The Versatile Chicken
Chicken is "the new hamburger." Low in fat and cholesterol, more nutritious and cheaper than ground beef, chicken has become the choice of diet-conscious, budget-conscious and taste-conscious Americans.
Here is a year's worth of succulent recipes celebrating chicken's versatility- baked; fried; barbecued; stewed; marinated; roasted -- you name it -- it's here. Special sections include recipes for "Chicken Lite" (low-calorie) "Chicken Quick," "Chicken Little" (Cornish Game Hens) and many from America's best-known chefs and restaurants.
Whether your tastes run from Buffalo's famous chicken wings to gumbos with a Cajun-kick, or from subtle and simple to smothered and "othered" (marinades and sauces), you will find months of new mouth-watering recipes that will tickle your fancy and tempt your palate.

Title: My favorite chicken cook book
Review: I love the 365 Ways to Cook Chicken Cookbook. So much so that I had to buy this new edition because mine was falling apart and I feared losing pages. I'm happy to see that the recipes haven't changed from the one I bought years ago so I could easily mark all my favorite recipes in the new one. I highly recommend this cookbook - and it makes great gift too!

Title: Simple, delicious, homecooking
Review: This is the book you can turn to if you like simple home cooking that also tastes great and make you look as if you really know how to handle yourself in the kitchen. Most of the recipes have few ingredients you already have on your kitchen. The recipes have that home, comfort food taste, no fusion - new age - latest creation - who can eat/cook that? madness. Our favorite ones are: #113 Chicken breasts with red pepper sauce, #116 Lemon chicken almondine, #118 Chicken roulades with mushroom sauce, #123 Pecan breaded chicken breast with dijon mustard sauce, #136 Sautéed chicken breasts cordiere, and #219 Cola oven BBQ (my husband's favorite since he was a kid!). And once a month, more or less, I like to try something new.If you have no experience at all in the kitchen, you can follow the recipe to the t and have really good results and if you have some experience you can tweak the recipes to your liking as they are very flexible. My only 2 suggestions: 1) get the spiral binding edition so you can lay it flat and 2) decrease the amount of Dijon mustard in every recipe by half if you like it strong or more if you, like us, just like the kick of the flavor (we use 1/3 of the suggested amount).

Title: Try the Chicken Saltimbocca; it's fantastic
Review: Ways to cook chicken arranged by how it's used, in casseroles, in pastry, as a veal substitute (that's the one that I first got excited about), etc. Just made Chicken Saltimbocca last night. Probably the fanciest way to cook chicken I've ever made, and it wasn't hard. Recipe calls for prosciutto; I just used thin-sliced ham lunch meat. The combination of chicken, a little ham, sage, pepper, butter, Parmesan, and parsley was FANTASTIC. Will make again! Now I'm going through the book pretty darned carefully, looking for the next winner of a recipe for chicken. I think chicken breasts were smaller when the book was written (1986); but she says at the beginning of the "Could be Veal" section, "a breast half equals a single serving of 4 to 5 ounces;" if I have a breast half in hand that weighs 12 ounces, I just figure it's the same amount of meat as about 3 breast halves would have been back in 1986, and plan accordingly.

Review: I have the recipes in the book to be very good. There are no pictures of the dishes which has required me to get used to selecting a recipe by ingredients not by the associated pretty picture.

Title: Great chicken cookbook for beginners & intermediate chefs
Review: This was the first cookbook I began using when I got married in the mid 90s and it was a great way to get started cooking, without being overwhelming. Prep times and cook times listed and are pretty accurate. This is a very good series - there's also 365 ways to cook pasta,365 low cal recipes and 365 fish & seafood recipes that I also bought and use. But the chicken one is the most worn, with tears and spills on it from most frequent use. 3 family favorites are #88 chicken with cream sauce, proscuitto and peas, red pepper chicken #113 and chicken marsala with mushrooms #106. This will always be a favorite cookbook in our house! I bought this copy as a gift for a relative who's starting to cook.

Title: Great little cookbook!
Review: This is the first cookbook I ever purchased for myself back in the 80âs and I still use regularly today. Was happy to see it still in print for me to buy for my son who will soon be moving out on his own. Never made all 365 recipes but have made many that were successful and well received.

Title: Best Cookbook Ever
Review: I bought this cookbook at Costco years ago and was so happy to have found it on Amazon. I learned all basic cooking techniques from this book even though itâs for chicken. Highly recommend this for anyone who doesnât know how to cook. Every recipe turns out great. Excellent wedding gift, by the way.

Title: A great basic cookbook for chicken
Review: I had this book when it was originally published and loaned it to a friend. Believe it or not, I really missed having it after 5 years! It was my go-to for those times when I just ran out of ideas for chicken. I'm glad I was able to find it again and will definitely will not be loaning it to anyone.
