Title: Great book - modern takes on solid classics
Review: This book will make you a better cook, I can't recommend it enough. In a way that is easy to read and frequently hilarious, Scott shows you how to execute what the top restaurants in the world try to do: take a classic and make it your own with style and charisma. Title: Best of Both Worlds
Review: This cookbooks weaves three of my favorite things together - information, personal experiences, and great recipes. Reading this book makes you feel like you are sitting across from Scotty Scott and he is talking you through his recipes. I enjoyed hearing about the origins of various soul food recipes and hearing his take on them. I loved that there was a note from him on each recipe. His discourse leads to an informational and entertaining read.We tried the Blueberry Corn pancakes and he was spot on. Honey was the perfect accompaniment to the flavors. My family devoured them. We can’t wait to try more recipes this week!

Review: I was intrigued when I heard Scotty Scott’s interview on NPR Sunday. He really made his recipes seem compelling. He talked about recipes I wanted to make.Received the cookbook today and had a bunch of sweet potatoes so figured why not. Made the sweet potato pie. I always wanted to make a sweet potatoes pie but Chef Scott’s recipe made it not only approachable but a cinch.Just savored my first piece and yuuuuuum. The recipe turned out perfect. Not a glitch. I see what he means from “you’ll want more.” It’s light and fluffy and I want more.I’m enrolled and can’t wait to try many more recipes. The Red Beans and Rice is high on my list. Then the Salmon Croquettes.Not sure I’ve seen a cookbook with as many doable recipes that I want to make. I highly recommend this cookbook whether you’re Southern or not (I’m not).Seeet potato pie for breakfast? Why not?

Title: SO this is actually funny
Review: Turns out my 1 yr old bought this recipe book, lol. I'm always on my kindle and my son opens my phone ( I don't know how) but I saw thanks for purchasing and I thought "Nooooooo"..... I think I could've requested a refund......but the life of a busy mom, time escapes me and by the time I remember to get the refund it's too late. At this point i'm just hoping there's a recipe in here that's worth the $10. WHEN I TELL YOU, THE LIST OF THINGS I DONT WANT TO MAKE IN HERE is almost none. So i'm not mad at the purchase at all...…..now, lol. Buy it, I think you will be pleasantly surprised as well.
