Title: Finger lickin"!
Review: My husband loves friend chicken so we recently purchased a deep fryer to live the dream at home. When I began looking for recipes, this one popped up. It does not disappoint! We've been working our way through the recipes from beginning to end and so far some of our favorites are the Popeye's copycat recipe, the macaroni and cheese, and the coleslaw. Everything we've made has been delicious! I highly recommend it. 6/5 stars!!

Title: A cookbook for the fried chicken lover
Review: I love fried chicken so of course I purchased FRIED AND TRUE. There are enough variations of fried chicken in this cookbook to last a good long time.I do wish I had purchased the hardcopy rather than the Kindle version in this case. The pictures are small on the Kindle and I'd like to be able to see them full-size.Another small minus: the captions are switched on a few of the pictures but it's easy to figure out which caption goes where. The recipes mostly come from the South, with a few on the West coast. I would have liked to have seen some from the Midwestern states or more of the Heartland. I know of at least two GREAT chicken places in the Denver area - Wishbone Restaurant around since 1963 and White Fence Farm around since 1973.If you love fried chicken in all its variations, this cookbook is for you. And I like, that for the most part, the ingredients are easy to find. There are a few more exotic recipes and the book lets you know where you might find the ingredients.

Title: Great recipes, information, VERY HAPPY!
Review: The recipes within this book are excellent! Everything in it is delicious and the information about the chefs who created them and the restaurants at which they are served was interesting and have inspired us to seek them out when traveling. My husband and I have downsized and I buy few cookbooks in actual print form. I first purchased this as an ebook but quickly saw that I would like to have a print copy of it. Add a shout out to Minnesota goodwill also as I bought it from them as a used book in what they described as "Very Good" condition. I would call it "Like New" condition. Very pleased with this purchase.

Title: This Bird is 'The Word'!!
Review: It's crispy, juicy, succulent, tender and oh so good!!! I'm talking about fried chicken! Who doesn't love this classic quentissential american dish? Rolled in flour or bread crumb coating and spices and deep-fried to a golden brown! Eaten hot or cold alongside satisfying sides like mashed potatoes, stuffing, macaroni & cheese, corn, coleslaw or potato salad, or with biscuits and gravy? Portable provisions, this has become america's favorite finger food! For years, fried chicken has become a regional specialty- a favorite of the Southern United States. But it took a civil war, an industrial revolution, and one very cantankerous bearded gentleman (Colonel Harlan Sanders) to get fried chicken to strut north of the Mason-Dixon Line out of the southern kitchens, and beyond American shores! Bravo to authors Lee Brian Schrager and Adeena Sussman for writing this great cookbook! (I love reading the foreword by Whoopi Goldberg too!)I Only wished that they included fried chicken recipes from restaurants such as KFC and Church's. Being Filipino-American, I also enjoyed Max's of Manilla for their fried chicken too!

Title: Favorite cookbook
Review: Learned how to cook with this book. If you can make fried chicken you can make anything. Did many of the recipes in the book. Problem is there weren't too many standout recipes. I feel like many of the Chefs altered their recipes. Either this- or I just wasn't so impressed with some of the spices. Fused a half dozen together to come up with one I liked best. I feel it's best to bake the chicken or boil in its marinade first and then fry only for a short period of time so the spices don't burn. Not sure why so few of these employ this method.

Title: Fantastic!!! Huge range of fried chicken from iconic places and wonderful chefs!
Review: I picked this up after a family vacation in Tennessee. We stopped in Nashville on the way to Gatlinburg, and again on the way home to try a little Nashville hot chicken. We were wowed! We’d tried Prince’s and Hattie B’s. I searched online and found that this book had Hattie B’s hot chicken in it, so I ordered a copy. I’m so glad I did! That chicken was flippin’ fantastic at home, too!The book has a really neat range, some iconic chicken places across the country and then fried chicken from chefs like Jacques Pépin, Yotam Ottolenghi, Marcus Samuelsson, and Tyler Florence. Fantastic. If you love fried chicken, you will love this book!

Title: A wonderful book!
Review: Having grown up in South Carolina and raised on chicken fried in an iron skillet by our cook, I know what the real thing tastes like. Her name was Grace Singleton and though she knew a lot of other things, she really knew how to fry chicken. This book by Lee Schrager and his team is simply a great new book that will provide you with hours of reading as you travel with him along a route that takes you all over the United States to find the eateries cooking up the best fried chicken. From Harlem to San Francisco, Lee covers some really wonderful people cooking their hearts out.And while there may be hundreds of ways to fry chicken, i think by the way Lee writes about the whole experience, he must like them all!

Title: Buy this book!
Review: This is the BEST BOOK EVER for frying really good chicken. I'd searched for decades for THE recipe to make southern fried chicken as I remember my Mom made it. This book has it and many other options that are bound to have one for your taste. The one I found best and used a technique I hadn't previously tried was from a restaurant in Harlem. If I recall correctly the chef was originally from Alabama. At any rate, it you're looking for a good fried chicken recipe, it's sure to be found in this book.

Review: I love fried chicken and this book is fascinating. Really nice photos of all the restaurants which gives you a feeling of visiting those places. I made pan fried chicken and it was so simple with simple ingredients. It was one of the best fried chicken I have ever made.I also tried the popeyes chicken but the recipe was really complex and loads of ingredients that are not available in the UK...in the end it didn't taste as good as the pan fried chicken recipe which was a lot easier to make.Highly recommended
