«Chios Mastiha: A tear that pleases, perfumes, relieves, heals!» Chios Mastiha is the name of a resinous sap produced from the mastic tree (Pistacia Lentiscus var. Chia). It is a natural, aromatic resin in teardrop shape, falling on the ground in drops from superficial scratches induced by cultivators on the tree's trunk and main branches with sharp tools. As it drips, this sap appears as a sticky and translucent liquid which, 15-20 days later, is solidified into irregular shapes influenced by the area's weather conditions in summertime, that is intense drought and sunlight. After being solidified, it has a crystal form, while its rather bitter taste quickly subsides to leave a distinctive aroma that really makes it unique. That solid product is then harvested and washed by mastic growers, giving us finally the natural Chios mastiha. Its colour is initially ivory-like but as time goes by, that shade is lost and 12 to 18 months later it changes into yellowish due to oxidation. It is made of hundreds of components, among which only 80 are contained in identifiable quantities. Such multitude probably justifies the multiple uses of Chios mastiha, in the fields of food industry, health and cosmetic care, worldwide. Chios Mastiha is a unique product with many beneficial qualities and wide- ranging uses since antiquity. Nowadays, it is used in pharmaceuticals, perfumes, cosmetics, beverages, bakery goods, sweets as well as in cooking. Chios Mastiha is the natural resin of Pistacia lentiscus var. Chia, a tree which grows only on the Aegean island of Chios, Greece. Scientific research shows that Chios Mastiha has beneficial effects on both body hygiene and skin care. You can use mastic as ordinary chewing gum, or you can grind it into powder.

1 pack of 25gr - Fresh Chios Mastiha Tears Gum Greek 100% Natural Mastic - Gathered From The Mastic Growers Of Chios Island. It comes from the mastic tree that only grows in the island of Chios and it is hand cleaned piece by piece by mastic growers. Its unique properties are unique and recognized all around the world.
In summer time the mastic tears maybe stuck together due to high temperatures during shipping, just place them in a cold place and they will get back their hard former state. Mastic should be preserved either in a fridge or a cool place that will not exceed 64 οF or 18 οC. If it is placed in a warm place it becomes soft stick together or it turn into liquid form.
If the mastic sticks together and becomes one block, you can place it in the freezer for a few hours and brake it into smaller pieces. You can get the mastic back and forth between the two states (hard and soft) as many time as you like and it will not go bad in any way or lose any of its properties. Mastic gum is originally a liquid resin that comes out of the mastic tree and then it hardens with time.
As time passes mastiha turns yellowish and hardens due to oxidation but never loses its beneficial properties. If you keep it in a cold place and air tight, this process slows down. The taste might be a little bitter at the beginning but after a little time it relishes it unique taste and aroma!
Scientific research shows that Chios Mastiha has many beneficial attributes for both body hygiene and skin care. Also it can be grinded into powder and be used in cooking!

Title: It is what it is, and I love it.
Review: I've used an entire pack so far, which lasted about two weeks when stretching out its usage. The flavor is earthy, and it has definitely added strength and size to my masseter muscles. I feel my gut health has also improved.Follow the instructions for storage - I left it open once and the humidity did a number on the tears, making them softer when chewing and taking longer to get my desired chewing resistance.Open, rinse, let sit in your mouth for 20-30 seconds, then chew. Store as directed. It's not rocket science. 6/5 stars.

Title: Plastic in my mouthð¤®
Review: It was terrible. The pebbles were super small and so hard like a rock. I thought they would break a tooth. And they did not soften until I bit down on them. Nothing about this gum is true. You see people pinching it between their fingers I fear I was sold some plastic because that is the texture. It starts out like sandy rocks and end up feeling and tasting like plastic. Worst it is not returnable. Do not buy this.

Title: Good product!
Review: This is a good, quality, product. There's no flavor to speak of but, it seems to leave a slight waxy film on my teeth which drives me insane lol.I bought it after researching bacteria in the stomach. It does settle the stomach.

Title: Flavorless, but Iâm sure someone appreciates it
Review: Let me first off saying, I like the idea of this gum in theory, but tasting it was kind of bland, I was hoping for something with a more pleasant taste. Iâm sure thereâs people that really like this, but it just not for me. Itâs a cool concept, if there was a bit of lasting good flavor maybe Iâd try it again.

Title: Awesome Alternative Chewing Gum
Review: I bought this as a healthy alternative to chewing gum, and I will be buying more soon. If you're used to strong artificial chewing gum flavors, you will find this is very different. It tastes like ( because it is ) tree resin. The product arrived fresh, and in good condition, although it took a long time, all the way from Greece. It's a harder chew than standard soft chewing gums. I am an aggressive chewer; being hyper active, I enjoy chewing to help me think, so I like the added "resistance" of the texture of this gum. Some of the pieces are so fresh that they stick to my dental work, but after some chewing they settle down and don't stick any more. I did purchase another brand of much smaller pieces of Chios, and mixed a little with my Spry Xylitol gum, which worked out well. I love this so much that I don't mix it with the Xylitol gum any more. Although you might consider this gross - since it has it's own anti bacterial qualities - I often set it aside in a covered dish after chewing it for a while, and take it up again later. I have tried adding some essential oil of peppermint for flavor, but that turns it into an impossible sticky mess that you can hardly get off your teeth. Overall this is a fantastic product if you want a healthy alternative to chewing gums that are full of plasticizers, artificial sweeteners and flavorings.
Customers say
Customers like the quality, effectiveness, and functionality of the chewing gum. They mention it's tough, lasts a long time, and heals their guts. Some also say it works great for working the jaw muscles. However, some customers feel the value for money is not worth the money. They dislike the stickiness and size. Opinions are mixed on the taste and chewability.
