Title: Great First Experience with Cat Litter—Zero Complaints!
Review: As a first-time pet owner, ökocat Natural Wood Cat Litter is the very first litter I've tried, and I couldn’t be happier with it. Even though I have nothing to compare it to, I can confidently say that it has exceeded my expectations. The litter clumps SO well, making cleanup straightforward, and it controls odors effectively, keeping my SMALL dorm room fresh.I use a top-exit litter box to minimize tracking, and it works well with this litter. While some tracking still occurs, it’s minimal compared to what I’ve seen with other litters my roommate’s cat has used. Over the past three months, my roommate has tried at least four different types of litter, and seeing those frequent switches makes me appreciate how well ökocat performs. The natural wood composition is a big plus for me, although it does smell like lumber, as I wanted something eco-friendly and safe for my cat, you get used to it and it feels like a healthier option for my pet and home environment.

Title: NO smell.
Review: My top priorities for litter were no clay and odor control.I tried Sustainably Yours (corn and cassava) and pine pellets before; SY made the entire room reek for $20 a month, and pine pellets were just inconvenient with having to update my entire litterbox system (sifting litterbox, pee pads, etc.) Before making the switch to natural litters, I liked A&H Unscented litter for its odor control.Okocat is perfect. Very reasonably priced considering the weight is equal to double the amount you'd get of the same lbs of clay, since wood is lighter per volume. For the first time, I walked into the room and actually forgot to scoop. Nothing smelled. Even when I scooped. Slightly less tracking than A&H litter. Doesn't sludge up and stick to the bottom of the tray. Great clumping, firmer than I expected. Just perfect litter, and probably easier to switch to than pellets for pickier cats.EDIT: There actually is sawdust. It doesn't stick to furniture or soil your surroundings like clay dust does, but it's there when you pour in the last bit of litter and after a while of scooping. Not really an issue for me at all. There's also tracking (with a 4-5 month old kitten), not anymore than clay litter, but I clean daily regardless so I don't mind. I have a standard steel litterbox pan with no mat or anything to minimize tracking. Smell does start coming in right after 'use' about 2-3 weeks into using the same litter. I used to deep clean and reset the litterbox once a week with A&H so this is already a huge improvement.

Title: All told, much better than traditional clay
Review: Update after 6 moths:Still really like this litter. Zero urine smell even with the box going 2 days & the cat pees several times a day (clumping litter is great for keeping tabs on that). Do you smell poops? Of course. No litter prevents that right after the cat poops. Are your poops odorless? No. But the litter dries the poops out quickly and there is no lingering poop smell. Yes, it tracks - a lot. Yes, it's very dusty but it's not the fine dust of clay. But still very dusty - just being honest. There's a film on everything near the box. The top entry box is a must with this litter & there is still lots of little particles outside the box, but again, it's physics. If you want a soft wood-based litter that clumps, you have to compromise on something. This clumps really well.Update after 3 months:Odor control: Really quite good. One cat household. Male. One litter box.Clumping: the secret seems to be you have to keep enough litter in the box. We had been using a regular litter pan & only putting about 1.5" of litter because the little devil would kick so much out while digging. And then the clumps would be pancakes stuck to the bottom that we'd have to scrape off. Switched to a top entry box where we can keep the litter deeper - about 4" - and now we get perfect spheres. And the clumps stay clumped.Dust: Have to amend this to say this litter is more than a little dusty. With the top entry box, you can now see the dust adhered to the inside of the box. We will try the larger particle Okocat next time (bigger particles than this soft paws stuff, smaller than pellets) as we've decided we like the clumping litter.Tracking: Light tiny bits of wood so yeah, it tracks. Short haired cat. Most stays close to the box, but if tracking is a deal breaker for you, probably try the other version of clumping Okocat or the pellets.Original Review:We have a 4 month old kitten that's been using traditional non-clumping clay as starter litter. HATE the fragrance. HATE the dust. God, the dust. So terrible for lungs. Ours & the cat's. And it's worse because this cat likes to get in the box and go nuts digging & moving the litter into mini-mountains. Just for fun.We tried pine pellets which we'd used with all our other cats in the past, but the little menace wanted to eat them. (I swear we did not pray for patience.)So we went looking for something that was similar in consistency to clay but wood. I'm sure the cat would eat corn or wheat litter so that was never even considered.PROS:Very little dust & what dust there is settles fastSuper light - makes it easy to move the box & empty itAlmost no scent at all & what scent there is is basically a faint fresh lumber smellTexture is very fine (see photos) so Mr. Picky Pants doesn't try to eat it or act like he's being asked to walk on hot coalsSo far, good odor control (urine & feces) even after 2 weeksCONS:Tracks like CRAZY (see photos) - cat's boxes are in the condo & most stays in there, thoughClumps are not super strong - you have to be very gentle with the scoopingSometimes the clumps stick to the bottom of the pan & break up when trying to release themWe put out one box of regular clay and one of this. We didn't mix them. I hate that. Over a week, he gradually moved to using the Okocat mostly. He's still using the clay some, but he's doing all his business in the Okocat to some degree. We'll take away the clay next week and see what happens. We are considering making our own top entry box from a rubbermaid container for him to see if that cuts down on the tracking (and because he'll probably start spray-peeing soon).I expected the tracking - you can't make something this fine & light & not expect it to track. Our cat is short haired. I can only imagine what a long haired cat would be like...What they need to work on is the clumping. I know from reading about the product, they say you should wait an hour before trying to scoop pee. But in my experience, if you wait too long (like overnight pee), the clumping gets weaker. maybe due to evaporation of the liquid. Dunno.

