I haven't tested these units for accuracy but I have no reason to believe they will not work. Installation was simple. Just put the batteries in and plug in to the wall. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because I don't like that the "everything is ok" status is a solid red light. Red light = bad! in our society. It would be much more comforting to look at these units and see a solid green light when all is well, especially when that's how my smoke detector works. When you're getting these set up, I'd recommend first noting the dates of manufacture printed on the back to get an idea of when they're going to need to be replaced. Both units I bought were less than a year old. Also, test that battery that comes with the unit to make sure it's good. Test the unit when its unplugged and when its plugged in to make sure it beeps.

Title: Manufactured Dates
Review: Just received these tonight. They came well packaged, new, no tampering. Each unit came with it's own back up battery. Directions / instruction booklet is thorough, though print is very small, even for someone who's (relatively) young yet.I tested each unit once I installed the barriers & they functioned as expected. They are pretty loud, which is good. Once plugged in the red light glows steadily which is what it's supposed to do. Some people mentioned it being really bright, they aren't.Lastly, please note that the date on the back of the unit is NOT the expiration date! This is the manufactured date (see my photos).I'll update if one of them starts acting up, otherwise I feel good about these & would recommend.
