The Kidde Carbon Monoxide Detector, Plug In Wall with 9-Volt Battery Backup, Digital LED Display uses electrochemical sensor technology to detect poisonous CO gas in your home and alert you by sounding an 85-decibel alarm. Setup is easy as the Kidde carbon monoxide alarm plugs into a standard, 120V AC power outlet in your home, while a 9-volt alkaline battery (included) works as a backup in the event of a power failure. When carbon monoxide is detected, the digital display shows the level of carbon monoxide the alarm is sensing and updates every 15 seconds. Peak Level Memory records the last time carbon monoxide was detected or when the unit was tested. The Smart-Hush button silences the unit for approximately 8 minutes, which is helpful when this smoke detector carbon monoxide detector combo sounds from things like routine cooking or shower steam. Extension cord (included) allows for placement on a table or shelf. Install a carbon monoxide smoke detector combo on every level of your home and near bedrooms to help keep your family safe. UL Certified with a 10-year limited manufacturer's warranty. Meets requirements of UL 2034, UL217, NFPA72, (chapter 11 2002 edition) The State of California Fire Marshal, NFPA101 (One and two family dwellings) Federal Housing Authority (FHA), Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

Title: Outstanding and long-lasting Detectors..........
Review: My Mom bought two of these sometime before August of 2014. Kidde stated they would last 10 years. Well....that they did!! One gave out the second week of August 2024, the other one in the following week. I was so impressed; I bought these two to replace them. HIGHLY recommended not only for their longevity, but that piece-of-mind, knowing you're being protected..........!!!!

Title: Quality CO detector. Worthwhile investment.
Review: Quality Kidde brand CO detector. I replaced my original one with this identical one after 10 years of service, when it finally beeped and showed "END" in the display, which renders it useless, which is by design.Ironically, I never had any CO issues or alerts, until about a few months before its 10th anniversary in service. My home's natural gas boiler was over 25 years old, and begin leaking CO from incomplete combustion issues. This Kidde CO detector audibly alerted me and displayed the current CO level as well as the maximum CO level that it had recorded.Very simple to use and displays basic, yet useful information. I was able to open the windows and ventilate my house to prevent the excess CO buildup from harming us, thanks to this CO detectors audible & visual alerts.Hope they're still making this model 10 years from now, when I will need another one, or if I decide to move and want to purchase a new one. It's certainly not the cheapest CO unit on the market, but it's a good value for the money.Oh, it plugs directly into any standard 110-volt power outlet and it has a 9-volt battery backup, battery included. Although they recommend you replace the 9V backup battery every few years, I never replaced mine, and it was still almost as good as the day it was installed. My Kidde CO detector is plugged into an outlet in our upstairs hallway just outside of our bedroom. Fortunately, it also fit perfectly next to (below) my plug-in doorbell, which was a huge plus!I'm planning on installing one in the basement, near the gas boiler as well. Should have done that years ago, as we would have likely received an earlier "heads-up" that there was a combustion problem with the boiler. One last note: You can remote wall-mount this unit also. Cool feature! If you look at the last picture that I posted with this review, you can see that when the rear access cover is removed to access the backup battery, there is extra cord stored on the opposite side of the battery. The connected main power source plug can be easily removed and relocated/extended, via the corded connection, in order to have the CO detector located somewhere other than directly plugged into the power source. There is also a handy little clear plastic packet included, containing two wood/mounting screws and two wall mount plastic expanding inserts. (Not shown in picture.)Just can't say enough good stuff about this unit. Very pleased with it!

Title: Great for peace of mind
Review: Super easy to install because it just plugs right in to an outlet. It's a little bit bigger than I expected, but the screen is not bright or obstructive so you barely notice it. I can't say for sure how accurate the alarm is, as it's never registered above 0 since we started using it, but it's great for peace of mind. Overall a good value.

Title: Simple set-up was frustrating
Review: The product seems to be working very well. How there was a problem attempting to open the back in order to install the battery. It took many failed attempts at what should be a simple task, but finally it worked. Others have had similar problems with this item.

Review: They seem good, a couple were banged up from shipping but they still work. All of them were manufactured well over a year ago... so only time will tell if they still last ten years or not.