Title: Dog friendly! NO SMELL, SERIOUSLY.
Review: Sooooo I am not your average reviewer here, as this cat litter and I own two dogs. However, I came to sing to the praises of this stuff for my own sanity.See I own two miniature dachshunds. If you know anything about the breed, they are somewhat famous for not wanting to go potty outside. I also live in a second story apartment, with only one tiny patch of grass within walking distance. So I made an executive decision when I got two puppies to train them on a grass potty box. Wow, did that go HORRIBLY. After a year plus of fighting with torn up plastic grass, spraying it weekly, drainage issues, PEE PEE FEET, and smelling some worse piss smell of my life, I finally decided to try actual litter. Now, I am a bit of a DIY-er and I made a custom litter box for the girls, and a mesh topper to stop tracking/protect this paw pads from the thick hard pellets. But the crown jewel of it IS this litter. I’m so serious when I say I FORGET to scoop it because of the lack of smell (poop on the mesh gets cleaned daily). After seven or so months, I am subscribed and I don’t plan on changing anytime soon. No dust, fairly easy to pick up clumps, absorbs beautifully, and isn’t crazy heavy or expensive. Honestly, the dogs don’t seem to mind it, husband doesn’t complain about the smell, and I never have to pressure wash plastic grass EVER AGAIN.My use case is a bit out of spec of the product but I love it and I’m never going back!!

Review: Pros: Love how it seems to neutralize the odour normally associated with litter boxes. Doesn't track nearly as much as clay based litters. Easy transition for cats to start using it. Lighter weight for volume than clay based litter.Cons: cost, but better value than some others we've tried.

Review: I have used this litter for nearly one year and it is just fantastic. Yes it tracks and yes you have to sweep once a day ( 2 cat home ) but that is nothing when you compare to the clay brands. This brand does not stink! if anything I catch whiffs of lumber, and I dont mind that at all. One of my cats paws cant handle the crappy clay litter brands, I spent a fortune ($50) on one bag of recycled paper pellets before finding this one and the pellets are THE WORST. You cant scoop and sift it, you cant tell which pellets are filled with urine etc. so I gave it away. The super soft wood in this product does not bother either of my cats paws. It is totally flushable! Just watch you dont drop a big bomb into the toilet or it may plug, but is easily cleared with a plunger 😉 It does track but what litter doesnt ( or is perfect?)It lasts a long time, I use about 1 $30 box per month for 2 cats and 2 litter boxes!! I will never go back to that gross clay stuff that embeds and sticks in between the paw pads and in the paw fur (causing infection in my cats paw more than once, vet bills!)I honestly rate this 10 out of 10. Just buy a broom or vacuum the tracked stuff once a day and you will love it too 🙂

Review: We have tried World's best, Boxie Cat, Pretty Litter, regular store kitty litters and more. This is my favourite and my cat's like it quite well.We have 3 cats in an apartment. So smell is an on going concern (along with hair, but that is another story). This was hands down the best litter at eliminating smell. I also hate it when kitty litter tracks everywhere. This is moderately good for that. Not as good as the crystal kitty litter, but my cats were not a fan of crystal (pretty litter and the like) litter and I found it was heavy and smelly unless replaced way more often than recommended. This is light, smells like wood shavings, clumps well, my cats like using it and it only moderately tracks around. And because it is light it sweeps and vacuums up easily. Also lasts a good amount of time.

Review: I love love LOVE this litter. i have my cat's litter box in my bathroom so its important to me that it doesn't stink, and this litter delivered! it clumps nicely around liquid and sometimes the solid waste stays on top of the pellets if my cat decides he doesn't want to bury it XD which i still find great for keeping an eye on my baby's health. even then its still scentless. for tracking i use a litter mat and its amazing how i rarely ever find a stray pellet outside the mat. i also used it with a bit of litter deodorizer for good measure, and cleaning the box has never been easier <3 i personally think its a worthwhile investment.
