Title: Love it. Cleaning it, not so much.
Review: I was looking for a sandwich press with a safe cooking surface, and discovered this press. Something for a fun snack here or there. I hadn't had a grilled cheese since I was in my teens and have been wanting to try one that's been made on a press like this. Let me say, this made the best grilled cheese I've ever had. Way better than how I remember making them in a frying pan on the stove, and a lot quicker. Both sides toasted nicely, for me, in just 4 minutes(Tried 5 and a little to burnt for my liking. I believe recipe included says 5 minutes for a grilled cheese). Only issue with the press is cleaning it. The cooking surface is easy to clean, but whatever may leak out of the sandwich onto the exterior plastic is hard to clean off. When I bought it, I expected the cooking surface to be removable for cleaning/rinsing. Nope, regardless, I highly recommend this press. A lot of fun.

Review: I was excited to start using this product. I followed the directions to clean the surface before using. I made my husband & I basic Grilled Cheese Sandwiches. Being careful not to put too much cheese, being I didn’t know how it will turn out. I followed the directions provided how to make the Grilled Cheese. First issue, was the latch was hard to align & clip closed. Second, I noticed cheese oozing from the sides & from the back all over the hinges & heating cable. Third, the melted cheese made it hard to open the top to get the sandwiches out. It finally opened, there was cheese all over. I took the 2 sandwiches out and wiped the plates to prepare for the next 2 sandwiches. There was cheese stuck to the plastic frame, couldn’t get the cheese off easily. Put the final 2 sandwiches in, same amount of cheese as the first two. The same thing happened, cheese oozing out of the sides & out of the back. Even though I cleaned the plates before use, there was a strange taste to the sandwiches. Needless to say neither my husband or I were happy with the Gotham Steel Sandwich Maker. I would hate to see what a mess there would be if we were making any other recipes in the booklet. One positive note, it did do a good job browning the bread. Because we used the item, we didn’t think we could return it & threw it away. Our advice is don’t waste your money.

Review: Has a super strange smell that has never gone away but doesn’t affect the flavor. It fell out of the cupboard so about 1.5 feet and broke a chunk off of it.

Review: What I love about this Gotham sandwich maker is how easy and delicious the sandwiches comes out, you need no butter or oil added so is healthier, however I like to put a little garlic olive oil and wow beautiful!!I hesitated a little since the reviews were not good, but I went ahead and bought and I’m glad I did. This makes the perfect sandwich every time not burn bread or soft , just toasted to perfection.Oh and the best has yet to come how easy to clean it is, I just use a wet paper towel and voila clean and shiny again.Nothing sticks to it, durable and very well made of strong titanium fused with super slick ceramic you make two sandwiches, the lid locks and is very easy to use red means not ready and green means is ready to eat yummy. Recommended
